25 JOB Job - Wycliffe Bible(14c) Job - Douay Rheims(17c) Reference

1 Respondens autem Baldad Suhites, dixit: Forsothe Baldach Suytes answeride,
and seide,
Then Baldad the Suhite answered, and I said: Bildad. Jb.25.1-6
2 Potestas et terror apud eum est,
qui facit concordiam in sublimibus suis.
Power and drede is anentis hym, that is, God,
that makith acordyng in hise hiye thingis.
Power and terror are with him,
who maketh peace in his high places.
3 Numquid est numerus militum ejus?
et super quem non surget lumen illius?
Whether noumbre is of hise knyytis?
and on whom schyneth not his liyt?
Is there any numbering of his soldiers?
and upon whom shall not his light arise?
4 Numquid justificari potest homo comparatus Deo?
aut apparere mundus natus de muliere?
Whether a man comparisound to God mai be iustified,
ether borun of a womman mai appere cleene?
Can man be justified compared with God,
or he that is born of a woman appear clean?
5 Ecce luna etiam non splendet,
et stellæ non sunt mundæ in conspectu ejus:
Lo! also the moone schyneth not,
and sterris ben not cleene in his siyt;
Behold even the moon doth not shine,
and the stars are not pure in his sight.
6 quanto magis homo putredo,
et filius hominis vermis?
hou miche more a man rot,
and the sone of a man a worm, is vncleene and vile, if he is comparisound to God.
How much less man that is rottenness
and the son of man who is a worm?
