12 EPISTULA AD CORINTHIOS I 1 Corinthis - Wycliffe Bible(14c) 1 Corinthians - Douay Rheims(17c) Reference

1 De spiritualibus autem, nolo vos ignorare fratres. But of spiritual thingis, britheren, Y nyle that ye vnknowun. Now concerning spiritual things, my brethren, I would not have you ignorant. Spitritual Gifts 1Cor.12.1-11
For ye witen, that whanne ye weren hethene men, hou ye weren led goynge to doumbe maumetis. You know that when you were heathens, you went to dumb idols, according as you were led.
3 Ideo notum vobis facio, quod nemo in Spiritu Dei loquens, dicit anathema Jesu. Et nemo potest dicere, Dominus Jesus, nisi in Spiritu Sancto. Therfor Y make knowun to you, that no man spekynge in the spirit of God, seith departyng fro Jhesu; and no man may seie the Lord Jhesu, but in the Hooli Goost. Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man, speaking by the Spirit of God, saith Anathema to Jesus. And no man can say the Lord Jesus, but by the Holy Ghost.
4 Divisiones vero gratiarum sunt, idem autem Spiritus: And dyuerse graces ther ben, but it is al oon Spirit; Now there are diversities of graces, but the same Spirit;
5 et divisiones ministrationum sunt, idem autem Dominus: and dyuerse seruyces ther ben, but it is al oon Lord; and dyuerse worchingis ther ben, And there are diversities of ministries, but the same Lord;
6 et divisiones operationum sunt, idem vero Deus qui operatur omnia in omnibus. but al is oon God, that worchith alle thingis in alle thingis. And there are diversities of operations, but the same God, who worketh all in all.
7 Unicuique autem datur manifestatio Spiritus ad utilitatem. And to ech man the schewyng of spirit is youun to profit. The word of wisdom is youun to oon bi spirit; And the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man unto profit.
8 Alii quidem per Spiritum datur sermo sapientiæ: alii autem sermo scientiæ secundum eumdem Spiritum: to another the word of kunnyng, bi the same spirit; To one indeed, by the Spirit, is given the word of wisdom: and to another, the word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit;
9 alteri fides in eodem Spiritu: alii gratia sanitatum in uno Spiritu: feith to another, in the same spirit; to anothere, grace of helthis, in o spirit; To another, faith in the same spirit; to another, the grace of healing in one Spirit;
10 alii operatio virtutum, alii prophetia, alii discretio spirituum, alii genera linguarum, alii interpretatio sermonum. to another, the worchyng of vertues; to another, profecie; to another, very knowyng of spiritis; to another, kyndis of langagis; to another, expownyng of wordis. To another, the working of miracles; to another, prophecy; to another, the discerning of spirits; to another, diverse kinds of tongues; to another, interpretation of speeches.
And oon and the same spirit worchith alle these thingis, departynge to ech bi hem silf as he wole. But all these things one and the same Spirit worketh, dividing to every one according as he will.
For as ther is o body, and hath many membris, and alle the membris of the bodi whanne tho ben manye, ben o bodi, so also Crist. For as the body is one, and hath many members; and all the members of the body, whereas they are many, yet are one body, so also is Christ. One Body with Many Members 1Cor.12.12-31
13 Etenim in uno Spiritu omnes nos in unum corpus baptizati sumus, sive Judæi, sive gentiles, sive servi, sive liberi: et omnes in uno Spiritu potati sumus. For in o spirit alle we ben baptisid in to o bodi, ether Jewis, ether hethene, ether seruauntis, ether free; and alle we ben fillid with drink in o spirit. For in one Spirit were we all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Gentiles, whether bond or free; and in one Spirit we have all been made to drink.
For the bodi is not o membre, but manye. For the body also is not one member, but many.
If the foot seith, For Y am not the hoond, Y am not of the bodi; not therfor it is not of the bodi. If the foot should say, because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body ?
And if the ere seith, For Y am not the iye, Y am not of the bodi; not therfor it is not of the bodi. And if the ear should say, because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body ?
17 Si totum corpus oculus: ubi auditus? Si totum auditus: ubi odoratus? If al the bodi is the iye, where is heryng? and if al the bodi is heryng, where is smellyng? If the whole body were the eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling?
18 Nunc autem posuit Deus membra, unumquodque eorum in corpore sicut voluit. But now God hath set membris, and ech of hem in the bodi, as he wolde. But now God hath set the members every one of them in the body as it hath pleased him.
That if alle weren o membre, where were the bodi? And if they all were one member, where would be the body?
20 Nunc autem multa quidem membra, unum autem corpus. But now ther ben many membris, but o bodi. But now there are many members indeed, yet one body.
And the iye may not seie to the hond, Y haue no nede to thi werkis; or eft the heed to the feet, Ye ben not necessarie to me. And the eye cannot say to the hand: I need not thy help; nor again the head to the feet: I have no need of you.
But myche more tho that ben seyn to be the lowere membris of the bodi, ben more nedeful; Yea, much more those that seem to be the more feeble members of the body, are more necessary.
23 et quæ putamus ignobiliora membra esse corporis, his honorem abundantiorem circumdamus: et quæ inhonesta sunt nostra, abundantiorem honestatem habent. and thilke that we gessen to be the vnworthier membris of the bodi, we yyuen more honour to hem; and tho membris that ben vnonest, han more oneste. And such as we think to be the less honourable members of the body, about these we put more abundant honour; and those that are our uncomely parts, have more abundant comeliness.
24 Honesta autem nostra nullius egent: sed Deus temperavit corpus, ei cui deerat, abundantiorem tribuendo honorem, For oure oneste membris han nede of noon; but God tempride the bodi, yyuynge more worschip to it, to whom it failide, But our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, giving to that which wanted the more abundant honour,
25 ut non sit schisma in corpore, sed idipsum pro invicem sollicita sint membra. that debate be not in the bodi, but that the membris be bisi in to the same thing ech for othere. That there might be no schism in the body; but the members might be mutually careful one for another.
26 Et si quid patitur unum membrum, compatiuntur omnia membra: sive gloriatur unum membrum, congaudent omnia membra. And if o membre suffrith ony thing, alle membris suffren therwith; ethir if o membre ioieth, alle membris ioien togidere. And if one member suffer any thing, all the members suffer with it; or if one member glory, all the members rejoice with it.
And ye ben the bodi of Crist, and membris of membre. Now you are the body of Christ, and members of member.
28 Et quosdam quidem posuit Deus in ecclesia primum apostolos, secundo prophetas, exinde doctores, deinde virtutes, exinde gratias curationum, opitulationes, gubernationes, genera linguarum, interpretationes sermonum. But God sette sum men in the chirche, fyrst apostlis, the secunde tyme prophetis, the thridde techeris, aftirward vertues, aftirward graces of heelyngis, helpyngis, gouernails, kyndis of langagis, interpretaciouns of wordis. And God indeed hath set some in the church; first apostles, secondly prophets, thirdly doctors; after that miracles; then the graces of healing, helps, governments, kinds of tongues, interpretations of speeches.
29 Numquid omnes apostoli? numquid omnes prophetæ? numquid omnes doctores? Whether alle apostlis? whethir alle prophetis? whether alle techeris? whether alle vertues? Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all doctors?
30 numquid omnes virtutes? numquid omnes gratiam habent curationum? numquid omnes linguis loquuntur? numquid omnes interpretantur? whether alle men han grace of heelyngis? whether alle speken with langagis? whether alle expownen? Are all workers of miracles? Have all the grace of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? Love 1Cor.12.30-13.13
