||Anno vigesimo tertio Joas filii Ochozi? regis Juda, regnavit Joachaz filius Jehu super Isra?l in Samaria decem et septem annis.
||In the thre and twentithe yeer of Joas, sone of Ocozie, kyng of Juda, Joachaz, sone of Hieu, regnede on Israel, in Samarie seuentene yeer.
||In the three and twentieth year of Joas son of Ochozias king of Juda, Joachaz the son of Jehu reigned over Israel in Samaria, seventeen years.
||JEHOAHAZ king of Israel. (821 BCE) 2Kgs.13.1-9
||Et fecit malum coram Domino, secutusque est peccata Jeroboam filii Nabat, qui peccare fecit Isra?l, et non declinavit ab eis.
||And he dide yuel bifor the Lord, and he suede the synnes of Jeroboam, sone of Nabath, that made Israel to do synne; and he bowide not awei fro tho.
||And he did evil before the Lord, and followed the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nabat, who made Israel to sin, and he departed not from them.
||Iratusque est furor Domini contra Isra?l, et tradidit eos in manu Haza?l regis Syri?, et in manu Benadad filii Haza?l, cunctis diebus.
||And the strong veniaunce of the Lord was wrooth ayens Israel, and he bitook hem in to the hondis of Azael, kyng of Sirie, and in the hond of Benadab, sone of Asael, in alle daies.
||And the wrath of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and he delivered them into the hand of Hazael the king of Syria, and into the hand of Benadad the son of Hazael all days.
||Deprecatus est autem Joachaz faciem Domini, et audivit eum Dominus: vidit enim angustiam Isra?l, quia attriverat eos rex Syri
||Forsothe Joachaz bisouyte the face of the Lord, and the Lord herde hym; for he siy the anguysch of Israel, for the kyng of Sirie hadde al to brokun hem.
||But Joachaz besought the face of the Lord, and the Lord heard him: for he saw the distress of Israel, because the king of Syria had oppressed them:
||et dedit Dominus salvatorem Isra?li, et liberatus est de manu regis Syri?: habitaveruntque filii Isra?l in tabernaculis suis sicut heri et nudiustertius.
||And the Lord yaf a sauyour to Israel, and he was delyuered fro the hond of the kyng of Sirie; and the sones of Israel dwelliden in her tabernaclis, as yistirdai and the thridde dai ago.
||And the Lord gave Israel a saviour, and they were delivered out of the hand of the king of Syria: and the children of Israel dwelt in their pavilions as yesterday and the day before.
||Verumtamen non recesserunt a peccatis domus Jeroboam, qui peccare fecit Isra?l, sed in ipsis ambulaverunt: siquidem et lucus permansit in Samaria.
||Netheles thei departiden not fro the synnes of the hows of Jeroboam, that made Israel to do synne; thei yeden in tho synnes; sotheli also the wode dwellide in Samarie.
||But yet they departed not from the sins of Jeroboam, who made Israel to sin, but walked in them: and there still remained a grove also in Samaria.
||Et non sunt derelicti Joachaz de populo nisi quinquaginta equites, et decem currus, et decem millia peditum: interfecerat enim eos rex Syri?, et redegerat quasi pulverem in tritura are
||And to Joacham weren not left of the puple, no but fyue hundrid kniytis, and ten charis, and ten thousynde of foot men; for the kyng of Sirie hadde slayn hem, and hadde dryue hem as in to poudur in the threischyng of a cornfloor.
||And Joachaz had no more left of the people than fifty horsemen, and ten chariots, and ten thousand footmen: for the king of Syria had slain them, and had brought them low as dust by thrashing in the barnfloor.
||Reliqua autem sermonum Joachaz, et universa qu? fecit, et fortitudo ejus, nonne h?c scripta sunt in libro sermonum dierum regum Isra?l?
||Forsothe the residue of wordis of Joachaz, and alle thingis whiche he dide, and the strength of hym, whether these ben not wrytun in the book of wordis of daies of the kyngis of Israel?
||Rut the rest of the acts of Joachaz, and all that he did, and his valour, are they not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Israel?
||Dormivitque Joachaz cum patribus suis, et sepelierunt eum in Samaria: regnavitque Joas filius ejus pro eo.
||And Joachaz slepte with hise fadris, and thei birieden hym in Samarie; and Joas, his sone, regnyde for hym.
||And Joachaz slept with his fathers, and they buried him in Samaria: and Joas his son reigned in his stead.
||Anno trigesimo septimo Joas regis Juda, regnavit Joas filius Joachaz super Isra?l in Samaria sedecim annis.
||In the seuenthe and threttithe yeer of Joas, king of Juda, Joas, sone of Joachaz, regnede on Israel in Samarie sixtene yeer.
||In the seven and thirtieth year of Joas king of Juda, Joas the son of Joachaz reigned over Israel in Samaria sixteen years.

||Et fecit quod malum est in conspectu Domini: non declinavit ab omnibus peccatis Jeroboam filii Nabat, qui peccare fecit Isra?l, sed in ipsis ambulavit.
||And he dide that, that is yuel in the siyt of the Lord; for he bowide not awei fro alle the synnes of Jeroboam, sone of Nabath, that made Israel to do synne; he yede in tho synnes.
||And he did that which is evil in the sight of the Lord: he departed not from all the sine of Jeroboam the son of Nabat, who made Israel to sin, but he walked in them.
||Reliqua autem sermonum Joas, et universa qu? fecit, et fortitudo ejus, quomodo pugnaverit contra Amasiam regem Juda, nonne h?c scripta sunt in libro sermonum dierum regum Isra?l?

||Et dormivit Joas cum patribus suis: Jeroboam autem sedit super solium ejus. Porro Joas sepultus est in Samaria cum regibus Isra?l.
||And Joas slepte with hise fadris; forsothe Jeroboam sat on his trone. Sotheli Joas was biried in Samarie with the kyngis of Israel.
||And Joas slept with his fathers: and Jeroboam sat upon his throne. But Joas was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel.
||Eliseus autem ?grotabat infirmitate, qua et mortuus est: descenditque ad eum Joas rex Isra?l, et flebat coram eo, dicebatque: Pater mi, pater mi, currus Isra?l et auriga ejus.
||Forsothe Elisee was sijk in sikenesse, bi which and he was deed; and Joas, kyng of Israel, yede doun to hym, and wepte bifor hym, and seide, My fadir! my fadir! the chare of Israel, and the charietere therof!
||Now Eliseus was sick of the illness whereof he died: and Joas king of Israel went down to him, and wept before him, and said: O my father, my father, the chariot of Israel and the guider thereof.

||And Elisee seide to hym, Brynge thou a bouwe and arowis. And whanne he hadde brouyte to Elisee a bouwe and arowis,
||And Eliseus said to him: Bring a bow and arrows. And when he had brought him a bow, and arrows,
||dixit ad regem Isra?l: Pone manum tuam super arcum. Et cum posuisset ille manum suam, superposuit Eliseus manus suas manibus regis,

||He said to the king of Israel: Put thy hand upon the bow. And when he had put his hand, Eliseus put his hands over the king's hands,
||et ait: Aperi fenestram orientalem. Cumque aperuisset, dixit Eliseus: Jace sagittam. Et jecit. Et ait Eliseus: Sagitta salutis Domini, et sagitta salutis contra Syriam: percutiesque Syriam in Aphec, donec consumas eam.
||kyng, and seide, Opene thou the eest wyndow. And whanne he hadde openyd, Elisee seide, Schete thou an arewe; and he schete. And Elisee seide, It is an arewe of helthe of the Lord, and an arowe of helthe ayens Sirie; and thou schalt smyte Sirie in Affeth, til thou waste it.
||And said: Open the window to the east. And when he had opened it, Eliseus said: Shoot an arrow. And he shot. And Eliseus said: The arrow of the Lord's deliverance, and the arrow of the deliverance from Syria: and thou shalt strike the Syrians in Aphec, till thou consume them.
||Et ait: Tolle sagittas. Qui cum tulisset, rursum dixit ei: Percute jaculo terram. Et cum percussisset tribus vicibus, et stetisset,
||And Elisee seide, Take awei the arowis. And whanne he hadde take awei, Elisee seide eft to him, Smyte thou the erthe with a dart. And whanne he hadde smyte thre tymes,
||And he said: Take the arrows. And when he had taken them, he said to him : Strike with an arrow upon the ground. And he struck three times and stood still.
||iratus est vir Dei contra eum, et ait: Si percussisses quinquies, aut sexies, sive septies, percussisses Syriam usque ad consumptionem: nunc autem tribus vicibus percuties eam.
||and hadde stonde, the man of God was wrooth ayens hym, and seide, If thou haddist smyte fyue sithis, ether sixe sithis, ethir seuen sithis, thou schuldist haue smyte Sirie til to the endyng; now forsothe thou schalt smyte it thre sithis.
||And the man of God was angry with him, and said: If thou hadst smitten five or six or seven times, thou hadst smitten Syria even to utter destruction: but now three times shalt thou smite it.
||Mortuus est ergo Eliseus, et sepelierunt eum. Latrunculi autem de Moab venerunt in terram in ipso anno.
||Therfor Elisee was deed, and thei birieden hym. And the theuys of Moab camen in to the lond in that yeer.
||And Eliseus died, and they buried him. And the rovers from Moab came into the land the same year.
||Quidam autem sepelientes hominem, viderunt latrunculos, et projecerunt cadaver in sepulchro Elisei. Quod cum tetigisset ossa Elisei, revixit homo, et stetit super pedes suos.
||Forsothe sum men birieden a man, and thei siyen the theues, and thei castiden forth the deed bodi in the sepulcre of Elisee; and whanne it hadde touchid the bonys of Elisee, the man lyuede ayen, and stood on his feet.
||And some that were burying a man, saw the rovers, and cast the body into the sepulchre of Eliseus. And when it had touched the bones of Eliseus, the man came to life, and stood upon his feet.
||Igitur Haza?l rex Syri? afflixit Isra?l cunctis diebus Joachaz:
||Therfor Azael, kyng of Sirie, turmentide Israel in alle the daies of Joachaz.
||Now Hazael king of Syria afflicted Israel all the days of Joachaz:
||Israel's gains in the war with Syria. 2Kgs.13.22-25
||et misertus est Dominus eorum, et reversus est ad eos propter pactum suum, quod habebat cum Abraham, et Isaac, et Jacob: et noluit disperdere eos, neque projicere penitus usque in pr?sens tempus.
||And the Lord hadde merci on hem, and turnede ayen to hem for his couenaunt, which he hadde with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; and he nolde distrie hem, nether cast awei outirli, til in to present tyme.
||And the Lord had mercy on them, and returned to them because of his covenant, which he had made with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob: and he would not destroy them, nor utterly cast them away, unto this present time.
||Mortuus est autem Haza?l rex Syri?, et regnavit Benadad filius ejus pro eo.
||Forsothe Azael, kyng of Sirie, diede; and Benadad, his sone, regnede for hym.
||And Hazael king of Syria died, and Benadad his son reigned in his stead.
||Porro Joas filius Joachaz tulit urbes de manu Benadad filii Haza?l, quas tulerat de manu Joachaz patris sui jure pr?lii: tribus vicibus percussit eum Joas, et reddidit civitates Isra?l.
||Forsothe Joas, sone of Joachas, took awei citees fro the hond of Benadad, sone of Asael, which he hadde take bi the riyt of batel fro the hoond of Joachaz, his fadir; Joas smoot hym thre tymes, and he yeldide the citees of Israel.
||Now Joas d the son of Joachaz, took the cities out of the hand of Benadad, the son of Hazael, which he had taken out of the hand of Joachaz his father by war, three times did Joas beat him, and he restored the cities to Israel.
