| 1 | Καὶ προσελθοῦσαι αἱ θυγατέρες Σαλπααδ υἱοῦ Οφερ υἱοῦ Γαλααδ υἱοῦ Μαχιρ τοῦ δήμου Μανασση τῶν υἱῶν Ιωσηφ [καὶ ταῦτα τὰ ὀνόματα αὐτῶν· Μαλα καὶ Νουα καὶ Εγλα καὶ Μελχα καὶ Θερσα] |
And the daughters of Salpaad the son of Opher, the son of Galaad, the son of Machir, of the tribe of Manasse, of the sons of Joseph, came near; and these were their names, Maala, and Nua, and Egla, and Melcha, and Thersa; | Inheritance of daughters. Nu.27.1-11 | Then drew near the daughters of Zeloph'ehad the son of Hepher, son of Gilead, son of Machir, son of Manas'seh, from the families of Manas'seh the son of Joseph. | 2 | καὶ στᾶσαι ἔναντι Μωυσῆ καὶ ἔναντι Ελεαζαρ τοῦ ἱερέως καὶ ἔναντι τῶν ἀρχόντων καὶ ἔναντι πάσης συναγωγῆς ἐπὶ τῆς θύρας τῆς σκηνῆς τοῦ μαρτυρίου λέγουσιν |
and they stood before Moses, and before Eleazar the priest, and before the princes, and before all the congregation at the door of the tabernacle of witness, saying, | | And they stood before Moses, and before Elea'zar the priest, and before the leaders and all the congregation, at the door of the tent of meeting, saying, | וַתַּעֲמֹדְנָה לִפְנֵי מֹשֶׁה וְלִפְנֵי אֶלְעָזָר הַכֹּהֵן וְלִפְנֵי הַנְּשִׂיאִם וְכָל־הָעֵדָה פֶּתַח אֹהֶל־מֹועֵד לֵאמֹר׃ |

| 3 | Ὁ πατὴρ ἡμῶν ἀπέθανεν ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ, καὶ αὐτὸς οὐκ ἦν ἐν μέσῳ τῆς συναγωγῆς τῆς ἐπισυστάσης ἔναντι κυρίου ἐν τῇ συναγωγῇ Κορε, ὅτι διὰ ἁμαρτίαν αὐτοῦ ἀπέθανεν, καὶ υἱοὶ οὐκ ἐγένοντο αὐτῷ· |
Our father died in the wilderness, and he was not in the midst of the congregation that rebelled against the Lord in the gathering of Core; for he died for his own sin, and he had no sons. Let not the name of our father be blotted out of the midst of his people, because he has no son give us an inheritance in the midst of our father's brethren. | | "Our father died in the wilderness; he was not among the company of those who gathered themselves together against the LORD in the company of Korah, but died for his own sin; and he had no sons. | אָבִינוּ מֵת בַּמִּדְבָּר וְהוּא לֹא־הָיָה בְּתֹוךְ הָעֵדָה הַנֹּועָדִים עַל־יְהוָה בַּעֲדַת־קֹרַח כִּי־בְחֶטְאֹו מֵת וּבָנִים לֹא־הָיוּ לֹו׃ |

| 4 | μὴ ἐξαλειφθήτω τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ πατρὸς ἡμῶν ἐκ μέσου τοῦ δήμου αὐτοῦ, ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν αὐτῷ υἱός· δότε ἡμῖν κατάσχεσιν ἐν μέσῳ ἀδελφῶν πατρὸς ἡμῶν. |
And Moses brought their case before the Lord. | | Why should the name of our father be taken away from his family, because he had no son? Give to us a possession among our father's brethren." | לָמָּה יִגָּרַע שֵׁם־אָבִינוּ מִתֹּוךְ מִשְׁפַּחְתֹּו כִּי אֵין לֹו בֵּן תְּנָה־לָּנוּ אֲחֻזָּה בְּתֹוךְ אֲחֵי אָבִינוּ׃ |

| 5 | καὶ προσήγαγεν Μωϋσῆς τὴν κρίσιν αὐτῶν ἔναντι κυρίου. |
And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, | | Moses brought their case before the LORD. | וַיַּקְרֵב מֹשֶׁה אֶת־מִשְׁפָּטָן לִפְנֵי יְהוָה׃ ס |

| 6 | καὶ ἐλάλησεν κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν λέγων |
The daughters of Salpaad have spoken rightly: you shall surely give them a possession of inheritance in the midst of their father's brethren, and you shall assign their father's inheritance to them. | | And the LORD said to Moses, | וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר׃ |

| 7 | Ὀρθῶς θυγατέρες Σαλπααδ λελαλήκασιν· δόμα δώσεις αὐταῖς κατάσχεσιν κληρονομίας ἐν μέσῳ ἀδελφῶν πατρὸς αὐτῶν καὶ περιθήσεις τὸν κλῆρον τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτῶν αὐταῖς. |
And you shall speak to the children of Israel, saying, | | "The daughters of Zeloph'ehad are right; you shall give them possession of an inheritance among their father's brethren and cause the inheritance of their father to pass to them. | כֵּן בְּנֹות צְלָפְחָד דֹּבְרֹת נָתֹן תִּתֵּן לָהֶם אֲחֻזַּת נַחֲלָה בְּתֹוךְ אֲחֵי אֲבִיהֶם וְהַעֲבַרְתָּ אֶת־נַחֲלַת אֲבִיהֶן לָהֶן׃ |

| 8 | καὶ τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ λαλήσεις λέγων Ἄνθρωπος ἐὰν ἀποθάνῃ καὶ υἱὸς μὴ ᾖ αὐτῷ, περιθήσετε τὴν κληρονομίαν αὐτοῦ τῇ θυγατρὶ αὐτοῦ· |
If a man die, and have no son, you shall assign his inheritance to his daughter. | | And you shall say to the people of Israel, 'If a man dies, and has no son, then you shall cause his inheritance to pass to his daughter. | וְאֶל־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל תְּדַבֵּר לֵאמֹר אִישׁ כִּי־יָמוּת וּבֵן אֵין לֹו וְהַעֲבַרְתֶּם אֶת־נַחֲלָתֹו לְבִתֹּו׃ |

| 9 | ἐὰν δὲ μὴ ᾖ θυγάτηρ αὐτῷ, δώσετε τὴν κληρονομίαν τῷ ἀδελφῷ αὐτοῦ· |
And if he have no daughter, you shall give his inheritance to his brother. | | And if he has no daughter, then you shall give his inheritance to his brothers. | וְאִם־אֵין לֹו בַּת וּנְתַתֶּם אֶת־נַחֲלָתֹו לְאֶחָיו׃ |

| 10 | ἐὰν δὲ μὴ ὦσιν αὐτῷ ἀδελφοί, δώσετε τὴν κληρονομίαν τῷ ἀδελφῷ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ· |
And if he have no brethren, you shall give his inheritance to his father's brother. | | And if he has no brothers, then you shall give his inheritance to his father's brothers. | וְאִם־אֵין לֹו אַחִים וּנְתַתֶּם אֶת־נַחֲלָתֹו לַאֲחֵי אָבִיו׃ |

| 11 | ἐὰν δὲ μὴ ὦσιν ἀδελφοὶ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ, δώσετε τὴν κληρονομίαν τῷ οἰκείῳ τῷ ἔγγιστα αὐτοῦ ἐκ τῆς φυλῆς αὐτοῦ, κληρονομήσει τὰ αὐτοῦ. καὶ ἔσται τοῦτο τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ δικαίωμα κρίσεως, καθὰ συνέταξεν κύριος τῷ Μωυσῇ. |
And if there be no brethren of his father, you shall give the inheritance to his nearest relation of his tribe, to inherit his possessions; and this shall be to the children of Israel an ordinance of judgment, as the Lord commanded Moses. | | And if his father has no brothers, then you shall give his inheritance to his kinsman that is next to him of his family, and he shall possess it. And it shall be to the people of Israel a statute and ordinance, as the LORD commanded Moses.'" | וְאִם־אֵין אַחִים לְאָבִיו וּנְתַתֶּם אֶת־נַחֲלָתֹו לִשְׁאֵרֹו הַקָּרֹב אֵלָיו מִמִּשְׁפַּחְתֹּו וְיָרַשׁ אֹתָהּ וְהָיְתָה לִבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לְחֻקַּת מִשְׁפָּט כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוָה אֶת־מֹשֶׁה׃ ס |

| 12 | Καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν Ἀνάβηθι εἰς τὸ ὄρος τὸ ἐν τῷ πέραν [τοῦτο ὄρος Ναβαυ] καὶ ἰδὲ τὴν γῆν Χανααν, ἣν ἐγὼ δίδωμι τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ ἐν κατασχέσει· |
And the Lord said to Moses, Go up to the mountain that is in the country beyond Jordan, this mount Nabau, and behold the land Chanaan, which I give to the sons of Israel for a possession. | Joshua appointed to succeed Moses. Nu.27.12-23 | Dt.31.1-8 | The LORD said to Moses, "Go up into this mountain of Ab'arim, and see the land which I have given to the people of Israel. | וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה עֲלֵה אֶל־הַר הָעֲבָרִים הַזֶּה וּרְאֵה אֶת־הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר נָתַתִּי לִבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל׃ |

| 13 | καὶ ὄψει αὐτὴν καὶ προστεθήσῃ πρὸς τὸν λαόν σου καὶ σύ, καθὰ προσετέθη Ααρων ὁ ἀδελφός σου ἐν Ωρ τῷ ὄρει, |
And you shall see it, and you shall also be added to your people, as Aaron your brother was added [to them] in mount Or: | | And when you have seen it, you also shall be gathered to your people, as your brother Aaron was gathered, | וְרָאִיתָה אֹתָהּ וְנֶאֱסַפְתָּ אֶל־עַמֶּיךָ גַּם־אָתָּה כַּאֲשֶׁר נֶאֱסַף אַהֲרֹן אָחִיךָ׃ |

| 14 | διότι παρέβητε τὸ ῥῆμά μου ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ Σιν ἐν τῷ ἀντιπίπτειν τὴν συναγωγὴν ἁγιάσαι με· οὐχ ἡγιάσατέ με ἐπὶ τῷ ὕδατι ἔναντι αὐτῶν [τοῦτό ἐστιν ὕδωρ ἀντιλογίας Καδης ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ Σιν]. |
because you transgressed my commandment in the wilderness of Sin, when the congregation resisted [and refused] to sanctify me; you sanctified me not at the water before them. This is the water of Strife in Cades in the wilderness of Sin. | | because you rebelled against my word in the wilderness of Zin during the strife of the congregation, to sanctify me at the waters before their eyes." (These are the waters of Mer'ibah of Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.) | כַּאֲשֶׁר מְרִיתֶם פִּי בְּמִדְבַּר־צִן בִּמְרִיבַת הָעֵדָה לְהַקְדִּישֵׁנִי בַמַּיִם לְעֵינֵיהֶם הֵם מֵי־מְרִיבַת קָדֵשׁ מִדְבַּר־צִן׃ ף |

| 15 | καὶ εἶπεν Μωϋσῆς πρὸς κύριον |
And Moses said to the Lord, | | Moses said to the LORD, | וַיְדַבֵּר מֹשֶׁה אֶל־יְהוָה לֵאמֹר׃ |

| 16 | Ἑπισκεψάσθω κύριος ὁ θεὸς τῶν πνευμάτων καὶ πάσης σαρκὸς ἄνθρωπον ἐπὶ τῆς συναγωγῆς ταύτης, |
Let the Lord God of spirits and of all flesh look out for a man over this congregation, | | "Let the LORD, the God of the spirits of all flesh, appoint a man over the congregation, | יִפְקֹד יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵי הָרוּחֹת לְכָל־בָּשָׂר אִישׁ עַל־הָעֵדָה׃ |

| 17 | ὅστις ἐξελεύσεται πρὸ προσώπου αὐτῶν καὶ ὅστις εἰσελεύσεται πρὸ προσώπου αὐτῶν καὶ ὅστις ἐξάξει αὐτοὺς καὶ ὅστις εἰσάξει αὐτούς, καὶ οὐκ ἔσται ἡ συναγωγὴ κυρίου ὡσεὶ πρόβατα, οἷς οὐκ ἔστιν ποιμήν. |
who shall go out before them, and who shall come in before them, and who shall lead them out, and who shall bring them in; so the congregation of the Lord shall not be as sheep without a shepherd. | | who shall go out before them and come in before them, who shall lead them out and bring them in; that the congregation of the LORD may not be as sheep which have no shepherd." | אֲשֶׁר־יֵצֵא לִפְנֵיהֶם וַאֲשֶׁר יָבֹא לִפְנֵיהֶם וַאֲשֶׁר יֹוצִיאֵם וַאֲשֶׁר יְבִיאֵם וְלֹא תִהְיֶה עֲדַת יְהוָה כַּצֹּאן אֲשֶׁר אֵין־לָהֶם רֹעֶה׃ |

| 18 | καὶ ἐλάλησεν κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν λέγων Λαβὲ πρὸς σεαυτὸν τὸν Ἰησοῦν υἱὸν Ναυη, ἄνθρωπον, ὃς ἔχει πνεῦμα ἐν ἑαυτῷ, καὶ ἐπιθήσεις τὰς χεῖράς σου ἐπ' αὐτὸν |
And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, Take to yourself Joshua the son of Naue, a man who has the Spirit in him, and you shall lay your hands upon him. | | And the LORD said to Moses, "Take Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit, and lay your hand upon him; | וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה קַח־לְךָ אֶת־יְהֹושֻׁעַ בִּן־נוּן אִישׁ אֲשֶׁר־רוּחַ בֹּו וְסָמַכְתָּ אֶת־יָדְךָ עָלָיו׃ |

| 19 | καὶ στήσεις αὐτὸν ἔναντι Ελεαζαρ τοῦ ἱερέως καὶ ἐντελῇ αὐτῷ ἔναντι πάσης συναγωγῆς καὶ ἐντελῇ περὶ αὐτοῦ ἐναντίον αὐτῶν |
And you shall set him before Eleazar the priest, and you shall give hi a charge before all the congregation, and you shall give a charge concerning him before them. | | cause him to stand before Elea'zar the priest and all the congregation, and you shall commission him in their sight. | וְהַעֲמַדְתָּ אֹתֹו לִפְנֵי אֶלְעָזָר הַכֹּהֵן וְלִפְנֵי כָּל־הָעֵדָה וְצִוִּיתָה אֹתֹו לְעֵינֵיהֶם׃ |
19 |
| 20 | καὶ δώσεις τῆς δόξης σου ἐπ' αὐτόν, ὅπως ἂν εἰσακούσωσιν αὐτοῦ οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ. |
And you shall put of your glory upon him, that the children of Israel may listen to him. | | You shall invest him with some of your authority, that all the congregation of the people of Israel may obey. | וְנָתַתָּה מֵהֹודְךָ עָלָיו לְמַעַן יִשְׁמְעוּ כָּל־עֲדַת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל׃ |

| 21 | καὶ ἔναντι Ελεαζαρ τοῦ ἱερέως στήσεται, καὶ ἐπερωτήσουσιν αὐτὸν τὴν κρίσιν τῶν δήλων ἔναντι κυρίου· ἐπὶ τῷ στόματι αὐτοῦ ἐξελεύσονται καὶ ἐπὶ τῷ στόματι αὐτοῦ εἰσελεύσονται αὐτὸς καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ ὁμοθυμαδὸν καὶ πᾶσα ἡ συναγωγή. |
And he shall stand before Eleazar the priest, and they shall ask of him before the Lord the judgment of the Urim: they shall go forth at his word, and at his word they shall come in, he and the children of Israel with one accord, and all the congregation. | | And he shall stand before Elea'zar the priest, who shall inquire for him by the judgment of the Urim before the LORD; at his word they shall go out, and at his word they shall come in, both he and all the people of Israel with him, the whole congregation." | וְלִפְנֵי אֶלְעָזָר הַכֹּהֵן יַעֲמֹד וְשָׁאַל לֹו בְּמִשְׁפַּט הָאוּרִים לִפְנֵי יְהוָה עַל־פִּיו יֵצְאוּ וְעַל־פִּיו יָבֹאוּ הוּא וְכָל־בְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל אִתֹּו וְכָל־הָעֵדָה׃ |

| 22 | καὶ ἐποίησεν Μωϋσῆς καθὰ ἐνετείλατο αὐτῷ κύριος, καὶ λαβὼν τὸν Ἰησοῦν ἔστησεν αὐτὸν ἐναντίον Ελεαζαρ τοῦ ἱερέως καὶ ἔναντι πάσης συναγωγῆς |
And Moses did as the Lord commanded him; and he took Joshua, and set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation. | | And Moses did as the LORD commanded him; he took Joshua and caused him to stand before Elea'zar the priest and the whole congregation, | וַיַּעַשׂ מֹשֶׁה כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוָה אֹתֹו וַיִּקַּח אֶת־יְהֹושֻׁעַ וַיַּעֲמִדֵהוּ לִפְנֵי אֶלְעָזָר הַכֹּהֵן וְלִפְנֵי כָּל־הָעֵדָה׃ |

| 23 | καὶ ἐπέθηκεν τὰς χεῖρας αὐτοῦ ἐπ' αὐτὸν καὶ συνέστησεν αὐτόν, καθάπερ συνέταξεν κύριος τῷ Μωυσῇ. |
And he laid his hands on him, and appointed him as the Lord ordered Moses. | | and he laid his hands upon him, and commissioned him as the Lord directed through Moses. | וַיִּסְמֹךְ אֶת־יָדָיו עָלָיו וַיְצַוֵּהוּ כַּאֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר יְהוָה בְּיַד־מֹשֶׁה׃ ף |
