| 1 | Καὶ ἦλθον οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ, πᾶσα ἡ συναγωγή, εἰς τὴν ἔρημον Σιν ἐν τῷ μηνὶ τῷ πρώτῳ, καὶ κατέμεινεν ὁ λαὸς ἐν Καδης, καὶ ἐτελεύτησεν ἐκεῖ Μαριαμ καὶ ἐτάφη ἐκεῖ. |
| Kadesh. Nu.20.1-13 | And the people of Israel, the whole congregation, came into the wilderness of Zin in the first month, and the people stayed in Kadesh; and Miriam died there, and was buried there. | וַיָּבֹאוּ בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל כָּל־הָעֵדָה מִדְבַּר־צִן בַּחֹדֶשׁ הָרִאשֹׁון וַיֵּשֶׁב הָעָם בְּקָדֵשׁ וַתָּמָת שָׁם מִרְיָם וַתִּקָּבֵר שָׁם׃ |

| 2 | καὶ οὐκ ἦν ὕδωρ τῇ συναγωγῇ, καὶ ἠθροίσθησαν ἐπὶ Μωυσῆν καὶ Ααρων. |
| | Now there was no water for the congregation; and they assembled themselves together against Moses and against Aaron. | וְלֹא־הָיָה מַיִם לָעֵדָה וַיִּקָּהֲלוּ עַל־מֹשֶׁה וְעַל־אַהֲרֹן׃ |

| 3 | καὶ ἐλοιδορεῖτο ὁ λαὸς πρὸς Μωυσῆν λέγοντες Ὄφελον ἀπεθάνομεν ἐν τῇ ἀπωλείᾳ τῶν ἀδελφῶν ἡμῶν ἔναντι κυρίου· |
| | And the people contended with Moses, and said, "Would that we had died when our brethren died before the LORD! | וַיָּרֶב הָעָם עִם־מֹשֶׁה וַיֹּאמְרוּ לֵאמֹר וְלוּ גָוַעְנוּ בִּגְוַע אַחֵינוּ לִפְנֵי יְהוָה׃ |

| 4 | καὶ ἵνα τί ἀνηγάγετε τὴν συναγωγὴν κυρίου εἰς τὴν ἔρημον ταύτην ἀποκτεῖναι ἡμᾶς καὶ τὰ κτήνη ἡμῶν; |
| | Why have you brought the assembly of the LORD into this wilderness, that we should die here, both we and our cattle? | וְלָמָה הֲבֵאתֶם אֶת־קְהַל יְהוָה אֶל־הַמִּדְבָּר הַזֶּה לָמוּת שָׁם אֲנַחְנוּ וּבְעִירֵנוּ׃ |

| 5 | καὶ ἵνα τί τοῦτο ἀνηγάγετε ἡμᾶς ἐξ Αἰγύπτου παραγενέσθαι εἰς τὸν τόπον τὸν πονηρὸν τοῦτον; τόπος, οὗ οὐ σπείρεται οὐδὲ συκαῖ οὐδὲ ἄμπελοι οὐδὲ ῥόαι οὐδὲ ὕδωρ ἐστὶν πιεῖν. |
| | And why have you made us come up out of Egypt, to bring us to this evil place? It is no place for grain, or figs, or vines, or pomegranates; and there is no water to drink." | וְלָמָה הֶעֱלִיתֻנוּ מִמִּצְרַיִם לְהָבִיא אֹתָנוּ אֶל־הַמָּקֹום הָרָע הַזֶּה לֹא מְקֹום זֶרַע וּתְאֵנָה וְגֶפֶן וְרִמֹּון וּמַיִם אַיִן לִשְׁתֹּות׃ |

| 6 | καὶ ἦλθεν Μωϋσῆς καὶ Ααρων ἀπὸ προσώπου τῆς συναγωγῆς ἐπὶ τὴν θύραν τῆς σκηνῆς τοῦ μαρτυρίου καὶ ἔπεσαν ἐπὶ πρόσωπον, καὶ ὤφθη ἡ δόξα κυρίου πρὸς αὐτούς. |
| | Then Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly to the door of the tent of meeting, and fell on their faces. And the glory of the LORD appeared to them, | וַיָּבֹא מֹשֶׁה וְאַהֲרֹן מִפְּנֵי הַקָּהָל אֶל־פֶּתַח אֹהֶל מֹועֵד וַיִּפְּלוּ עַל־פְּנֵיהֶם וַיֵּרָא כְבֹוד־יְהוָה אֲלֵיהֶם׃ ף |

| 7 | καὶ ἐλάλησεν κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν λέγων |
| | and the LORD said to Moses, | וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר׃ |
7 |
| 8 | Λαβὲ τὴν ῥάβδον καὶ ἐκκλησίασον τὴν συναγωγὴν σὺ καὶ Ααρων ὁ ἀδελφός σου καὶ λαλήσατε πρὸς τὴν πέτραν ἔναντι αὐτῶν, καὶ δώσει τὰ ὕδατα αὐτῆς, καὶ ἐξοίσετε αὐτοῖς ὕδωρ ἐκ τῆς πέτρας καὶ ποτιεῖτε τὴν συναγωγὴν καὶ τὰ κτήνη αὐτῶν. |
| | "Take the rod, and assemble the congregation, you and Aaron your brother, and tell the rock before their eyes to yield its water; so you shall bring water out of the rock for them; so you shall give drink to the congregation and their cattle." | קַח אֶת־הַמַּטֶּה וְהַקְהֵל אֶת־הָעֵדָה אַתָּה וְאַהֲרֹן אָחִיךָ וְדִבַּרְתֶּם אֶל־הַסֶּלַע לְעֵינֵיהֶם וְנָתַן מֵימָיו וְהֹוצֵאתָ לָהֶם מַיִם מִן־הַסֶּלַע וְהִשְׁקִיתָ אֶת־הָעֵדָה וְאֶת־בְּעִירָם׃ |

| 9 | καὶ ἔλαβεν Μωϋσῆς τὴν ῥάβδον τὴν ἀπέναντι κυρίου, καθὰ συνέταξεν κύριος· |
| | And Moses took the rod from before the LORD, as he commanded him. | וַיִּקַּח מֹשֶׁה אֶת־הַמַּטֶּה מִלִּפְנֵי יְהוָה כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּהוּ׃ |

| 10 | καὶ ἐξεκκλησίασεν Μωϋσῆς καὶ Ααρων τὴν συναγωγὴν ἀπέναντι τῆς πέτρας καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς Ἀκούσατέ μου, οἱ ἀπειθεῖς· μὴ ἐκ τῆς πέτρας ταύτης ἐξάξομεν ὑμῖν ὕδωρ; |
| | And Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly together before the rock, and he said to them, "Hear now, you rebels; shall we bring forth water for you out of this rock?" | וַיַּקְהִלוּ מֹשֶׁה וְאַהֲרֹן אֶת־הַקָּהָל אֶל־פְּנֵי הַסָּלַע וַיֹּאמֶר לָהֶם שִׁמְעוּ־נָא הַמֹּרִים הֲמִן־הַסֶּלַע הַזֶּה נֹוצִיא לָכֶם מָיִם׃ |

| 11 | καὶ ἐπάρας Μωϋσῆς τὴν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ ἐπάταξεν τὴν πέτραν τῇ ῥάβδῳ δίς, καὶ ἐξῆλθεν ὕδωρ πολύ, καὶ ἔπιεν ἡ συναγωγὴ καὶ τὰ κτήνη αὐτῶν. |
| | And Moses lifted up his hand and struck the rock with his rod twice; and water came forth abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their cattle. | וַיָּרֶם מֹשֶׁה אֶת־יָדֹו וַיַּךְ אֶת־הַסֶּלַע בְּמַטֵּהוּ פַּעֲמָיִם וַיֵּצְאוּ מַיִם רַבִּים וַתֵּשְׁתְּ הָעֵדָה וּבְעִירָם׃ ס |
11 |
| 12 | καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν καὶ Ααρων Ὅτι οὐκ ἐπιστεύσατε ἁγιάσαι με ἐναντίον υἱῶν Ισραηλ, διὰ τοῦτο οὐκ εἰσάξετε ὑμεῖς τὴν συναγωγὴν ταύτην εἰς τὴν γῆν, ἣν δέδωκα αὐτοῖς. |
| | And the LORD said to Moses and Aaron, "Because you did not believe in me, to sanctify me in the eyes of the people of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them." | וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה וְאֶל־אַהֲרֹן יַעַן לֹא־הֶאֱמַנְתֶּם בִּי לְהַקְדִּישֵׁנִי לְעֵינֵי בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לָכֵן לֹא תָבִיאוּ אֶת־הַקָּהָל הַזֶּה אֶל־הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר־נָתַתִּי לָהֶם׃ |

| 13 | τοῦτο ὕδωρ ἀντιλογίας, ὅτι ἐλοιδορήθησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ ἔναντι κυρίου καὶ ἡγιάσθη ἐν αὐτοῖς. |
| | These are the waters of Mer'ibah, where the people of Israel contended with the LORD, and he showed himself holy among them. | הֵמָּה מֵי מְרִיבָה אֲשֶׁר־רָבוּ בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶת־יְהוָה וַיִּקָּדֵשׁ בָּם׃ ס |

| 14 | Καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Μωϋσῆς ἀγγέλους ἐκ Καδης πρὸς βασιλέα Εδωμ λέγων Τάδε λέγει ὁ ἀδελφός σου Ισραηλ Σὺ ἐπίστῃ πάντα τὸν μόχθον τὸν εὑρόντα ἡμᾶς, |
| Israel refused passage through Edom. Nu.20.14-21 | Moses sent messengers from Kadesh to the king of Edom, "Thus says your brother Israel: You know all the adversity that has befallen us: | וַיִּשְׁלַח מֹשֶׁה מַלְאָכִים מִקָּדֵשׁ אֶל־מֶלֶךְ אֱדֹום כֹּה אָמַר אָחִיךָ יִשְׂרָאֵל אַתָּה יָדַעְתָּ אֵת כָּל־הַתְּלָאָה אֲשֶׁר מְצָאָתְנוּ׃ |

| 15 | καὶ κατέβησαν οἱ πατέρες ἡμῶν εἰς Αἴγυπτον, καὶ παρῳκήσαμεν ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ ἡμέρας πλείους, καὶ ἐκάκωσαν ἡμᾶς οἱ Αἰγύπτιοι καὶ τοὺς πατέρας ἡμῶν, |
| | how our fathers went down to Egypt, and we dwelt in Egypt a long time; and the Egyptians dealt harshly with us and our fathers; | וַיֵּרְדוּ אֲבֹתֵינוּ מִצְרַיְמָה וַנֵּשֶׁב בְּמִצְרַיִם יָמִים רַבִּים וַיָּרֵעוּ לָנוּ מִצְרַיִם וְלַאֲבֹתֵינוּ׃ |
15 |
| 16 | καὶ ἀνεβοήσαμεν πρὸς κύριον, καὶ εἰσήκουσεν κύριος τῆς φωνῆς ἡμῶν καὶ ἀποστείλας ἄγγελον ἐξήγαγεν ἡμᾶς ἐξ Αἰγύπτου, καὶ νῦν ἐσμεν ἐν Καδης, πόλει ἐκ μέρους τῶν ὁρίων σου· |
| | and when we cried to the LORD, he heard our voice, and sent an angel and brought us forth out of Egypt; and here we are in Kadesh, a city on the edge of your territory. | וַנִּצְעַק אֶל־יְהוָה וַיִּשְׁמַע קֹלֵנוּ וַיִּשְׁלַח מַלְאָךְ וַיֹּצִאֵנוּ מִמִּצְרָיִם וְהִנֵּה אֲנַחְנוּ בְקָדֵשׁ עִיר קְצֵה גְבוּלֶךָ׃ |

| 17 | παρελευσόμεθα διὰ τῆς γῆς σου, οὐ διελευσόμεθα δι' ἀγρῶν οὐδὲ δι' ἀμπελώνων οὐδὲ πιόμεθα ὕδωρ ἐκ λάκκου σου, ὁδῷ βασιλικῇ πορευσόμεθα, οὐκ ἐκκλινοῦμεν δεξιὰ οὐδὲ εὐώνυμα, ἕως ἂν παρέλθωμεν τὰ ὅριά σου. |
| | Now let us pass through your land. We will not pass through field or vineyard, neither will we drink water from a well; we will go along the King's Highway, we will not turn aside to the right hand or to the left, until we have passed through your territory." | נַעְבְּרָה־נָּא בְאַרְצֶךָ לֹא נַעֲבֹר בְּשָׂדֶה וּבְכֶרֶם וְלֹא נִשְׁתֶּה מֵי בְאֵר דֶּרֶךְ הַמֶּלֶךְ נֵלֵךְ לֹא נִטֶּה יָמִין וּשְׂמֹאול עַד אֲשֶׁר־נַעֲבֹר גְּבוּלֶךָ׃ |

| 18 | καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτὸν Εδωμ Οὐ διελεύσῃ δι' ἐμοῦ· εἰ δὲ μή, ἐν πολέμῳ ἐξελεύσομαι εἰς συνάντησίν σοι. |
| | But Edom said to him, "You shall not pass through, lest I come out with the sword against you." | וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלָיו אֱדֹום לֹא תַעֲבֹר בִּי פֶּן־בַּחֶרֶב אֵצֵא לִקְרָאתֶךָ׃ |

| 19 | καὶ λέγουσιν αὐτῷ οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ Παρὰ τὸ ὄρος παρελευσόμεθα· ἐὰν δὲ τοῦ ὕδατός σου πίωμεν ἐγώ τε καὶ τὰ κτήνη, δώσω τιμήν σοι· ἀλλὰ τὸ πρᾶγμα οὐδέν ἐστιν, παρὰ τὸ ὄρος παρελευσόμεθα. |
| | And the people of Israel said to him, "We will go up by the highway; and if we drink of your water, I and my cattle, then I will pay for it; let me only pass through on foot, nothing more." | וַיֹּאמְרוּ אֵלָיו בְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל בַּמְסִלָּה נַעֲלֶה וְאִם־מֵימֶיךָ נִשְׁתֶּה אֲנִי וּמִקְנַי וְנָתַתִּי מִכְרָם רַק אֵין־דָּבָר בְּרַגְלַי אֶעֱבֹרָה׃ |

| 20 | ὁ δὲ εἶπεν Οὐ διελεύσῃ δι' ἐμοῦ· καὶ ἐξῆλθεν Εδωμ εἰς συνάντησιν αὐτῷ ἐν ὄχλῳ βαρεῖ καὶ ἐν χειρὶ ἰσχυρᾷ. |
| | But he said, "You shall not pass through." And Edom came out against them with many men, and with a strong force. | וַיֹּאמֶר לֹא תַעֲבֹר וַיֵּצֵא אֱדֹום לִקְרָאתֹו בְּעַם כָּבֵד וּבְיָד חֲזָקָה׃ |

| 21 | καὶ οὐκ ἠθέλησεν Εδωμ δοῦναι τῷ Ισραηλ παρελθεῖν διὰ τῶν ὁρίων αὐτοῦ· καὶ ἐξέκλινεν Ισραηλ ἀπ' αὐτοῦ. |
| | Thus Edom refused to give Israel passage through his territory; so Israel turned away from him. | וַיְמָאֵן אֱדֹום נְתֹן אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵל עֲבֹר בִּגְבֻלֹו וַיֵּט יִשְׂרָאֵל מֵעָלָיו׃ ף |

| 22 | Καὶ ἀπῆραν ἐκ Καδης· καὶ παρεγένοντο οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ, πᾶσα ἡ συναγωγή, εἰς Ωρ τὸ ὄρος. |
| Death of Aaron. Nu.20.22-29 | And they journeyed from Kadesh, and the people of Israel, the whole congregation, came to Mount Hor. | וַיִּסְעוּ מִקָּדֵשׁ וַיָּבֹאוּ בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל כָּל־הָעֵדָה הֹר הָהָר׃ |

| 23 | καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν καὶ Ααρων ἐν Ωρ τῷ ὄρει ἐπὶ τῶν ὁρίων γῆς Εδωμ λέγων |
| | And the LORD said to Moses and Aaron at Mount Hor, on the border of the land of Edom, | וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה וְאֶל־אַהֲרֹן בְּהֹר הָהָר עַל־גְּבוּל אֶרֶץ־אֱדֹום לֵאמֹר׃ |

| 24 | Προστεθήτω Ααρων πρὸς τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ, ὅτι οὐ μὴ εἰσέλθητε εἰς τὴν γῆν, ἣν δέδωκα τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ, διότι παρωξύνατέ με ἐπὶ τοῦ ὕδατος τῆς λοιδορίας. |
| | "Aaron shall be gathered to his people; for he shall not enter the land which I have given to the people of Israel, because you rebelled against my command at the waters of Mer'ibah. | יֵאָסֵף אַהֲרֹן אֶל־עַמָּיו כִּי לֹא יָבֹא אֶל־הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר נָתַתִּי לִבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל עַל אֲשֶׁר־מְרִיתֶם אֶת־פִּי לְמֵי מְרִיבָה׃ |

| 25 | λαβὲ τὸν Ααρων καὶ Ελεαζαρ τὸν υἱὸν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀναβίβασον αὐτοὺς εἰς Ωρ τὸ ὄρος ἔναντι πάσης τῆς συναγωγῆς |
| | Take Aaron and Elea'zar his son, and bring them up to Mount Hor; | קַח אֶת־אַהֲרֹן וְאֶת־אֶלְעָזָר בְּנֹו וְהַעַל אֹתָם הֹר הָהָר׃ |

| 26 | καὶ ἔκδυσον Ααρων τὴν στολὴν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔνδυσον Ελεαζαρ τὸν υἱὸν αὐτοῦ, καὶ Ααρων προστεθεὶς ἀποθανέτω ἐκεῖ. |
| | and strip Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Elea'zar his son; and Aaron shall be gathered to his people, and shall die there." | וְהַפְשֵׁט אֶת־אַהֲרֹן אֶת־בְּגָדָיו וְהִלְבַּשְׁתָּם אֶת־אֶלְעָזָר בְּנֹו וְאַהֲרֹן יֵאָסֵף וּמֵת שָׁם׃ |

| 27 | καὶ ἐποίησεν Μωϋσῆς καθὰ συνέταξεν κύριος, καὶ ἀνεβίβασεν αὐτὸν εἰς Ωρ τὸ ὄρος ἐναντίον πάσης τῆς συναγωγῆς. |
| | Moses did as the LORD commanded; and they went up Mount Hor in the sight of all the congregation. | וַיַּעַשׂ מֹשֶׁה כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוָה וַיַּעֲלוּ אֶל־הֹר הָהָר לְעֵינֵי כָּל־הָעֵדָה׃ |
27 |
| 28 | καὶ ἐξέδυσεν Ααρων τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐνέδυσεν αὐτὰ Ελεαζαρ τὸν υἱὸν αὐτοῦ· καὶ ἀπέθανεν Ααρων ἐπὶ τῆς κορυφῆς τοῦ ὄρους, καὶ κατέβη Μωϋσῆς καὶ Ελεαζαρ ἐκ τοῦ ὄρους. |
| | And Moses stripped Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Elea'zar his son; and Aaron died there on the top of the mountain. Then Moses and Elea'zar came down from the mountain. | וַיַּפְשֵׁט מֹשֶׁה אֶת־אַהֲרֹן אֶת־בְּגָדָיו וַיַּלְבֵּשׁ אֹתָם אֶת־אֶלְעָזָר בְּנֹו וַיָּמָת אַהֲרֹן שָׁם בְּרֹאשׁ הָהָר וַיֵּרֶד מֹשֶׁה וְאֶלְעָזָר מִן־הָהָר׃ |
28 |
| 29 | καὶ εἶδεν πᾶσα ἡ συναγωγὴ ὅτι ἀπελύθη Ααρων, καὶ ἔκλαυσαν τὸν Ααρων τριάκοντα ἡμέρας πᾶς οἶκος Ισραηλ. |
| | And when all the congregation saw that Aaron was dead, all the house of Israel wept for Aaron thirty days. | וַיִּרְאוּ כָּל־הָעֵדָה כִּי גָוַע אַהֲרֹן וַיִּבְכּוּ אֶת־אַהֲרֹן שְׁלֹשִׁים יֹום כֹּל בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל׃ ס |
