| The red heifer. Nu.19.1-10 | Now the LORD said to Moses and to Aaron, | וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה וְאֶל־אַהֲרֹן לֵאמֹר׃ |

| 2 | Αὕτη ἡ διαστολὴ τοῦ νόμου, ὅσα συνέταξεν κύριος λέγων Λάλησον τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ καὶ λαβέτωσαν πρὸς σὲ δάμαλιν πυρρὰν ἄμωμον, ἥτις οὐκ ἔχει ἐν αὐτῇ μῶμον καὶ ᾗ οὐκ ἐπεβλήθη ἐπ' αὐτὴν ζυγός. |
| | "This is the statute of the law which the LORD has commanded: Tell the people of Israel to bring you a red heifer without defect, in which there is no blemish, and upon which a yoke has never come. | זֹאת חֻקַּת הַתֹּורָה אֲשֶׁר־צִוָּה יְהוָה לֵאמֹר דַּבֵּר אֶל־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְיִקְחוּ אֵלֶיךָ פָרָה אֲדֻמָּה תְּמִימָה אֲשֶׁר אֵין־בָּהּ מוּם אֲשֶׁר לֹא־עָלָה עָלֶיהָ עֹל׃ |

| 3 | καὶ δώσεις αὐτὴν πρὸς Ελεαζαρ τὸν ἱερέα, καὶ ἐξάξουσιν αὐτὴν ἔξω τῆς παρεμβολῆς εἰς τόπον καθαρὸν καὶ σφάξουσιν αὐτὴν ἐνώπιον αὐτοῦ. |
| | And you shall give her to Elea'zar the priest, and she shall be taken outside the camp and slaughtered before him; | וּנְתַתֶּם אֹתָהּ אֶל־אֶלְעָזָר הַכֹּהֵן וְהֹוצִיא אֹתָהּ אֶל־מִחוּץ לַמַּחֲנֶה וְשָׁחַט אֹתָהּ לְפָנָיו׃ |

| 4 | καὶ λήμψεται Ελεαζαρ ἀπὸ τοῦ αἵματος αὐτῆς καὶ ῥανεῖ ἀπέναντι τοῦ προσώπου τῆς σκηνῆς τοῦ μαρτυρίου ἀπὸ τοῦ αἵματος αὐτῆς ἑπτάκις. |
| | and Elea'zar the priest shall take some of her blood with his finger, and sprinkle some of her blood toward the front of the tent of meeting seven times. | וְלָקַח אֶלְעָזָר הַכֹּהֵן מִדָּמָהּ בְּאֶצְבָּעֹו וְהִזָּה אֶל־נֹכַח פְּנֵי אֹהֶל־מֹועֵד מִדָּמָהּ שֶׁבַע פְּעָמִים׃ |

| 5 | καὶ κατακαύσουσιν αὐτὴν ἐναντίον αὐτοῦ, καὶ τὸ δέρμα καὶ τὰ κρέα αὐτῆς καὶ τὸ αἷμα αὐτῆς σὺν τῇ κόπρῳ αὐτῆς κατακαυθήσεται. |
| | And the heifer shall be burned in his sight; her skin, her flesh, and her blood, with her dung, shall be burned; | וְשָׂרַף אֶת־הַפָּרָה לְעֵינָיו אֶת־עֹרָהּ וְאֶת־בְּשָׂרָהּ וְאֶת־דָּמָהּ עַל־פִּרְשָׁהּ יִשְׂרֹף׃ |

| 6 | καὶ λήμψεται ὁ ἱερεὺς ξύλον κέδρινον καὶ ὕσσωπον καὶ κόκκινον καὶ ἐμβαλοῦσιν εἰς μέσον τοῦ κατακαύματος τῆς δαμάλεως. |
| | and the priest shall take cedarwood and hyssop and scarlet stuff, and cast them into the midst of the burning of the heifer. | וְלָקַח הַכֹּהֵן עֵץ אֶרֶז וְאֵזֹוב וּשְׁנִי תֹולָעַת וְהִשְׁלִיךְ אֶל־תֹּוךְ שְׂרֵפַת הַפָּרָה׃ |

| 7 | καὶ πλυνεῖ τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦ ὁ ἱερεὺς καὶ λούσεται τὸ σῶμα αὐτοῦ ὕδατι καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα εἰσελεύσεται εἰς τὴν παρεμβολήν, καὶ ἀκάθαρτος ἔσται ὁ ἱερεὺς ἕως ἑσπέρας. |
| | Then the priest shall wash his clothes and bathe his body in water, and afterwards he shall come into the camp; and the priest shall be unclean until evening. | וְכִבֶּס בְּגָדָיו הַכֹּהֵן וְרָחַץ בְּשָׂרֹו בַּמַּיִם וְאַחַר יָבֹוא אֶל־הַמַּחֲנֶה וְטָמֵא הַכֹּהֵן עַד־הָעָרֶב׃ |

| 8 | καὶ ὁ κατακαίων αὐτὴν πλυνεῖ τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦ καὶ λούσεται τὸ σῶμα αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀκάθαρτος ἔσται ἕως ἑσπέρας. |
| | He who burns the heifer shall wash his clothes in water and bathe his body in water, and shall be unclean until evening. | וְהַשֹּׂרֵף אֹתָהּ יְכַבֵּס בְּגָדָיו בַּמַּיִם וְרָחַץ בְּשָׂרֹו בַּמָּיִם וְטָמֵא עַד־הָעָרֶב׃ |

| 9 | καὶ συνάξει ἄνθρωπος καθαρὸς τὴν σποδὸν τῆς δαμάλεως καὶ ἀποθήσει ἔξω τῆς παρεμβολῆς εἰς τόπον καθαρόν, καὶ ἔσται τῇ συναγωγῇ υἱῶν Ισραηλ εἰς διατήρησιν, ὕδωρ ῥαντισμοῦ· ἅγνισμά ἐστιν. |
| | And a man who is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and deposit them outside the camp in a clean place; and they shall be kept for the congregation of the people of Israel for the water for impurity, for the removal of sin. | וְאָסַף אִישׁ טָהֹור אֵת אֵפֶר הַפָּרָה וְהִנִּיחַ מִחוּץ לַמַּחֲנֶה בְּמָקֹום טָהֹור וְהָיְתָה לַעֲדַת בְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל לְמִשְׁמֶרֶת לְמֵי נִדָּה חַטָּאת הִוא׃ |

| 10 | καὶ πλυνεῖ τὰ ἱμάτια ὁ συνάγων τὴν σποδιὰν τῆς δαμάλεως καὶ ἀκάθαρτος ἔσται ἕως ἑσπέρας. καὶ ἔσται τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ καὶ τοῖς προσκειμένοις προσηλύτοις νόμιμον αἰώνιον. |
| | And he who gathers the ashes of the heifer shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until evening. And this shall be to the people of Israel, and to the stranger who sojourns among them, a perpetual statute. | וְכִבֶּס הָאֹסֵף אֶת־אֵפֶר הַפָּרָה אֶת־בְּגָדָיו וְטָמֵא עַד־הָעָרֶב וְהָיְתָה לִבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְלַגֵּר הַגָּר בְּתֹוכָם לְחֻקַּת עֹולָם׃ |

| 11 | Ὁ ἁπτόμενος τοῦ τεθνηκότος πάσης ψυχῆς ἀνθρώπου ἀκάθαρτος ἔσται ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας· |
| Purification. Nu.19.11-22 | "He who touches the dead body of any person shall be unclean seven days; | הַנֹּגֵעַ בְּמֵת לְכָל־נֶפֶשׁ אָדָם וְטָמֵא שִׁבְעַת יָמִים׃ |

| 12 | οὗτος ἁγνισθήσεται τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ τρίτῃ καὶ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ ἑβδόμῃ καὶ καθαρὸς ἔσται· ἐὰν δὲ μὴ ἀφαγνισθῇ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ τρίτῃ καὶ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ ἑβδόμῃ, οὐ καθαρὸς ἔσται. |
| | he shall cleanse himself with the water on the third day and on the seventh day, and so be clean; but if he does not cleanse himself on the third day and on the seventh day, he will not become clean. | הוּא יִתְחַטָּא־בֹו בַּיֹּום הַשְּׁלִישִׁי וּבַיֹּום הַשְּׁבִיעִי יִטְהָר וְאִם־לֹא יִתְחַטָּא בַּיֹּום הַשְּׁלִישִׁי וּבַיֹּום הַשְּׁבִיעִי לֹא יִטְהָר׃ |

| 13 | πᾶς ὁ ἁπτόμενος τοῦ τεθνηκότος ἀπὸ ψυχῆς ἀνθρώπου, ἐὰν ἀποθάνῃ, καὶ μὴ ἀφαγνισθῇ, τὴν σκηνὴν κυρίου ἐμίανεν· ἐκτριβήσεται ἡ ψυχὴ ἐκείνη ἐξ Ισραηλ· ὅτι ὕδωρ ῥαντισμοῦ οὐ περιερραντίσθη ἐπ' αὐτόν, ἀκάθαρτός ἐστιν, ἔτι ἡ ἀκαθαρσία αὐτοῦ ἐν αὐτῷ ἐστιν. |
| | Whoever touches a dead person, the body of any man who has died, and does not cleanse himself, defiles the tabernacle of the LORD, and that person shall be cut off from Israel; because the water for impurity was not thrown upon him, he shall be unclean; his uncleanness is still on him. | כָּל־הַנֹּגֵעַ בְּמֵת בְּנֶפֶשׁ הָאָדָם אֲשֶׁר־יָמוּת וְלֹא יִתְחַטָּא אֶת־מִשְׁכַּן יְהוָה טִמֵּא וְנִכְרְתָה הַנֶּפֶשׁ הַהִוא מִיִּשְׂרָאֵל כִּי מֵי נִדָּה לֹא־זֹרַק עָלָיו טָמֵא יִהְיֶה עֹוד טֻמְאָתֹו בֹו׃ |

| 14 | Καὶ οὗτος ὁ νόμος· ἄνθρωπος ἐὰν ἀποθάνῃ ἐν οἰκίᾳ, πᾶς ὁ εἰσπορευόμενος εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν καὶ ὅσα ἐστὶν ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ, ἀκάθαρτα ἔσται ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας· |
| | "This is the law when a man dies in a tent: every one who comes into the tent, and every one who is in the tent, shall be unclean seven days. | זֹאת הַתֹּורָה אָדָם כִּי־יָמוּת בְּאֹהֶל כָּל־הַבָּא אֶל־הָאֹהֶל וְכָל־אֲשֶׁר בָּאֹהֶל יִטְמָא שִׁבְעַת יָמִים׃ |
14 |
| 15 | καὶ πᾶν σκεῦος ἀνεῳγμένον, ὅσα οὐχὶ δεσμὸν καταδέδεται ἐπ' αὐτῷ, ἀκάθαρτά ἐστιν. |
| | And every open vessel, which has no cover fastened upon it, is unclean. | וְכֹל כְּלִי פָתוּחַ אֲשֶׁר אֵין־צָמִיד פָּתִיל עָלָיו טָמֵא הוּא׃ |

| 16 | καὶ πᾶς, ὃς ἐὰν ἅψηται ἐπὶ προσώπου τοῦ πεδίου τραυματίου ἢ νεκροῦ ἢ ὀστέου ἀνθρωπίνου ἢ μνήματος, ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας ἀκάθαρτος ἔσται. |
| | Whoever in the open field touches one who is slain with a sword, or a dead body, or a bone of a man, or a grave, shall be unclean seven days. | וְכֹל אֲשֶׁר־יִגַּע עַל־פְּנֵי הַשָּׂדֶה בַּחֲלַל־חֶרֶב אֹו בְמֵת אֹו־בְעֶצֶם אָדָם אֹו בְקָבֶר יִטְמָא שִׁבְעַת יָמִים׃ |
16 |
| 17 | καὶ λήμψονται τῷ ἀκαθάρτῳ ἀπὸ τῆς σποδιᾶς τῆς κατακεκαυμένης τοῦ ἁγνισμοῦ καὶ ἐκχεοῦσιν ἐπ' αὐτὴν ὕδωρ ζῶν εἰς σκεῦος· |
| | For the unclean they shall take some ashes of the burnt sin offering, and running water shall be added in a vessel; | וְלָקְחוּ לַטָּמֵא מֵעֲפַר שְׂרֵפַת הַחַטָּאת וְנָתַן עָלָיו מַיִם חַיִּים אֶל־כֶּלִי׃ |
17 |
| 18 | καὶ λήμψεται ὕσσωπον καὶ βάψει εἰς τὸ ὕδωρ ἀνὴρ καθαρὸς καὶ περιρρανεῖ ἐπὶ τὸν οἶκον καὶ ἐπὶ τὰ σκεύη καὶ ἐπὶ τὰς ψυχάς, ὅσαι ἐὰν ὦσιν ἐκεῖ, καὶ ἐπὶ τὸν ἡμμένον τοῦ ὀστέου τοῦ ἀνθρωπίνου ἢ τοῦ τραυματίου ἢ τοῦ τεθνηκότος ἢ τοῦ μνήματος· |
| | then a clean person shall take hyssop, and dip it in the water, and sprinkle it upon the tent, and upon all the furnishings, and upon the persons who were there, and upon him who touched the bone, or the slain, or the dead, or the grave; | וְלָקַח אֵזֹוב וְטָבַל בַּמַּיִם אִישׁ טָהֹור וְהִזָּה עַל־הָאֹהֶל וְעַל־כָּל־הַכֵּלִים וְעַל־הַנְּפָשֹׁות אֲשֶׁר הָיוּ־שָׁם וְעַל־הַנֹּגֵעַ בַּעֶצֶם אֹו בֶחָלָל אֹו בַמֵּת אֹו בַקָּבֶר׃ |

| 19 | καὶ περιρρανεῖ ὁ καθαρὸς ἐπὶ τὸν ἀκάθαρτον ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ τρίτῃ καὶ ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ ἑβδόμῃ, καὶ ἀφαγνισθήσεται τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ ἑβδόμῃ καὶ πλυνεῖ τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦ καὶ λούσεται ὕδατι καὶ ἀκάθαρτος ἔσται ἕως ἑσπέρας. |
| | and the clean person shall sprinkle upon the unclean on the third day and on the seventh day; thus on the seventh day he shall cleanse him, and he shall wash his clothes and bathe himself in water, and at evening he shall be clean. | וְהִזָּה הַטָּהֹר עַל־הַטָּמֵא בַּיֹּום הַשְּׁלִישִׁי וּבַיֹּום הַשְּׁבִיעִי וְחִטְּאֹו בַּיֹּום הַשְּׁבִיעִי וְכִבֶּס בְּגָדָיו וְרָחַץ בַּמַּיִם וְטָהֵר בָּעָרֶב׃ |

| 20 | καὶ ἄνθρωπος, ὃς ἐὰν μιανθῇ καὶ μὴ ἀφαγνισθῇ, ἐξολεθρευθήσεται ἡ ψυχὴ ἐκείνη ἐκ μέσου τῆς συναγωγῆς, ὅτι τὰ ἅγια κυρίου ἐμίανεν, ὅτι ὕδωρ ῥαντισμοῦ οὐ περιερραντίσθη ἐπ' αὐτόν, ἀκάθαρτός ἐστιν. |
| | "But the man who is unclean and does not cleanse himself, that person shall be cut off from the midst of the assembly, since he has defiled the sanctuary of the LORD; because the water for impurity has not been thrown upon him, he is unclean. | וְאִישׁ אֲשֶׁר־יִטְמָא וְלֹא יִתְחַטָּא וְנִכְרְתָה הַנֶּפֶשׁ הַהִוא מִתֹּוךְ הַקָּהָל כִּי אֶת־מִקְדַּשׁ יְהוָה טִמֵּא מֵי נִדָּה לֹא־זֹרַק עָלָיו טָמֵא הוּא׃ |
20 |
| 21 | καὶ ἔσται ὑμῖν νόμιμον αἰώνιον· καὶ ὁ περιρραίνων ὕδωρ ῥαντισμοῦ πλυνεῖ τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦ, καὶ ὁ ἁπτόμενος τοῦ ὕδατος τοῦ ῥαντισμοῦ ἀκάθαρτος ἔσται ἕως ἑσπέρας· |
| | And it shall be a perpetual statute for them. He who sprinkles the water for impurity shall wash his clothes; and he who touches the water for impurity shall be unclean until evening. | וְהָיְתָה לָּהֶם לְחֻקַּת עֹולָם וּמַזֵּה מֵי־הַנִּדָּה יְכַבֵּס בְּגָדָיו וְהַנֹּגֵעַ בְּמֵי הַנִּדָּה יִטְמָא עַד־הָעָרֶב׃ |
21 |
| 22 | καὶ παντός, οὗ ἐὰν ἅψηται αὐτοῦ ὁ ἀκάθαρτος, ἀκάθαρτον ἔσται, καὶ ἡ ψυχὴ ἡ ἁπτομένη ἀκάθαρτος ἔσται ἕως ἑσπέρας. |
| | And whatever the unclean person touches shall be unclean; and any one who touches it shall be unclean until evening." | וְכֹל אֲשֶׁר־יִגַּע־בֹּו הַטָּמֵא יִטְמָא וְהַנֶּפֶשׁ הַנֹּגַעַת תִּטְמָא עַד־הָעָרֶב׃ ף |
