13 | Cum autem esset Josue in agro urbis Jericho, levavit oculos, et vidit virum stantem contra se, evaginatum tenentem gladium: perrexitque ad eum, et ait: Noster es, an adversariorum? |
Sothely whanne Josue was in the feeld of the cite of Jerico, he reiside the iyen, and siy a man stondynge ayens hym, and holdynge a drawun swerd; and Josue yede out to hym, and seide, Art thou oure, ethir of aduersaries? |

14 | Qui respondit: Nequaquam: sed sum princeps exercitus Domini, et nunc venio. |
To whom he answeride, Nay, but Y am prince of the hoost of the Lord, and now Y come. |
And he answered: No: but I am prince of the host of the Lord, and now I am come. | |
15 | Cecidit Josue pronus in terram, et adorans ait: Quid dominus meus loquitur ad servum suum? |
Josue felde lowe to erthe, and worschipide, and seide, What spekith my Lord to his seruaunt? |
Josue fell on his face to the ground. And worshipping, add: What saith my lord to his servant? | |
