| 6 | So, when Jesus said to them, 'Beware, be on your guard against the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees', | | ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς, Ὁρᾶτε καὶ προσέχετε ἀπὸ τῆς ζύμης τῶν Φαρισαίων καὶ Σαδδουκαίων. |

| 7 | they began to say among themselves, 'It is because we have brought no bread!' | | οἱ δὲ διελογίζοντο ἐν ἑαυτοῖς λέγοντες ὅτι Ἄρτους οὐκ ἐλάβομεν. |

| 8 | Knowing what was in their minds, Jesus said to them: 'Why do you talk about bringing no bread? Where is your faith? | | γνοὺς δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν, Τί διαλογίζεσθε ἐν ἑαυτοῖς, ὀλιγόπιστοι, ὅτι ἀρτους οὐκ ἐχετὲ; |

| 9 | Do you not understand even yet? Do you not remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many basketfuls you picked up? | | οὐπω νοεῖτε, οὐδὲ μνημονεύετε τοὺς πέντε ἀρτους τῶν πεντακισχιλίων καὶ πόσους κοφίνους ἐλάβετὲ; |

| 10 | Or the seven loaves for the four thousand, and how many basketfuls you picked up? | | οὐδὲ τοὺς ἑπτὰ ἀρτους τῶν τετρακισχιλίων καὶ πόσας σπυρίδας ἐλάβετὲ; |

| 11 | How can you fail to see that I was not speaking about bread? Be on your guard, I said, against the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.' | | πῶς οὐ νοεῖτε ὅτι οὐ περὶ ἀρτων εἶπον ὑμῖν; προσέχετε δὲ ἀπὸ τῆς ζύμης τῶν Φαρισαίων καὶ Σαδδουκαίων. |

| 12 | Then they understood: they were to be on their guard, not against baker's leaven, but against the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
| | τότε συνῆκαν ὅτι οὐκ εἶπεν προσέχειν ἀπὸ τῆς ζύμης τῶν ἀρτων ἀλλὰ ἀπὸ τῆς διδαχῆς τῶν Φαρισαίων καὶ Σαδδουκαίων. |
