Yahweh said to Moses, | Laws about sacrifice. Nu.15.1-31 | וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר׃ |
| 2 |
"Say to the people of Israel, When you come into the land you are to inhabit, which I give you, | | דַּבֵּר אֶל־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְאָמַרְתָּ אֲלֵהֶם כִּי תָבֹאוּ אֶל־אֶרֶץ מֹושְׁבֹתֵיכֶם אֲשֶׁר אֲנִי נֹתֵן לָכֶם׃ |

and you offer to Yahweh from the herd or from the flock an offering by fire or a burnt offering or a sacrifice, to fulfil a vow or as a freewill offering or at your appointed feasts, to make a pleasing odour to Yahweh, | | וַעֲשִׂיתֶם אִשֶּׁה לַיהוָה עֹלָה אֹו־זֶבַח לְפַלֵּא־נֶדֶר אֹו בִנְדָבָה אֹו בְּמֹעֲדֵיכֶם לַעֲשֹׂות רֵיחַ נִיחֹחַ לַיהוָה מִן־הַבָּקָר אֹו מִן־הַצֹּאן׃ |
| 4 |
then he who brings his offering shall offer to Yahweh a cereal offering of a tenth of an ephah of fine flour, mixed with a fourth of a hin of oil; | | וְהִקְרִיב הַמַּקְרִיב קָרְבָּנֹו לַיהוָה מִנְחָה סֹלֶת עִשָּׂרֹון בָּלוּל בִּרְבִעִית הַהִין שָׁמֶן׃ |

and wine for the drink offering, a fourth of a hin, you shall prepare with the burnt offering, or for the sacrifice, for each lamb. | | וְיַיִן לַנֶּסֶךְ רְבִיעִית הַהִין תַּעֲשֶׂה עַל־הָעֹלָה אֹו לַזָּבַח לַכֶּבֶשׂ הָאֶחָד׃ |

Or for a ram, you shall prepare for a cereal offering two tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with a third of a hin of oil; | | אֹו לָאַיִל תַּעֲשֶׂה מִנְחָה סֹלֶת שְׁנֵי עֶשְׂרֹנִים בְּלוּלָה בַשֶּׁמֶן שְׁלִשִׁית הַהִין׃ |
| 7 |
and for the drink offering you shall offer a third of a hin of wine, a pleasing odour to Yahweh. | | וְיַיִן לַנֶּסֶךְ שְׁלִשִׁית הַהִין תַּקְרִיב רֵיחַ־נִיחֹחַ לַיהוָה׃ |
| 8 |
And when you prepare a bull for a burnt offering, or for a sacrifice, to fulfil a vow, or for peace offerings to Yahweh, | | וְכִי־תַעֲשֶׂה בֶן־בָּקָר עֹלָה אֹו־זָבַח לְפַלֵּא־נֶדֶר אֹו־שְׁלָמִים לַיהוָה׃ |
| 9 |
then one shall offer with the bull a cereal offering of three tenths of an ephah of fine flour, mixed with half a hin of oil, | | וְהִקְרִיב עַל־בֶּן־הַבָּקָר מִנְחָה סֹלֶת שְׁלֹשָׁה עֶשְׂרֹנִים בָּלוּל בַּשֶּׁמֶן חֲצִי הַהִין׃ |
| 10 |
and you shall offer for the drink offering half a hin of wine, as an offering by fire, a pleasing odour to Yahweh. | | וְיַיִן תַּקְרִיב לַנֶּסֶךְ חֲצִי הַהִין אִשֵּׁה רֵיחַ־נִיחֹחַ לַיהוָה׃ |

"Thus it shall be done for each bull or ram, or for each of the male lambs or the kids. | | כָּכָה יֵעָשֶׂה לַשֹּׁור הָאֶחָד אֹו לָאַיִל הָאֶחָד אֹו־לַשֶּׂה בַכְּבָשִׂים אֹו בָעִזִּים׃ |
| 12 |
According to the number that you prepare, so shall you do with every one according to their number. | | כַּמִּסְפָּר אֲשֶׁר תַּעֲשׂוּ כָּכָה תַּעֲשׂוּ לָאֶחָד כְּמִסְפָּרָם׃ |
| 13 |
All who are native shall do these things in this way, in offering an offering by fire, a pleasing odour to Yahweh. | | כָּל־הָאֶזְרָח יַעֲשֶׂה־כָּכָה אֶת־אֵלֶּה לְהַקְרִיב אִשֵּׁה רֵיחַ־נִיחֹחַ לַיהוָה׃ |
| 14 |
And if a stranger is sojourning with you, or any one is among you throughout your generations, and he wishes to offer an offering by fire, a pleasing odour to Yahweh, he shall do as you do. | | וְכִי־יָגוּר אִתְּכֶם גֵּר אֹו אֲשֶׁר־בְּתֹוכְכֶם לְדֹרֹתֵיכֶם וְעָשָׂה אִשֵּׁה רֵיחַ־נִיחֹחַ לַיהוָה כַּאֲשֶׁר תַּעֲשׂוּ כֵּן יַעֲשֶׂה׃ |
| 15 |
For the assembly, there shall be one statute for you and for the stranger who sojourns with you, a perpetual statute throughout your generations; as you are, so shall the sojourner be before Yahweh. | | הַקָּהָל חֻקָּה אַחַת לָכֶם וְלַגֵּר הַגָּר חֻקַּת עֹולָם לְדֹרֹתֵיכֶם כָּכֶם כַּגֵּר יִהְיֶה לִפְנֵי יְהוָה׃ |
| 16 |
One law and one ordinance shall be for you and for the stranger who sojourns with you." | | תֹּורָה אַחַת וּמִשְׁפָּט אֶחָד יִהְיֶה לָכֶם וְלַגֵּר הַגָּר אִתְּכֶם׃ ף |
| 17 |
Yahweh said to Moses, | | וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר׃ |
| 18 |
"Say to the people of Israel, When you come into the land to which I bring you | | דַּבֵּר אֶל־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְאָמַרְתָּ אֲלֵהֶם בְּבֹאֲכֶם אֶל־הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר אֲנִי מֵבִיא אֶתְכֶם שָׁמָּה׃ |
| 19 |
and when you eat of the food of the land, you shall present an offering to Yahweh. | | וְהָיָה בַּאֲכָלְכֶם מִלֶּחֶם הָאָרֶץ תָּרִימוּ תְרוּמָה לַיהוָה׃ |
| 20 |
Of the first of your coarse meal you shall present a cake as an offering; as an offering from the threshing floor, so shall you present it. | | רֵאשִׁית עֲרִסֹתֵכֶם חַלָּה תָּרִימוּ תְרוּמָה כִּתְרוּמַת גֹּרֶן כֵּן תָּרִימוּ אֹתָהּ׃ |
| 21 |
Of the first of your coarse meal you shall give to Yahweh an offering throughout your generations. | | מֵרֵאשִׁית עֲרִסֹתֵיכֶם תִּתְּנוּ לַיהוָה תְּרוּמָה לְדֹרֹתֵיכֶם׃ ס |
| 22 |
"But if you err, and do not observe all these commandments which Yahweh has spoken to Moses, | | וְכִי תִשְׁגּוּ וְלֹא תַעֲשׂוּ אֵת כָּל־הַמִּצְוֹת הָאֵלֶּה אֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּר יְהוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה׃ |
| 23 |
all that Yahweh has commanded you by Moses, from the day that Yahweh gave commandment, and onward throughout your generations, | | אֵת כָּל־אֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוָה אֲלֵיכֶם בְּיַד־מֹשֶׁה מִן־הַיֹּום אֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוָה וָהָלְאָה לְדֹרֹתֵיכֶם׃ |
| 24 |
then if it was done unwittingly without the knowledge of the congregation, all the congregation shall offer one young bull for a burnt offering, a pleasing odour to Yahweh, with its cereal offering and its drink offering, according to the ordinance, and one male goat for a sin offering. | | וְהָיָה אִם מֵעֵינֵי הָעֵדָה נֶעֶשְׂתָה לִשְׁגָגָה וְעָשׂוּ כָל־הָעֵדָה פַּר בֶּן־בָּקָר אֶחָד לְעֹלָה לְרֵיחַ נִיחֹחַ לַיהוָה וּמִנְחָתֹו וְנִסְכֹּו כַּמִּשְׁפָּט וּשְׂעִיר־עִזִּים אֶחָד לְחַטָּת׃ |
| 25 |
And the priest shall make atonement for all the congregation of the people of Israel, and they shall be forgiven; because it was an error, and they have brought their offering, an offering by fire to Yahweh, and their sin offering before Yahweh, for their error. | | וְכִפֶּר הַכֹּהֵן עַל־כָּל־עֲדַת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְנִסְלַח לָהֶם כִּי־שְׁגָגָה הִוא וְהֵם הֵבִיאוּ אֶת־קָרְבָּנָם אִשֶּׁה לַיהוָה וְחַטָּאתָם לִפְנֵי יְהוָה עַל־שִׁגְגָתָם׃ |
| 26 |
And all the congregation of the people of Israel shall be forgiven, and the stranger who sojourns among them, because the whole population was involved in the error. | | וְנִסְלַח לְכָל־עֲדַת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְלַגֵּר הַגָּר בְּתֹוכָם כִּי לְכָל־הָעָם בִּשְׁגָגָה׃ ס |
| 27 |
"If one person sins unwittingly, he shall offer a female goat a year old for a sin offering. | | וְאִם־נֶפֶשׁ אַחַת תֶּחֱטָא בִשְׁגָגָה וְהִקְרִיבָה עֵז בַּת־שְׁנָתָהּ לְחַטָּאת׃ |
| 28 |
And the priest shall make atonement before Yahweh for the person who commits an error, when he sins unwittingly, to make atonement for him; and he shall be forgiven. | | וְכִפֶּר הַכֹּהֵן עַל־הַנֶּפֶשׁ הַשֹּׁגֶגֶת בְּחֶטְאָה בִשְׁגָגָה לִפְנֵי יְהוָה לְכַפֵּר עָלָיו וְנִסְלַח לֹו׃ |
| 29 |
You shall have one law for him who does anything unwittingly, for him who is native among the people of Israel, and for the stranger who sojourns among them. | | הָאֶזְרָח בִּבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְלַגֵּר הַגָּר בְּתֹוכָם תֹּורָה אַחַת יִהְיֶה לָכֶם לָעֹשֶׂה בִּשְׁגָגָה׃ |
| 30 |
But the person who does anything with a high hand, whether he is native or a sojourner, reviles Yahweh, and that person shall be cut off from among his people. | | וְהַנֶּפֶשׁ אֲשֶׁר־תַּעֲשֶׂה בְּיָד רָמָה מִן־הָאֶזְרָח וּמִן־הַגֵּר אֶת־יְהוָה הוּא מְגַדֵּף וְנִכְרְתָה הַנֶּפֶשׁ הַהִוא מִקֶּרֶב עַמָּהּ׃ |
| 31 |
Because he has despised the word of Yahweh, and has broken his commandment, that person shall be utterly cut off; his iniquity shall be upon him." | | כִּי דְבַר־יְהוָה בָּזָה וְאֶת־מִצְוָתֹו הֵפַר הִכָּרֵת תִּכָּרֵת הַנֶּפֶשׁ הַהִוא עֲוֹנָה בָהּ׃ ף |
| 32 |
While the people of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering sticks on the sabbath day. | The sabbath breakers. Nu.15.32-36 | וַיִּהְיוּ בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל בַּמִּדְבָּר וַיִּמְצְאוּ אִישׁ מְקֹשֵׁשׁ עֵצִים בְּיֹום הַשַּׁבָּת׃ |
| 33 |
And those who found him gathering sticks brought him to Moses and Aaron, and to all the congregation. | | וַיַּקְרִיבוּ אֹתֹו הַמֹּצְאִים אֹתֹו מְקֹשֵׁשׁ עֵצִים אֶל־מֹשֶׁה וְאֶל־אַהֲרֹן וְאֶל כָּל־הָעֵדָה׃ |
| 34 |
They put him in custody, because it had not been made plain what should be done to him. | | וַיַּנִּיחוּ אֹתֹו בַּמִּשְׁמָר כִּי לֹא פֹרַשׁ מַה־יֵּעָשֶׂה לֹו׃ ס |
| 35 |
And Yahweh said to Moses, "The man shall be put to death; all the congregation shall stone him with stones outside the camp." | | וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה מֹות יוּמַת הָאִישׁ רָגֹום אֹתֹו בָאֲבָנִים כָּל־הָעֵדָה מִחוּץ לַמַּחֲנֶה׃ |
| 36 |
And all the congregation brought him outside the camp, and stoned him to death with stones, as Yahweh commanded Moses. | | וַיֹּצִיאוּ אֹתֹו כָּל־הָעֵדָה אֶל־מִחוּץ לַמַּחֲנֶה וַיִּרְגְּמוּ אֹתֹו בָּאֲבָנִים וַיָּמֹת כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוָה אֶת־מֹשֶׁה׃ ף |
| 37 |
Yahweh said to Moses, | Tassels. Nu.15.37-41 | וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר׃ |
| 38 |
"Speak to the people of Israel, and bid them to make tassels on the corners of their garments throughout their generations, and to put upon the tassel of each corner a cord of blue; | | דַּבֵּר אֶל־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְאָמַרְתָּ אֲלֵהֶם וְעָשׂוּ לָהֶם צִיצִת עַל־כַּנְפֵי בִגְדֵיהֶם לְדֹרֹתָם וְנָתְנוּ עַל־צִיצִת הַכָּנָף פְּתִיל תְּכֵלֶת׃ |
| 39 |
and it shall be to you a tassel to look upon and remember all the commandments of Yahweh, to do them, not to follow after your own heart and your own eyes, which you are inclined to go after wantonly. | | וְהָיָה לָכֶם לְצִיצִת וּרְאִיתֶם אֹתֹו וּזְכַרְתֶּם אֶת־כָּל־מִצְוֹת יְהוָה וַעֲשִׂיתֶם אֹתָם וְלֹא־תָתֻרוּ אַחֲרֵי לְבַבְכֶם וְאַחֲרֵי עֵינֵיכֶם אֲשֶׁר־אַתֶּם זֹנִים אַחֲרֵיהֶם׃ |
| 40 |
So you shall remember and do all my commandments, and be holy to your God. | | לְמַעַן תִּזְכְּרוּ וַעֲשִׂיתֶם אֶת־כָּל־מִצְוֹתָי וִהְיִיתֶם קְדֹשִׁים לֵאלֹהֵיכֶם׃ |
| 41 |
I am Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am Yahweh your God." | | אֲנִי יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם אֲשֶׁר הֹוצֵאתִי אֶתְכֶם מֵאֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם לִהְיֹות לָכֶם לֵאלֹהִים אֲנִי יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם׃ ף |
