For this reason I, Paul, a prisoner for Christ on behalf of you Gentiles - | Paul's Ministry to the Gentiles Eph.3.1-13 | Τούτου χάριν ἐγὼ Παῦλος ὁ δέσμιος τοῦ Χριστοῦ ὑπὲρ ὑμῶν τῶν ἐθνῶν - |

assuming that you have heard of the stewardship of God's grace that was given to me for you, | | εἰ γε ἠκούσατε τὴν οἰκονομίαν τῆς χάριτος τοῦ θεοῦ τῆς δοθείσης μοι εἰς ὑμᾶς, |

how the mystery was made known to me by revelation, as I have written briefly. | | κατὰ ἀποκάλυψιν ἐγνωρίσθη μοι τὸ μυστήριον, καθὼς προέγραψα ἐν ὀλίγῳ, |
| 4 |
When you read this you can perceive my insight into the mystery of Christ, | | πρὸς ὃ δύνασθε ἀναγινώσκοντες νοῆσαι τὴν σύνεσίν μου ἐν τῷ μυστηρίῳ τοῦ Χριστοῦ, |
| 5 |
which was not made known to the sons of men in other generations as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; | | ὃ ἑτέραις γενεαῖς οὐκ ἐγνωρίσθη τοῖς υἱοῖς τῶν ἀνθρώπων ὡς νῦν ἀπεκαλύφθη τοῖς ἀγίοις ἀποστόλοις αὐτοῦ καὶ προφήταις ἐν πνεύματι, |

that is, how the Gentiles are fellow heirs, members of the same body, and partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel. | | εἶναι τὰ ἐθνη συγκληρονόμα καὶ σύσσωμα καὶ συμμέτοχα τῆς ἐπαγγελίας ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ διὰ τοῦ εὐαγγελίου, |

Of this gospel I was made a minister according to the gift of God's grace which was given me by the working of his power. | | οὗ ἐγενήθην διάκονος κατὰ τὴν δωρεὰν τῆς χάριτος τοῦ θεοῦ τῆς δοθείσης μοι κατὰ τὴν ἐνέργειαν τῆς δυνάμεως αὐτοῦ. |

To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, | | ἐμοὶ τῷ ἐλαχιστοτέρῳ πάντων ἀγίων ἐδόθη ἡ χάρις αὑτη, τοῖς ἐθνεσιν εὐαγγελίσασθαι τὸ ἀνεξιχνίαστον πλοῦτος τοῦ Χριστοῦ, |

and to make see what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God who created all things; | | καὶ φωτίσαι τίς ἡ οἰκονομία τοῦ μυστηρίου τοῦ ἀποκεκρυμμένου ἀπὸ τῶν αἰώνων ἐν τῷ θεῷ τῷ τὰ πάντα κτίσαντι, |

that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places. | | ἵνα γνωρισθῇ νῦν ταῖς ἀρχαῖς καὶ ταῖς ἐξουσίαις ἐν τοῖς ἐπουρανίοις διὰ τῆς ἐκκλησίας ἡ πολυποίκιλος σοφία τοῦ θεοῦ, |

This was according to the eternal purpose which he has realized in Christ Jesus our Lord, | | κατὰ πρόθεσιν τῶν αἰώνων ἣν ἐποίησεν ἐν τῷ Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ τῷ κυρίῳ ἡμῶν, |

in whom we have boldness and confidence of access through our faith in him. | | ἐν ᾧ ἐχομεν τὴν παρρησίαν καὶ προσαγωγὴν ἐν πεποιθήσει διὰ τῆς πίστεως αὐτοῦ. |
| 13 |
So I ask you not to lose heart over what I am suffering for you, which is your glory. | | διὸ αἰτοῦμαι μὴ ἐγκακεῖν ἐν ταῖς θλίψεσίν μου ὑπὲρ ὑμῶν, ἡτις ἐστὶν δόξα ὑμῶν. |

For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, | To Know the Love of Christ Eph.3.14-21 | Τούτου χάριν κάμπτω τὰ γόνατά μου πρὸς τὸν πατέρα, |

from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, | | ἐξ οὗ πᾶσα πατριὰ ἐν οὐρανοῖς καὶ ἐπὶ γῆς ὀνομάζεται, |
| 16 |
that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with might through his Spirit in the inner man, | | ἵνα δῷ ὑμῖν κατὰ τὸ πλοῦτος τῆς δόξης αὐτοῦ δυνάμει κραταιωθῆναι διὰ τοῦ πνεύματος αὐτοῦ εἰς τὸν ἐσω ἄνθρωπον, |

and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, | | κατοικῆσαι τὸν Χριστὸν διὰ τῆς πίστεως ἐν ταῖς καρδίαις ὑμῶν, ἐν ἀγάπῃ ἐρριζωμένοι καὶ τεθεμελιωμένοι, |

may have power to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, | | ἵνα ἐξισχύσητε καταλαβέσθαι σὺν πᾶσιν τοῖς ἀγίοις τί τὸ πλάτος καὶ μῆκος καὶ ὑψος καὶ βάθος, |

and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fulness of God. | | γνῶναί τε τὴν ὑπερβάλλουσαν τῆς γνώσεως ἀγάπην τοῦ Χριστοῦ, ἵνα πληρωθῆτε εἰς πᾶν τὸ πλήρωμα τοῦ θεοῦ. |
| 20 |
Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, | | Τῷ δὲ δυναμένῳ ὑπὲρ πάντα ποιῆσαι ὑπερεκπερισσοῦ ὧν αἰτούμεθα ἢ νοοῦμεν κατὰ τὴν δύναμιν τὴν ἐνεργουμένην ἐν ἡμῖν, |

to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, for ever and ever. Amen. | | αὐτῷ ἡ δόξα ἐν τῇ ἐκκλησίᾳ καὶ ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ εἰς πάσας τὰς γενεὰς τοῦ αἰῶνος τῶν αἰώνων· ἀμήν. |
