 katapi NEW STUDY BIBLE2 Corinthians:6Novum Testamentum Graece (UBS.Ed.26)

1 Working together with him, then, we entreat you not to accept the grace of God in vain.
2 For he says,

"At the acceptable time I have listened to you,
and helped you on the day of salvation." Behold, now is the acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

- At the acceptable time I have listened to you 2Cor.6.2 | Is.49.8λέγει γάρ,

3 We put no obstacle in any one's way, so that no fault may be found with our ministry,
4 but as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: through great endurance, in afflictions, hardships, calamities,  ἀλλ' ἐν παντὶ συνίσταντες ἑαυτοὺς ὡς θεοῦ διάκονοι, ἐν ὑπομονῇ πολλῇ, ἐν θλίψεσιν, ἐν ἀνάγκαις, ἐν στενοχωρίαις,
6 by purity, knowledge, forbearance, kindness, the Holy Spirit, genuine love,  ἐν ἀγνότητι, ἐν γνώσει, ἐν μακροθυμίᾳ, ἐν χρηστότητι, ἐν πνεύματι ἀγίῳ, ἐν ἀγάπῃ ἀνυποκρίτῳ,
7 truthful speech, and the power of God; with the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and for the left;  ἐν λόγῳ ἀληθείας, ἐν δυνάμει θεοῦ· διὰ τῶν ὁπλων τῆς δικαιοσύνης τῶν δεξιῶν καὶ ἀριστερῶν,
8 in honour and dishonour, in ill repute and good repute. We are treated as impostors, and yet are true;  διὰ δόξης καὶ ἀτιμίας, διὰ δυσφημίας καὶ εὐφημίας· ὡς πλάνοι καὶ ἀληθεῖς,
9 as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold we live; as punished, and yet not killed;  ὡς ἀγνοούμενοι καὶ ἐπιγινωσκόμενοι, ὡς ἀποθνῄσκοντες καὶ ἰδοὺ ζῶμεν, ὡς παιδευόμενοι καὶ μὴ θανατούμενοι,
10 as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing everything.
11 Our mouth is open to you, Corinthians; our heart is wide.
12 You are not restricted by us, but you are restricted in your own affections.
13 In return - I speak as to children - widen your hearts also.
14 Do not be mismated with unbelievers. For what partnership have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? The Temple of the Living God 2Cor.6.14-7.1Μὴ γίνεσθε ἑτεροζυγοῦντες ἀπίστοις· τίς γὰρ μετοχὴ δικαιοσύνῃ καὶ ἀνομίᾳ; ἢ τίς κοινωνία φωτὶ πρὸς σκότος;
15 What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever?  τίς δὲ συμφώνησις Χριστοῦ πρὸς Βελιάρ, ἢ τίς μερὶς πιστῷ μετὰ ἀπίστοὺ;
16 What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said,

"I will live in them and move among them,
and I will be their God,
and they shall be my people.

- I will live in them and move among them 2Cor.6.16 | Lv.26.12 | Jr.32.38 | Eze.37.27τίς δὲ συγκατάθεσις ναῷ θεοῦ μετὰ εἰδώλων; ἡμεῖς γὰρ ναὸς θεοῦ ἐσμεν ζῶντος·

17 Therefore come out from them,
and be separate from them, says the Lord,
and touch nothing unclean;
then I will welcome you,
- Therefore come out from them, and be separate from them 2Cor.6.17 | Is.52.11 | Eze.20.34διὸ ἐξέλθατε ἐκ μέσου αὐτῶν

18 and I will be a father to you,
and you shall be my sons and daughters,
says the Lord Almighty."
- and I will be a father to you, and you shall be my sons 2Cor.6.18 | 2Sm.7.8-14 | Is.43.6 | Jr.31.9καὶ ἔσομαι ὑμῖν εἰς πατέρα,
καὶ

Notes: This webpage enables you to select-a-version from the Bible versions held on the katapi bible database.
The katapi NEW STUDY BIBLE is a very light revision of the RSV. The changes are: (1) In places where 'the LORD', 'O LORD' occurs in the RSV, (it represents the tetragrammaton - YHWH - which is in the hebrew text), I have printed 'YHWH' in black. The later vowel sounds I have shown in the colour gray;
(2) I have removed the quotation marks and hyphens that were used in so many names in the RSV as an aid to correct pronunciation. This now brings it in line with all other English versions, and makes any word-search more accurate.
(3) I have changed all (I hope!) of the RSV archaic language sections to modern.

The katapi New Study Bible reference section displays links to parallel passages, and to direct quotations by New Testament authors to Old Testament passages. Quotations of OT passages by NT authors can in most cases be viewed within their context of the OT passage as a whole, with the quoted text displayed, against a subdued background. Any mismatches, truncated verses, other mistakes? Please e-mail me.
