| 3 | But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman the man; and the head of Christ God. | θέλω δὲ ὑμᾶς εἰδέναι ὅτι παντὸς ἀνδρὸς ἡ κεφαλὴ ὁ Χριστός ἐστιν, κεφαλὴ δὲ γυναικὸς ὁ ἀνήρ, κεφαλὴ δὲ τοῦ Χριστοῦ ὁ θεός. | ||
| 4 | Every man praying or prophesying, having head covered, dishonoureth his head. | πᾶς ἀνὴρ προσευχόμενος ἢ προφητεύων κατὰ κεφαλῆς ἐχων καταισχύνει τὴν κεφαλὴν αὐτοῦ· | ||
| 5 | But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. | πᾶσα δὲ γυνὴ προσευχομένη ἢ προφητεύουσα ἀκατακαλύπτῳ τῇ κεφαλῇ καταισχύνει τὴν κεφαλὴν αὐτῆς· ἓν γάρ ἐστιν καὶ τὸ αὐτὸ τῇ ἐξυρημένῃ. | ||
| 6 | For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered. | εἰ γὰρ οὐ κατακαλύπτεται γυνή, καὶ κειράσθω· εἰ δὲ αἰσχρὸν γυναικὶ τὸ κείρασθαι ἢ ξυρᾶσθαι, κατακαλυπτέσθω. | ||
| 7 | For a man indeed ought not to cover head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man. | ἀνὴρ μὲν γὰρ οὐκ ὀφείλει κατακαλύπτεσθαι τὴν κεφαλήν, εἰκὼν καὶ δόξα θεοῦ ὑπάρχων· ἡ γυνὴ δὲ δόξα ἀνδρός ἐστιν. | ||
| 8 | For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man. | οὐ γάρ ἐστιν ἀνὴρ ἐκ γυναικός, ἀλλὰ γυνὴ ἐξ ἀνδρός· | ||
| 9 | Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man. | καὶ γὰρ οὐκ ἐκτίσθη ἀνὴρ διὰ τὴν γυναῖκα, ἀλλὰ γυνὴ διὰ τὸν ἀνδρα. | ||
| 10 | For this cause ought the woman to have power on head because of the angels. | διὰ τοῦτο ὀφείλει ἡ γυνὴ ἐξουσίαν ἐχειν ἐπὶ τῆς κεφαλῆς διὰ τοὺς ἀγγέλους. | ||
| 11 | Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord. | πλὴν οὐτε γυνὴ χωρὶς ἀνδρὸς οὐτε ἀνὴρ χωρὶς γυναικὸς ἐν κυρίῳ· | ||
| 12 | For as the woman of the man, even so the man also by the woman; but all things of God. | ὡσπερ γὰρ ἡ γυνὴ ἐκ τοῦ ἀνδρός, οὑτως καὶ ὁ ἀνὴρ διὰ τῆς γυναικός· τὰ δὲ πάντα ἐκ τοῦ θεοῦ. | ||
| 13 | Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered? | ἐν ὑμῖν αὐτοῖς κρίνατε· πρέπον ἐστὶν γυναῖκα ἀκατακάλυπτον τῷ θεῷ προσεύχεσθαὶ; | ||
| 14 | Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? | οὐδὲ ἡ φύσις αὐτὴ διδάσκει ὑμᾶς ὅτι ἀνὴρ μὲν ἐὰν κομᾷ ἀτιμία αὐτῷ ἐστιν, | ||
| 15 | But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for hair is given her for a covering. | γυνὴ δὲ ἐὰν κομᾷ δόξα αὐτῇ ἐστιν; ὅτι ἡ κόμη ἀντὶ περιβολαίου δέδοται . | ||
| 16 | But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God. | Εἰ δέ τις δοκεῖ φιλόνεικος εἶναι, ἡμεῖς τοιαύτην συνήθειαν οὐκ ἐχομεν, οὐδὲ αἱ ἐκκλησίαι τοῦ θεοῦ. | ||

| 18 | For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it. | πρῶτον μὲν γὰρ συνερχομένων ὑμῶν ἐν ἐκκλησίᾳ ἀκούω σχίσματα ἐν ὑμῖν ὑπάρχειν, καὶ μέρος τι πιστεύω. | ||
| 19 | For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you. | δεῖ γὰρ καὶ αἱρέσεις ἐν ὑμῖν εἶναι, ἵνα οἱ δόκιμοι φανεροὶ γένωνται ἐν ὑμῖν. | ||
| 20 | When ye come together therefore into one place, is not to eat the Lord's supper. | Συνερχομένων οὖν ὑμῶν ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτὸ οὐκ ἐστιν κυριακὸν δεῖπνον φαγεῖν, | ||
| 21 | For in eating every one taketh before his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken. | ἑκαστος γὰρ τὸ ἰδιον δεῖπνον προλαμβάνει ἐν τῷ φαγεῖν, καὶ ὃς μὲν πεινᾷ, ὃς δὲ μεθύει. | ||
| 22 | What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise not. | μὴ γὰρ οἰκίας οὐκ ἐχετε εἰς τὸ ἐσθίειν καὶ πίνειν; ἢ τῆς ἐκκλησίας τοῦ θεοῦ καταφρονεῖτε, καὶ καταισχύνετε τοὺς μὴ ἐχοντας; τί εἰπω ὑμῖν; ἐπαινέσω ὑμᾶς; ἐν τούτῳ οὐκ ἐπαινῶ. | ||

| 25 | After the same manner also the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink , in remembrance of me. | ὡσαύτως καὶ τὸ ποτήριον μετὰ τὸ δειπνῆσαι, λέγων, Τοῦτο τὸ ποτήριον ἡ καινὴ διαθήκη ἐστὶν ἐν τῷ ἐμῷ αἱματι· τοῦτο ποιεῖτε, ὁσάκις ἐὰν πίνητε, εἰς τὴν ἐμὴν ἀνάμνησιν. | ||
| 26 | For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. | ὁσάκις γὰρ ἐὰν ἐσθίητε τὸν ἀρτον τοῦτον καὶ τὸ ποτήριον πίνητε, τὸν θάνατον τοῦ κυρίου καταγγέλλετε, ἀχρις οὗ ἐλθῃ. | ||
| 27 | Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. | Partaking of the Supper Unworthily 1Cor.11.27-34 | Ὥστε ὃς ἂν ἐσθίῃ τὸν ἀρτον ἢ πίνῃ τὸ ποτήριον τοῦ κυρίου ἀναξίως, ἐνοχος ἐσται τοῦ σώματος καὶ τοῦ αἱματος τοῦ κυρίου. | |
| 28 | But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of bread, and drink of cup. | δοκιμαζέτω δὲ ἄνθρωπος ἑαυτόν, καὶ οὑτως ἐκ τοῦ ἀρτου ἐσθιέτω καὶ ἐκ τοῦ ποτηρίου πινέτω· | ||
| 29 | For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. | ὁ γὰρ ἐσθίων καὶ πίνων κρίμα ἑαυτῷ ἐσθίει καὶ πίνει μὴ διακρίνων τὸ σῶμα. | ||
| 30 | For this cause many weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. | διὰ τοῦτο ἐν ὑμῖν πολλοὶ ἀσθενεῖς καὶ ἀρρωστοι καὶ κοιμῶνται ἱκανοί. | ||
| 31 | For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. | εἰ δὲ ἑαυτοὺς διεκρίνομεν, οὐκ ἂν ἐκρινόμεθα· | ||
| 32 | But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world. | κρινόμενοι δὲ ὑπὸ κυρίου παιδευόμεθα, ἵνα μὴ σὺν τῷ κόσμῳ κατακριθῶμεν. | ||
| 33 | Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another. | ὡστε, ἀδελφοί μου, συνερχόμενοι εἰς τὸ φαγεῖν ἀλλήλους ἐκδέχεσθε. | ||
| 34 | And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto condemnation. And the rest will I set in order when I come. | εἰ τις πεινᾷ, ἐν οἰκῳ ἐσθιέτω, ἵνα μὴ εἰς κρίμα συνέρχησθε. Τὰ δὲ λοιπὰ ὡς ἂν ἐλθω διατάξομαι. | ||
