14 New English Bible (New Testament) Passage New Testament in Greek (UBS.Ed.26)

12NOW ON THE FIRST DAY of Unleavened Bread, when the Passover lambs were being slaughtered, his disciples said to him, 'Where would you like us to go and prepare for your Passover supper?'The Passover with the Disciples Mk.14.12-21 (Jerusalem) | Mt.26.17-25 | Lk.22.7-14 | Lk.22.21-23 | Jn.13.21-30Καὶ τῇ πρώτῃ ἡμέρᾳ τῶν ἀζύμων, ὅτε τὸ πάσχα ἐθυον, λέγουσιν αὐτῷ οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ, Ποῦ θέλεις ἀπελθόντες ἑτοιμάσωμεν ἵνα φάγῃς τὸ πάσχὰ;
13So he sent out two of his disciples with these instructions: 'Go into the city, and a man will meet you carrying a jar of water.
14Follow him, and when he enters a house give this message to the householder: "The Master says, 'Where is the room reserved for me to eat the Passover with my disciples?'" καὶ ὁπου ἐὰν εἰσέλθῃ εἰπατε τῷ οἰκοδεσπότῃ ὅτι Ὁ διδάσκαλος λέγει, Ποῦ ἐστιν τὸ κατάλυμά μου ὁπου τὸ πάσχα μετὰ τῶν μαθητῶν μου φάγὼ;
15He will show you a large room upstairs, set out in readiness. Make the preparations for us there.'
16Then the disciples went off, and when they came into the city they found everything just as he had told them. So they prepared for Passover.
17In the evening he came to the house with the Twelve.
18As they sat at supper Jesus said, 'I tell you is this: one of you will betray me—one who is eating with me.'
19At this they were dismayed; and one by one they said to him, 'Not I, surely?'  ἠρξαντο λυπεῖσθαι καὶ λέγειν αὐτῷ εἷς κατὰ εἷς, Μήτι ἐγώ;
20'It is one of the Twelve', he said, 'who is dipping into the same bowl with me.
21The Son of Man is going the way appointed for him in the scriptures; but alas for that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would be better for that man if he had never been born.'
