110 1The LORD said to my lord,
'You shall sit You shall sit: or Sit at my right hand
when Or until or while I make your enemies the footstool under your feet.'
The Lord & His Chosen King. Psalm 110(v109)נְאֻם יְהוָה לַאדֹנִי שֵׁב לִימִינִי
עַד־אָשִׁית אֹיְבֶיךָ הֲדֹם לְרַגְלֶיךָ׃
2When the LORD from Zion hands you the sceptre, the symbol of your power,
march forth through the ranks of Or reign in the midst of your enemies.
 מַטֵּה־עֻזְּךָ יִשְׁלַח יְהוָה מִצִּיֹּון
רְדֵה בְּקֶרֶב אֹיְבֶיךָ׃
3At birth At birth: or On the day of your power you were endowed with princely gifts
and you were ... and: or your people offered themselves willingly; meaning of Heb uncertain resplendent Or apparelled in holiness.
You have shone with the dew of youth since your mother bore you.
 עַמְּךָ נְדָבֹת בְּיֹום חֵילֶךָ
בְּהַדְרֵי־קֹדֶשׁ מֵרֶחֶם מִשְׁחָר לְךָ טַל יַלְדֻתֶיךָ׃
4The LORD has sworn and will not change his purpose:
'You are a priest for ever,
in the succession of Melchizedek.'
 נִשְׁבַּע יְהוָה וְלֹא יִנָּחֵם
אַתָּה־כֹהֵן לְעֹולָם עַל־דִּבְרָתִי מַלְכִּי־צֶדֶק׃
5The Lord at your right hand
has broken kings in the day of his anger.
 אֲדֹנָי עַל־יְמִינְךָ מָחַץ בְּיֹום־אַפֹּו מְלָכִים׃
6So the king in his majesty So ... majesty: possible rdg, Heb full of corpses, he crushed, sovereign of a mighty land,
will punish nations So ... nations: or He shall punish the nations— heaps of corpses, broken heads— over a wide expanse;
 יָדִין בַּגֹּויִם מָלֵא גְוִיֹּות מָחַץ רֹאשׁ עַל־אֶרֶץ רַבָּה׃
7he will drink from the torrent beside the path
and therefore will hold his head high.
 מִנַּחַל בַּדֶּרֶךְ יִשְׁתֶּה עַל־כֵּן יָרִים רֹאשׁ׃
