26	As it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days of the Son of man.	The Unknown Day and Hour Lk.17.26-30 \| Mt.24.36-44 \| Mk.13.32-37 \| Lk.17.34-36	καὶ καθὼς ἐγένετο ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις Νῶε, οὑτως ἐσται καὶ ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις τοῦ υἱοῦ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου·
27	They ate, they drank, they married, they were given in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.		ἠσθιον, ἐπινον, ἐγάμουν, ἐγαμίζοντο, ἀχρι ἧς ἡμέρας εἰσῆλθεν Νῶε εἰς τὴν κιβωτόν, καὶ ἦλθεν ὁ κατακλυσμὸς καὶ ἀπώλεσεν πάντας.
28	Likewise as it was in the days of Lot - they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built,		ὁμοίως καθὼς ἐγένετο ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις λώτ· ἠσθιον, ἐπινον, ἠγόραζον, ἐπώλουν, ἐφύτευον, ᾠκοδόμουν·
29	but on the day when Lot went out from Sodom fire and sulphur rained from heaven and destroyed them all -		ᾗ δὲ ἡμέρᾳ ἐξῆλθεν Λὼτ ἀπὸ Σοδόμων, ἐβρεξεν πῦρ καὶ θεῖον ἀπ' οὐρανοῦ καὶ ἀπώλεσεν πάντας.
30	so will it be on the day when the Son of man is revealed.		κατὰ τὰ αὐτὰ ἐσται ᾗ ἡμέρᾳ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἀποκαλύπτεται.

Notes: This page displays passages from the katapi NEW STUDY BIBLE.
The katapi NEW STUDY BIBLE is a very light revision of the RSV. The changes are: (1) In places where 'the LORD', 'O LORD' occurs in the RSV, (it represents the tetragrammaton - YHWH - which is in the hebrew text), I have used the name 'Yahweh'.
(2) I have removed the quotation marks and hyphens that were used in so many names in the RSV as an aid to correct pronunciation. This now brings it in line with all other English versions, and makes any word-search more accurate.
(3) I have changed all (I hope!) of the RSV archaic language sections to modern.

Quotations of OT passages by NT authors can in most cases be viewed within their context of the OT passage as a whole, with the quoted text displayed, against a subdued background.
