36	"But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.	The Unknown Day and Hour Mt.24.36-44 (Olivet) \| Mk.13.32-37 \| Lk.17.26-30 \| Lk.17.34-36	Περὶ δὲ τῆς ἡμέρας ἐκείνης καὶ ὡρας οὐδεὶς οἶδεν, οὐδὲ οἱ ἀγγελοι τῶν οὐρανῶν οὐδὲ ὁ υἱός, εἰ μὴ ὁ πατὴρ μόνος.
37	As were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of man.		ὡσπερ γὰρ αἱ ἡμέραι τοῦ Νῶε, οὑτως ἐσται ἡ παρουσία τοῦ υἱοῦ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου.
38	For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark,		ὡς γὰρ ἦσαν ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ταῖς πρὸ τοῦ κατακλυσμοῦ τρώγοντες καὶ πίνοντες, γαμοῦντες καὶ γαμίζοντες, ἀχρι ἧς ἡμέρας εἰσῆλθεν Νῶε εἰς τὴν κιβωτόν,
39	and they did not know until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of man.		καὶ οὐκ ἐγνωσαν ἑως ἦλθεν ὁ κατακλυσμὸς καὶ ἦρεν ἀπαντας, ὑτως ἐσται καὶ ἡ παρουσία τοῦ υἱοῦ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου.
40	Then two men will be in the field; one is taken and one is left.		τότε δύο ἐσονται ἐν τῷ ἀγρῷ, εἷς παραλαμβάνεται καὶ εἷς ἀφίεται·
41	Two women will be grinding at the mill; one is taken and one is left.		δύο ἀλήθουσαι ἐν τῷ μύλῳ, μία παραλαμβάνεται καὶ μία ἀφίεται.
42	Watch therefore, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.		γρηγορεῖτε οὖν, ὅτι οὐκ οἰδατε ποίᾳ ἡμέρᾳ ὁ κύριος ὑμῶν ἐρχεται.
43	But know this, that if the householder had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have watched and would not have let his house be broken into.		ἐκεῖνο δὲ γινώσκετε ὅτι εἰ ᾐδει ὁ οἰκοδεσπότης ποίᾳ φυλακῇ ὁ κλέπτης ἐρχεται, ἐγρηγόρησεν ἂν καὶ οὐκ ἂν εἰασεν διορυχθῆναι τὴν οἰκίαν αὐτοῦ.
44	Therefore you also must be ready; for the Son of man is coming at an hour you do not expect.		διὰ τοῦτο καὶ ὑμεῖς γίνεσθε ἑτοιμοι, ὅτι ᾗ οὐ δοκεῖτε ὡρᾳ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἐρχεται.

The katapi NEW STUDY BIBLE is a very light revision of the RSV. The changes are: (1) In places where 'the LORD', 'O LORD' occurs in the RSV, (it represents the tetragrammaton - YHWH - which is in the hebrew text), I have used the name 'Yahweh'.
(2) I have removed the quotation marks and hyphens that were used in so many names in the RSV as an aid to correct pronunciation. This now brings it in line with all other English versions, and makes any word-search more accurate.
(3) I have changed all (I hope!) of the RSV archaic language sections to modern.

Quotations of OT passages by NT authors can in most cases be viewed within their context of the OT passage as a whole, with the quoted text displayed, against a subdued background.
