 New English Bible Hebrews:1Novum Testamentum Graece (UBS.Ed.26)

1 WHEN IN FORMER TIMES God spoke to our forefathers, he spoke in fragmentary and varied fashion through the prophets. God has Spoken by His Son Hb.1.1-4 67ceΠολυμερῶς καὶ πολυτρόπως πάλαι ὁ θεὸς λαλήσας τοῖς πατράσιν ἐν τοῖς προφήταις
2 But in this the final age he has spoken to us in the Son whom he has made heir to the whole universe, and through whom he created all orders of existence:  ἐπ' ἐσχάτου τῶν ἡμερῶν τούτων ἐλάλησεν ἡμῖν ἐν υἱῷ, ὃν ἐθηκεν κληρονόμον πάντων, δῖ οὗ καὶ ἐποίησεν τοὺς αἰῶνας·
3 the Son who is the effulgence of God's splendour and the stamp of God's very being, and sustains [Or: bears along.] the universe by his word of power. When he had brought about the purgation of sins, he took his seat at the right hand of Majesty on high,  ὃς ὢν ἀπαύγασμα τῆς δόξης καὶ χαρακτὴρ τῆς ὑποστάσεως αὐτοῦ, φέρων τε τὰ πάντα τῷ ῥήματι τῆς δυνάμεως αὐτοῦ, καθαρισμὸν τῶν ἀμαρτιῶν ποιησάμενος ἐκάθισεν ἐν δεξιᾷ τῆς μεγαλωσύνης ἐν ὑψηλοῖς,
4 raised as far above the angels, as the title he has inherited is superior to theirs.
5 For God never said to any angel, 'Thou art my Son; today I have begotten thee', or again, 'I will be father to him, and he shall be my son.' The Son Superior to Angels Hb.1.5-14 | Ps.2.7 | 2Sm.7.14 | 1Chr.17.13Τίνι γὰρ εἶπέν ποτε τῶν ἀγγέλων,

ἐγὼ σήμερον γεγέννηκά σε;

καὶ αὐτὸς ἔσται μοι εἰς υἱόν;

6 Again, when he presents the first-born to the world, he says, 'Let all the angels of God pay him homage.' - Let all God's angels worship him.

7 Of the angels he says,
    'He who makes his angels winds,
    and his ministers a fiery flame';
- Who makes his angels winds, and his servants flames of fire.

8 but of the Son,
    'Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever,
    and the sceptre [Or: God is thy throne for ever and ever, and thy sceptre ...] of justice is the sceptre of his kingdom.

- Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever Hb.1.8-9 | Ps.45.6-7πρὸς δὲ τὸν υἱόν,

9 Thou hast loved right and hated wrong;
therefore, O God, thy God [Or: therefore God who is thy God ...] has set thee above thy fellows,
by anointing with the oil of exultation.'
10 And again,
    'By thee. Lord, were earth's foundations laid of old,
    and the heavens are the work of thy hands.

- Thou, Lord, didst found the earth in the beginning Hb.1.10-12 | Ps.102.25-27καί,

11 They shall pass away, but thou endurest;
like clothes they shall all grow old;

12 thou shalt fold them up like a cloak;
yes, they shall be changed like any garment.
But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.'
13 To which of the angels has he ever said, 'Sit at my right hand until I make thy enemies thy footstool'? - Sit at my right hand, till I make thy enemies a stool for thy feet Hb.1.13 | Ps.110.1πρὸς τίνα δὲ τῶν ἀγγέλων εἰρηκέν ποτε,

Kάθου ἐκ δεξιῶν μου
ἕως ἂν θῶ τοὺς ἐχθρούς σου ὑποπόδιον τῶν ποδῶν σου;

14 What are they all but ministrant spirits, sent out to serve, for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?
 οὐχὶ πάντες εἰσὶν λειτουργικὰ πνεύματα εἰς διακονίαν ἀποστελλόμενα διὰ τοὺς μέλλοντας κληρονομεῖν σωτηρίαν;
