Mark: 11
27 THEY CAME ONCE MORE to Jerusalem. And as he was walking in the temple court the chief priests, lawyers, and elders came to him 28 and said, 'By what authority are you acting like this? Who gave you authority to act in this way?' 29 Jesus said to them, 'I will ask you one question; and if you give me an answer, I will tell you by what authority I act. 30 The baptism of John: was it from God, or from men? Answer me.' 31 This set them arguing among themselves: 'What shall we say? If we say, "from God", he will say, "Then why did you not believe him?" 32 Shall we say, "from men"?'- but they were afraid of the people, for all held that John was in fact a prophet. 33 So they answered Jesus, 'We do not know.' And Jesus said to them, 'Then neither will I tell you by what authority I act.'
Matthew: 21
23 He entered the temple, and the chief priests and elders of the nation came to him with the question: 'By what authority are you acting like this? Who gave you this authority?' 24 Jesus replied, 'I have a question to ask too; answer it, and I will tell you by what authority I act. 25 The baptism of John: was it from God, or from men?' This set them arguing among themselves: 'If we say, "from God", he will say, "Then why did you not believe him ?" 26 But if we say, "from men", we are afraid of the people, for they all take John for a prophet.' 27 So they answered, 'We do not know.' And Jesus said: 'Then neither will I tell you by what authority I act.
Luke: 20
1 ONE DAY, as he was teaching the people in the temple and telling them the good news, the priests and lawyers, and the elders with them, came upon him and accosted him. 2 'Tell us', they said, 'by what authority you are acting like this; who gave you this authority?' 3 He answered them, 'I have a question to ask you too: tell me, 4 was the baptism of John from God or from men?' 5 This set them arguing among themselves: 'If we say, "from God", he will say, "Why did you not believe him?" 6 And if we say, "from men", the people will all stone us, for they are convinced that John was a prophet.' 7 So they replied that they could not tell. 8 And Jesus said to them, 'Neither will I tell you by what authority I act.'

The most generally known harmonies of the Gospels are based upon the Huck-Lietzmann Synopsis (1936) of the three gospels and Sparks' Synopsis (1964) of four gospels.
Many of the passages in these harmonies are too short to display in a useful manner on a web-page.
The katapi New Study Bible Synopsis of the Gospels is based upon the headings displayed in the New Study Bible reference table which in turn follows the headings printed in the United Bible Societies' New Testament in Greek.
These sections are more useful for bible study.
Columns are arranged so that first column is your chosen heading from the bible passage list.
This column is highlighted in light grey.
The harmonies that follow across the web-page are then in the normally accepted order.
For Old Testament references quoted by New Testament authors,
you should either go back to the passage listing web-page and select the link on the 'version' column;
or click on the column heading and search through the chapter for the relevant passage;
than select the OT passage from the reference column.
