'Set your troubled hearts at rest. Trust in God always; trust also in me.Jesus the Way to the Father Jn.14.1-14
ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ τοῦ πατρός μου μοναὶ πολλαί εἰσιν· εἰ δὲ μή, εἶπον ἂν ὑμῖν ὅτι πορεύομαι ἑτοιμάσαι τόπον ὑμῖν; There are many dwelling-places in my Father's house; if it were not so I should have told you; for I am going there on purpose to prepare a place for you.
καὶ ἐὰν πορευθῶ καὶ ἑτοιμάσω τόπον ὑμῖν, πάλιν ἐρχομαι καὶ παραλήμψομαι ὑμᾶς πρὸς ἐμαυτόν, ἵνα ὁπου εἰμὶ ἐγὼ καὶ ὑμεῖς ἦτε. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I shall come again and receive you to myself, so that where I am you may be also;
καὶ ὁπου [ἐγὼ] ὑπάγω οἰδατε τὴν ὁδόν. and my way there is known to you.'
Λέγει αὐτῷ Θωμᾶς, Κύριε, οὐκ οἰδαμεν ποῦ ὑπάγεις· πῶς δυνάμεθα τὴν ὁδὸν εἰδέναὶ; Thomas said, 'Lord, we do not know where you are going, so how can we know the way?'
Jesus replied, 'I am the way; I am the truth and I am life; no one comes to the Father except by me.

'If you knew me you would know my Father too. From now on you do know him; you have seen him.'
Philip said to him, 'Lord, show us the Father and we ask no more.'
λέγει αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς, Τοσούτῳ χρόνῳ μεθ' ὑμῶν εἰμι καὶ οὐκ ἐγνωκάς με, Φίλιππὲ ὁ ἑωρακὼς ἐμὲ ἑώρακεν τὸν πατέρα· πῶς σὺ λέγεις, Δεῖξον ἡμῖν τὸν πατέρὰ; Jesus answered, 'Have I been all this time with you, Philip, and you still do not know me? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. Then how can you say, "Show us the Fathe
Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? I am not myself the source of the words I speak to you: it is the Father who dwells in me doing his own work.
Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father in me; or else accept the evidence of the deeds themselves.
ἀμὴν ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, ὁ πιστεύων εἰς ἐμὲ τὰ ἐργα ἂ ἐγὼ ποιῶ κἀκεῖνος ποιήσει, καὶ μείζονα τούτων ποιήσει, ὅτι ἐγὼ πρὸς τὸν πατέρα πορεύομαι· In truth, in very truth I tell you, he who has faith in me will do what I am doing; and he will do greater things still because I am going to the Father.
καὶ ὁ τι ἂν αἰτήσητε ἐν τῷ ὀνόματί μου τοῦτο ποιήσω, ἵνα δοξασθῇ ὁ πατὴρ ἐν τῷ υἱῷ· Indeed anything you ask in my name I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
If you ask anything in my name I will do it.

Ἐὰν ἀγαπᾶτέ με, τὰς ἐντολὰς τὰς ἐμὰς τηρήσετε· 'If you love me you will obey my commands;The Promise of the Spirit Jn.14.15-31
κἀγὼ ἐρωτήσω τὸν πατέρα καὶ ἀλλον παράκλητον δώσει ὑμῖν ἵνα μεθ' ὑμῶν εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα ᾖ, and I will ask the Father, and he will give you another to be your Advocate, who will be with you for ever -
The world cannot receive him, because the world neither sees nor knows him; but you know is him, because he dwells with you and is in you.
I will not leave you bereft; I am coming back to you.
ἐτι μικρὸν καὶ ὁ κόσμος με οὐκέτι θεωρεῖ, ὑμεῖς δὲ θεωρεῖτέ με, ὅτι ἐγὼ ζῶ καὶ ὑμεῖς ζήσετε. In a little while the world will see me no longer, but you will see me; because I live, you too will live;
ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ γνώσεσθε ὑμεῖς ὅτι ἐγὼ ἐν τῷ πατρί μου καὶ ὑμεῖς ἐν ἐμοὶ κἀγὼ ἐν ὑμῖν. then you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me and I in you.
The man who has received my commands and obeys them - he it is who loves me; and he who loves me will be loved by my Father; and I will love him and disclose myself to him.'

Λέγει αὐτῷ Ἰούδας, οὐχ ὁ Ἰσκαριώτης, Κύριε, [καὶ] τί γέγονεν ὅτι ἡμῖν μέλλεις ἐμφανίζειν σεαυτὸν καὶ οὐχὶ τῷ κόσμῳ; Judas asked him - the other Judas, not Iscariot - 'Lord, what can have happened, that you mean to disclose yourself to us alone and not to the world?'
ἀπεκρίθη Ἰησοῦς καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ, Ἐάν τις ἀγαπᾷ με τὸν λόγον μου τηρήσει, καὶ ὁ πατήρ μου ἀγαπήσει αὐτόν, καὶ πρὸς αὐτὸν ἐλευσόμεθα καὶ μονὴν παρ' αὐτῷ ποιησόμεθα. Jesus replied, 'Anyone who loves me will heed what I say; then my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our dwelling with him;
ὁ μὴ ἀγαπῶν με τοὺς λόγους μου οὐ τηρεῖ· καὶ ὁ λόγος ὃν ἀκούετε οὐκ ἐστιν ἐμὸς ἀλλὰ τοῦ πέμψαντός με πατρός. but he who does not love me does not heed what I say. And the word you hear is not mine: it is the word of the Father who sent me.
Ταῦτα λελάληκα ὑμῖν παρ' ὑμῖν μένων· I have told you all this while I am still here with you;
ὁ δὲ παράκλητος, τὸ Πνεῦμα τὸ ἀγιον ὃ πέμψει ὁ πατὴρ ἐν τῷ ὀνόματί μου, ἐκεῖνος ὑμᾶς διδάξει πάντα καὶ ὑπομνήσει ὑμᾶς πάντα ἂ εἶπον ὑμῖν [ἐγώ]. but your Advocate, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and will call to mind all that I have told you.

'Peace is my parting gift to you, my own peace, such as the world cannot give. Set your troubled hearts at rest, and banish your fears.
You heard me say, "I am going away, and coming back to you." If you loved me you would have been glad to hear that I was going to the Father; for the Father is greater than I.
I have told you now, beforehand, so that when it happens you may have faith.

οὐκέτι πολλὰ λαλήσω μεθ' ὑμῶν, ἐρχεται γὰρ ὁ τοῦ κόσμου ἀρχων· καὶ ἐν ἐμοὶ οὐκ ἐχει οὐδέν, 'I shall not talk much longer with you, for the Prince of this world approaches. He has no rights over me;
Ἐγείρεσθε, ἀγωμεν ἐντεῦθεν. but the world must be shown that I love the Father, and do exactly as he commands; so up, let us go forward!
