| 5 | ἐν δὲ τῷ τεσσαρεσκαιδεκάτῳ ἔτει ἦλθεν Χοδολλογομορ καὶ οἱ βασιλεῖς οἱ μετ' αὐτοῦ καὶ κατέκοψαν τοὺς γίγαντας τοὺς ἐν Ασταρωθ Καρναιν καὶ ἔθνη ἰσχυρὰ ἅμα αὐτοῖς καὶ τοὺς Ομμαίους τοὺς ἐν Σαυη τῇ πόλει | In the fourteenth year Ched-or-lao'mer and the kings who were with him came and subdued the Reph'aim in Ash'teroth-karna'im, the Zuzim in Ham, the Emim in Sha'veh-kiriatha'im, | וּבְאַרְבַּע עֶשְׂרֵה שָׁנָה בָּא כְדָרְלָעֹמֶר וְהַמְּלָכִים אֲשֶׁר אִתֹּו וַיַּכּוּ אֶת־רְפָאִים בְּעַשְׁתְּרֹת קַרְנַיִם וְאֶת־הַזּוּזִים בְּהָם וְאֵת הָאֵימִים בְּשָׁוֵה קִרְיָתָיִם׃ | 5 | ||
| 6 | καὶ τοὺς Χορραίους τοὺς ἐν τοῖς ὄρεσιν Σηιρ ἕως τῆς τερεμίνθου τῆς Φαραν, ἥ ἐστιν ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ. | and the Horites in their Mount Se'ir as far as El-paran on the border of the wilderness; | וְאֶת־הַחֹרִי בְּהַרְרָם שֵׂעִיר עַד אֵיל פָּארָן אֲשֶׁר עַל־הַמִּדְבָּר׃ | 6 | ||
| 7 | καὶ ἀναστρέψαντες ἤλθοσαν ἐπὶ τὴν πηγὴν τῆς κρίσεως [αὕτη ἐστὶν Καδης] καὶ κατέκοψαν πάντας τοὺς ἄρχοντας Αμαληκ καὶ τοὺς Αμορραίους τοὺς κατοικοῦντας ἐν Ασασανθαμαρ. | then they turned back and came to Enmish'pat (that is, Kadesh), and subdued all the country of the Amal'ekites, and also the Amorites who dwelt in Haz'azon-ta'mar. | וַיָּשֻׁבוּ וַיָּבֹאוּ אֶל־עֵין מִשְׁפָּט הִוא קָדֵשׁ וַיַּכּוּ אֶת־כָּל־שְׂדֵה הָעֲמָלֵקִי וְגַם אֶת־הָאֱמֹרִי הַיֹּשֵׁב בְּחַצְצֹן תָּמָר׃ | 7 | ||
| 8 | ἐξῆλθεν δὲ βασιλεὺς Σοδομων καὶ βασιλεὺς Γομορρας καὶ βασιλεὺς Αδαμα καὶ βασιλεὺς Σεβωιμ καὶ βασιλεὺς Βαλακ [αὕτη ἐστὶν Σηγωρ] καὶ παρετάξαντο αὐτοῖς εἰς πόλεμον ἐν τῇ κοιλάδι τῇ ἁλυκῇ, | Then the king of Sodom, the king of Gomor'rah, the king of Admah, the king of Zeboi'im, and the king of Bela (that is, Zo'ar) went out, and they joined battle in the Valley of Siddim | וַיֵּצֵא מֶלֶךְ־סְדֹם וּמֶלֶךְ עֲמֹרָה וּמֶלֶךְ אַדְמָה וּמֶלֶךְ [כ= צְבֹיִים] [ק= צְבֹויִם] וּמֶלֶךְ בֶּלַע הִוא־צֹעַר וַיַּעַרְכוּ אִתָּם מִלְחָמָה בְּעֵמֶק הַשִּׂדִּים׃ | 8 | ||
| 9 | πρὸς Χοδολλογομορ βασιλέα Αιλαμ καὶ Θαργαλ βασιλέα ἐθνῶν καὶ Αμαρφαλ βασιλέα Σεννααρ καὶ Αριωχ βασιλέα Ελλασαρ, οἱ τέσσαρες βασιλεῖς πρὸς τοὺς πέντε. | with Ched-or-lao'mer king of Elam, Tidal king of Goi'im, Am'raphel king of Shinar, and Ar'ioch king of Ella'sar, four kings against five. | אֵת כְּדָרְלָעֹמֶר מֶלֶךְ עֵילָם וְתִדְעָל מֶלֶךְ גֹּויִם וְאַמְרָפֶל מֶלֶךְ שִׁנְעָר וְאַרְיֹוךְ מֶלֶךְ אֶלָּסָר אַרְבָּעָה מְלָכִים אֶת־הַחֲמִשָּׁה׃ | 9 | ||
| 10 | ἡ δὲ κοιλὰς ἡ ἁλυκὴ φρέατα φρέατα ἀσφάλτου· ἔφυγεν δὲ βασιλεὺς Σοδομων καὶ βασιλεὺς Γομορρας καὶ ἐνέπεσαν ἐκεῖ, οἱ δὲ καταλειφθέντες εἰς τὴν ὀρεινὴν ἔφυγον. | Now the Valley of Siddim was full of bitumen pits; and as the kings of Sodom and Gomor'rah fled, some fell into them, and the rest fled to the mountain. | וְעֵמֶק הַשִׂדִּים בֶּאֱרֹת בֶּאֱרֹת חֵמָר וַיָּנֻסוּ מֶלֶךְ־סְדֹם וַעֲמֹרָה וַיִּפְּלוּ־שָׁמָּה וְהַנִּשְׁאָרִים הֶרָה נָּסוּ׃ | 10 | ||
| 11 | ἔλαβον δὲ τὴν ἵππον πᾶσαν τὴν Σοδομων καὶ Γομορρας καὶ πάντα τὰ βρώματα αὐτῶν καὶ ἀπῆλθον. | So the enemy took all the goods of Sodom and Gomor'rah, and all their provisions, and went their way; | וַיִּקְחוּ אֶת־כָּל־רְכֻשׁ סְדֹם וַעֲמֹרָה וְאֶת־כָּל־אָכְלָם וַיֵּלֵכוּ׃ | 11 | ||
| 12 | ἔλαβον δὲ καὶ τὸν Λωτ υἱὸν τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ Αβραμ καὶ τὴν ἀποσκευὴν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀπῴχοντο· ἦν γὰρ κατοικῶν ἐν Σοδομοις. | they also took Lot, the son of Abram's brother, who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and departed. | וַיִּקְחוּ אֶת־לֹוט וְאֶת־רְכֻשֹׁו בֶּן־אֲחִי אַבְרָם וַיֵּלֵכוּ וְהוּא יֹשֵׁב בִּסְדֹם׃ | 12 | ||
| 13 | Παραγενόμενος δὲ τῶν ἀνασωθέντων τις ἀπήγγειλεν Αβραμ τῷ περάτῃ· αὐτὸς δὲ κατῴκει πρὸς τῇ δρυὶ τῇ Μαμβρη ὁ Αμορις τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ Εσχωλ καὶ ἀδελφοῦ Αυναν, οἳ ἦσαν συνωμόται τοῦ Αβραμ. | Then one who had escaped came, and told Abram the Hebrew, who was living by the oaks of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol and of Aner; these were allies of Abram. | וַיָּבֹא הַפָּלִיט וַיַּגֵּד לְאַבְרָם הָעִבְרִי וְהוּא שֹׁכֵן בְּאֵלֹנֵי מַמְרֵא הָאֱמֹרִי אֲחִי אֶשְׁכֹּל וַאֲחִי עָנֵר וְהֵם בַּעֲלֵי בְרִית־אַבְרָם׃ | 13 | ||
| 14 | ἀκούσας δὲ Αβραμ ὅτι ᾐχμαλώτευται Λωτ ὁ ἀδελφὸς αὐτοῦ, ἠρίθμησεν τοὺς ἰδίους οἰκογενεῖς αὐτοῦ, τριακοσίους δέκα καὶ ὀκτώ, καὶ κατεδίωξεν ὀπίσω αὐτῶν ἕως Δαν. | When Abram heard that his kinsman had been taken captive, he led forth his trained men, born in his house, three hundred and eighteen of them, and went in pursuit as far as Dan. | וַיִּשְׁמַע אַבְרָם כִּי נִשְׁבָּה אָחִיו וַיָּרֶק אֶת־חֲנִיכָיו יְלִידֵי בֵיתֹו שְׁמֹנָה עָשָׂר וּשְׁלֹשׁ מֵאֹות וַיִּרְדֹּף עַד־דָּן׃ | 14 | ||
| 15 | καὶ ἐπέπεσεν ἐπ' αὐτοὺς τὴν νύκτα, αὐτὸς καὶ οἱ παῖδες αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἐπάταξεν αὐτοὺς καὶ ἐδίωξεν αὐτοὺς ἕως Χωβα, ἥ ἐστιν ἐν ἀριστερᾷ Δαμασκοῦ. | And he divided his forces against them by night, he and his servants, and routed them and pursued them to Hobah, north of Damascus. | וַיֵּחָלֵק עֲלֵיהֶם לַיְלָה הוּא וַעֲבָדָיו וַיַּכֵּם וַיִּרְדְּפֵם עַד־חֹובָה אֲשֶׁר מִשְּׂמֹאל לְדַמָּשֶׂק׃ | 15 | ||
| 16 | καὶ ἀπέστρεψεν πᾶσαν τὴν ἵππον Σοδομων, καὶ Λωτ τὸν ἀδελφὸν αὐτοῦ ἀπέστρεψεν καὶ τὰ ὑπάρχοντα αὐτοῦ καὶ τὰς γυναῖκας καὶ τὸν λαόν. | Then he brought back all the goods, and also brought back his kinsman Lot with his goods, and the women and the people. | וַיָּשֶׁב אֵת כָּל־הָרְכֻשׁ וְגַם אֶת־לֹוט אָחִיו וּרְכֻשֹׁו הֵשִׁיב וְגַם אֶת־הַנָּשִׁים וְאֶת־הָעָם׃ | 16 | ||
| 17 | Ἑξῆλθεν δὲ βασιλεὺς Σοδομων εἰς συνάντησιν αὐτῷ - μετὰ τὸ ἀναστρέψαι αὐτὸν ἀπὸ τῆς κοπῆς τοῦ Χοδολλογομορ καὶ τῶν βασιλέων τῶν μετ' αὐτοῦ - εἰς τὴν κοιλάδα τὴν Σαυη [τοῦτο ἦν τὸ πεδίον βασιλέως]. | Melchizedek blesses Abram. Gn.14.17-24 | After his return from the defeat of Ched-or-lao'mer and the kings who were with him, the king of Sodom went out to meet him at the Valley of Shaveh (that is, the King's Valley). | וַיֵּצֵא מֶלֶךְ־סְדֹם לִקְרָאתֹו אַחֲרֵי שׁוּבֹו מֵהַכֹּות אֶת־כְּדָר־לָעֹמֶר וְאֶת־הַמְּלָכִים אֲשֶׁר אִתֹּו אֶל־עֵמֶק שָׁוֵה הוּא עֵמֶק הַמֶּלֶךְ׃ | 17 | |
| 18 | καὶ Μελχισεδεκ βασιλεὺς Σαλημ ἐξήνεγκεν ἄρτους καὶ οἶνον· ἦν δὲ ἱερεὺς τοῦ θεοῦ τοῦ ὑψίστου. | And Mel-chiz'edek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was priest of God Most High. | וּמַלְכִּי־צֶדֶק מֶלֶךְ שָׁלֵם הֹוצִיא לֶחֶם וָיָיִן וְהוּא כֹהֵן לְאֵל עֶלְיֹון׃ | 18 | ||
| 19 | καὶ ηὐλόγησεν τὸν Αβραμ καὶ εἶπεν ὃς ἔκτισεν τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ τὴν γῆν, |
And he blessed him and said, maker of heaven and earth; | וַיְבָרְכֵהוּ וַיֹּאמַר

| 20 | καὶ εὐλογητὸς ὁ θεὸς ὁ ὕψιστος, ὃς παρέδωκεν τοὺς ἐχθρούς σου ὑποχειρίους σοι. καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτῷ δεκάτην ἀπὸ πάντων. |
and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand!" And Abram gave him a tenth of everything. | וּבָרוּךְ אֵל עֶלְיֹון אֲשֶׁר־מִגֵּן צָרֶיךָ בְּיָדֶךָ וַיִּתֶּן־לֹו מַעֲשֵׂר מִכֹּל׃ | 20 | ||
| 21 | εἶπεν δὲ βασιλεὺς Σοδομων πρὸς Αβραμ Δός μοι τοὺς ἄνδρας, τὴν δὲ ἵππον λαβὲ σεαυτῷ | And the king of Sodom said to Abram, "Give me the persons, but take the goods for yourself." | וַיֹּאמֶר מֶלֶךְ־סְדֹם אֶל־אַבְרָם תֶּן־לִי הַנֶּפֶשׁ וְהָרְכֻשׁ קַח־לָךְ׃ | 21 | ||
| 22 | εἶπεν δὲ Αβραμ πρὸς βασιλέα Σοδομων Ἑκτενῶ τὴν χεῖρά μου πρὸς τὸν θεὸν τὸν ὕψιστον, ὃς ἔκτισεν τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ τὴν γῆν, | But Abram said to the king of Sodom, "I have sworn to the LORD God Most High, maker of heaven and earth, | וַיֹּאמֶר אַבְרָם אֶל־מֶלֶךְ סְדֹם הֲרִימֹתִי יָדִי אֶל־יְהוָה אֵל עֶלְיֹון קֹנֵה שָׁמַיִם וָאָרֶץ׃ | 22 | ||
| 23 | εἰ ἀπὸ σπαρτίου ἕως σφαιρωτῆρος ὑποδήματος λήμψομαι ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν σῶν, ἵνα μὴ εἴπῃς ὅτι Ἑγὼ ἐπλούτισα τὸν Αβραμ· | that I would not take a thread or a sandal-thong or anything that is yours, lest you should say, 'I have made Abram rich.' | אִם־מִחוּט וְעַד שְׂרֹוךְ־נַעַל וְאִם־אֶקַּח מִכָּל־אֲשֶׁר־לָךְ וְלֹא תֹאמַר אֲנִי הֶעֱשַׁרְתִּי אֶת־אַבְרָם׃ | 23 | ||
| 24 | πλὴν ὧν ἔφαγον οἱ νεανίσκοι καὶ τῆς μερίδος τῶν ἀνδρῶν τῶν συμπορευθέντων μετ' ἐμοῦ, Εσχωλ, Αυναν, Μαμβρη, οὗτοι λήμψονται μερίδα. | I will take nothing but what the young men have eaten, and the share of the men who went with me; let Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre take their share." | בִּלְעָדַי רַק אֲשֶׁר אָכְלוּ הַנְּעָרִים וְחֵלֶק הָאֲנָשִׁים אֲשֶׁר הָלְכוּ אִתִּי עָנֵר אֶשְׁכֹּל וּמַמְרֵא הֵם יִקְחוּ חֶלְקָם׃ ס | 24 | ||
