1Præcepit autem Moyses et seniores Israël populo, dicentes: Custodite omne mandatum quod præcipio vobis hodie. Forsothe Moyses comaundide, and the eldre men, to the puple of Israel, and seiden, Kepe ye ech comaundement which Y comaunde to you to dai. And Moses with the ancients of Israel commanded the people, saying: Keep every commandment that I command you this day. An altar at Mount Ebal. Dt.27.1-10
2Cumque transieritis Jordanem in terram, quam Dominus Deus tuus dabit tibi, eriges ingentes lapides, et calce lævigabis eos, And whanne ye han passid Jordan, in to the lond which thi Lord God schal yyue to thee, thou schalt reyse grete stoonus, and thou schalt make tho pleyn with chalk, And when you are passed over the Jordan into the land which the Lord thy God will give thee, thou shalt set up great stones, and shalt plaster them over with plaster,  
3ut possis in eis scribere omnia verba legis hujus, Jordane transmisso: ut introëas terram, quam Dominus Deus tuus dabit tibi, terram lacte et melle manantem, sicut juravit patribus tuis. that thou mow write in tho alle the wordis of this lawe, whanne Jordan is passid, that thou entre in to the lond which thi Lord God schal yyue to thee, the lond flowynge with mylke and hony, as he swoor to thi fadris. That thou mayst write on them all the words of this law, when thou art passed over the Jordan: that thou mayst enter into the land which the Lord thy God will give thee, a land flowing with milk and honey, as he swore to thy fathers.  
4Quando ergo transieritis Jordanem, erigite lapides, quos ego hodie præcipio vobis in monte Hebal, et lævigabis eos calce: Therfor whanne thou hast passid Jordan, reise thou the stonus whiche Y comaunde to dai to thee, in the hil of Hebal; and thou schalt make tho pleyn with chalk. Therefore when you are passed over the Jordan, set up the stones which I command you this day, in mount Hebal, and thou shalt plaster them with plaster:  
5et ædificabis ibi altare Domino Deo tuo de lapidibus, quos ferrum non tetigit, And there thou schalt bilde an auter to thi Lord God, of stoonys whiche yrun touchide not, And thou shalt build there an altar to the Lord thy God, of stones which iron hath not touched,  
6et de saxis informibus et impolitis: et offeres super eo holocausta Domino Deo tuo, and of stonys vnformed and vnpolischid; and thou schalt offre theron brent sacrifices to thi Lord God; and thou schalt offre pesible sacrifices, And of stones not fashioned nor polished: and thou shalt offer upon it holocausts to the Lord thy God:  
7et immolabis hostias pacificas, comedesque ibi, et epulaberis coram Domino Deo tuo. and thou schalt ete there, and thou schalt make feeste bifor thi Lord God. And shalt immolate peace victims, and eat there, and feast before the Lord thy God.  
8Et scribes super lapides omnia verba legis hujus plane et lucide. And thou schalt write pleynli and clereli on the stoonys alle the wordis of this lawe. And thou shalt write upon the stones all the words of this law plainly and clearly,  
9Dixeruntque Moyses et sacerdotes Levitici generis ad omnem Israëlem: Attende, et audi, Israël: hodie factus es populus Domini Dei tui: And Moises and the preestis of the kynde of Leuy seiden to al Israel, Israel, perseyue thou, and here; to day thou art maad the puple of thi Lord God; And Moses and the priests of the race of Levi said to all Israel: Attend, and hear, O Israel: This day thou art made the people of the Lord thy God.  
10audies vocem ejus, et facies mandata atque justitias, quas ego præcipio tibi. thou schalt here his vois, and thou schalt do the comaundementis, and riytfulnessis, whiche Y comaunde to thee to dai. Thou shalt hear his voice, and do the commandments and justices which I command thee.
