Also thou schalt make the racional of doom by werk of dyuerse colours, bi the weuyng of the cloth on the schuldre, of gold, iacynt, and purpur, of reed silk twies died, and of bijs foldid ayen. And thou shalt make the rational of judgment with embroidered work of divers colours, according to the workmanship of the ephod, of gold, violet, and purple, and scarlet twice dyed, and fine twisted linen. 16Quadrangulum erit et duplex: mensuram palmi habebit tam in longitudine quam in latitudine. It schal be foure cornerid, and double; it schal haue the mesure of a pawme of the hond, as wel in lengthe, as in breede. It shall be foursquare and doubled: it shall be the measure of a span both in length and in breadth.  
17Ponesque in eo quatuor ordines lapidum: in primo versu erit lapis sardius, et topazius, et smaragdus: And thou schalt sette ther ynne foure ordris of stoonys; in the firste ordre schal be the stoon sardius, and topazyus, and smaragdus; And thou shalt set in it four rows of stones: in the first row shall be a sardius stone, and a topaz, and an emerald:  
18in secundo carbunculus, sapphirus, et jaspis: in the secunde ordre schal be charbuncle, safir, and iaspis; in the thridde ordre schal be ligurie, In the second a carbuncle, a sapphire and a jasper.  
19in tertio ligurius, achates, et amethystus: achates, and ametiste; In the third a ligurius, an agate, and an amethyst:  
20in quarto chrysolithus, onychinus, et beryllus. Inclusi auro erunt per ordines suos. in the fourthe ordre schal be crisolitus, onochyn, and berille; tho schulen be closid in gold, bi her ordris, In the fourth a chrysolite, an onyx, and a beryl. They shall be set in gold by their rows.  
21Habebuntque nomina filiorum Israël: duodecim nominibus cælabuntur, singuli lapides nominibus singulorum per duodecim tribus. and schulen haue the names of the sones of Israel: tho schulen be graven with twelue names; al stonus bi hem silf, with the names of the sones of Israel bi hem silf, bi twelue lynagis. And they shall have the names of the children of Israel: with twelve names shall they be engraved, each stone with the name of one according to the twelve tribes.  
22Facies in rationali catenas sibi invicem cohærentes ex auro purissimo, Thou schalt make in the racional chaynes cleuynge to hem silf togidere of pureste gold, And thou shalt make on the rational chains linked one to another of the purest gold:  
23et duos annulos aureos, quos pones in utraque rationalis summitate: and thou schalt make twei goldun ryngis, whiche thou schalt sette in euer either hiynesse of racional. And two rings of gold, which thou shalt put in the two ends at the top of the rational.  
24catenasque aureas junges annulis, qui sunt in marginibus ejus, And thou schalt ioyne the goldun chaynes with the ryngis that ben in the brynkis therof, And the golden chains thou shalt join to the rings, that are in the ends thereof:  
25et ipsarum catenarum extrema duobus copulabis uncinis in utroque latere superhumeralis quod rationale respicit. and thou schalt couple the last thingis of tho chaynes to twey hookis in euer either side of the cloth on the schuldur, that biholdith the racional. And the ends of the chains themselves thou shalt join together with two hooks on both sides of the ephod, which is towards the rational.  
26Facies et duos annulos aureos, quos pones in summitatibus rationalis, in oris, quæ e regione sunt superhumeralis, et posteriora ejus aspiciunt. And thou schalt make twei goldun ryngis, whiche thou schalt sette in the hiynesses of the racional, and in the hemmes of the cloth on the schuldur, that ben euene ayens, and biholden the lattere thingis therof. Thou shalt make also two rings of gold which thou shalt put in the top parts of the rational, in the borders that are over against the ephod, and look towards the back parts thereof.
