2Et congregavit omnes principes Israël, et sacerdotes atque Levitas. And he gaderide togidere alle the princes of Israel, and the preestis, and dekenes; And he gathered together all the princes of Israel, and the priests and Levites. The work of the Levites. 1Chr.23.2-32
3Numeratique sunt Levitæ a triginta annis, et supra: et inventa sunt triginta octo millia virorum. and the dekenes weren noumbrid fro twenti yeer and aboue, and eiyte and thretti thousynde of men weren foundun. And the Levites were numbered from the age of thirty years, and upwards: and there were found of them thirty-eight thousand men.  
4Ex his electi sunt, et distributi in ministerium domus Domini viginti quatuor millia: præpositorum autem et judicum sex millia. And foure and twenty thousynde men weren chosun of hem, and weren departid in to the seruyce of the hows of the Lord; sotheli of souereyns, and iugis, sixe thousynde; Of these twenty-four thousand were chosen, and distributed unto the ministry of the house of the Lord: and six thousand were the overseers and judges.  
5Porro quatuor millia janitores: et totidem psaltæ canentes Domino in organis, quæ fecerat ad canendum. forsothe foure thousynde porteris weren, and so many syngeris, syngynge to the Lord in orguns, whiche Dauid hadde maad for to synge. Moreover four thousand were porters: and as many singers singing to the Lord with the instruments, which he had made to sing with.  
6Et distribuit eos David per vices filiorum Levi, Gerson videlicet, et Caath, et Merari. And Dauid departide hem bi the whilis of the sones of Leuy, that is, of Gerson, and of Caath, and Merary. And David distributed them into courses by the families of the sons of Levi, to wit, of Gerson, and of Caath, and of Merari.  
7Filii Gerson: Leedan, et Semei. And the sones of Gerson weren Leedan and Semeye. The sons of Gerson were Leedan and Semei.  
8Filii Leedan: princeps Jahiel, et Zethan, et Joël, tres. The sones of Leedan weren thre, the prince Jehiel, and Ethan, and Johel. The sons of Leedan: the chief Jahiel, and Zethan, and Joel, three.  
9Filii Semei: Salomith, et Hosiel, et Aran, tres: isti principes familiarum Leedan. The sones of Semei weren thre, Salamyth, and Oziel, and Aram; these weren the princes of the meynees of Leedan. The sons of Semei: Salomith, and Hosiel, and Aran, three: these were the heads of the families of Leedan.  
10Porro filii Semei: Leheth, et Ziza, et Jaus, et Baria: isti filii Semei, quatuor. Forsothe the sones of Semeye weren Leeth, and Ziza, and Yaus, and Baria, these foure weren the sones of Semei. And the sons of Semei were Leheth, and Ziza, and Jaus, and Baria: these were the sons of Semei, four.  
11Erat autem Leheth prior, Ziza secundus: porro Jaus et Baria non habuerunt plurimos filios, et idcirco in una familia, unaque domo computati sunt. Sotheli Leeth was the formere, and Ziza the secounde; forsothe Yaus and Baria hadden not ful many sones, and therfor thei weren rikenyd in o meynee and oon hows. And Leheth was the first, Ziza the second: but Jaus and Baria had not many children, and therefore they were counted in one family, and in one house.  
12Filii Caath: Amram, et Isaar, Hebron, et Oziel, quatuor. The sones of Caath weren foure, Amram, and Ysaac, Ebron, and Oziel. The sons of Caath were Amram, and Isaar, Hebron, and Oziel, four.  
13Filii Amram: Aaron, et Moyses. Separatusque est Aaron ut ministraret in Sancto sanctorum, ipse et filii ejus in sempiternum, et adoleret incensum Domino secundum ritum suum, ac benediceret nomini ejus in perpetuum. The sones of Amram weren Aaron and Moyses; and Aaron was departid, that he schulde mynystre in the hooli thing of hooli thingis, he and hise sones with outen ende, and to brenne encense to the Lord bi his custom, and to blesse his name with outen ende. The sons of Amram, Aaron, and Moses. And Aaron was separated to minister in the holy of holies, he and his sons for ever, and to burn incense before the Lord, according to his ceremonies, and to bless his name for ever.  
14Moysi quoque hominis Dei filii annumerati sunt in tribu Levi. Also the sones of Moyses, man of God, weren noumbrid in the lynage of Leuy. The sons also of Moses, the man of God, were numbered in the tribe of Levi.  
15Filii Moysi: Gersom, et Eliezer. The sones of Moises weren Gerson and Elieser. The sons of Moses were Gersom and Eliezer:  
16Filii Gersom: Subuel primus. The sones of Gerson; Subuhel the firste. The sons of Gersom: Subuel the first.  
17Fuerunt autem filii Eliezer: Rohobia primus: et non erant Eliezer filii alii. Porro filii Rohobia multiplicati sunt nimis. Sotheli the sones of Eliezer weren Roboya the firste, and othere sones weren not to Eliezer; forsothe the sones of Roboia weren multipliede ful miche. And the sons of Eliezer were: Rohobia the first: and Eliezer had no more sons. But the sons of Rohobia were multiplied exceedingly.  
18Filii Isaar: Salomith primus. The sones of Isaar; Salumuth the firste. The sons of Isaar: Salomith the first.  
19Filii Hebron: Jeriau primus, Amarias secundus, Jahaziel tertius, Jecmaam quartus. The sones of Ebron; Jerian the firste, Amarias the secounde, Jaziel the thridde, Jethamaan the fourthe. The sons of Hebron: Jeriau the first, Amarias the second, Jahaziel the third, Jecmaam the fourth.  
20Filii Oziel: Micha primus, Jesia secundus. The sones of Oziel; Mycha the firste, Jesia the secounde. The sons of Oziel: Micha the first, Jesia the second.  
21Filii Merari: Moholi, et Musi. Filii Moholi: Eleazar, et Cis. The sones of Merari weren Mooli and Musi. The sones of Mooli weren Eleazar, and Cys. The sons of Merari: Moholi, and Musi. The sons of Moholi: Eleazar and Cia.  
22Mortuus est autem Eleazar, et non habuit filios, sed filias: acceperuntque eas filii Cis fratres earum. Sotheli Eleazar was deed, and hadde not sones, but douytris; and the sones of Cys, the britheren of hem, weddiden hem. And Eleazar died, and had no sons but daughters: and the sons of Cis their brethren took them.  
23Filii Musi: Moholi, et Eder, et Jerimoth, tres. The sones of Musi weren thre, Mooli, and Heder, and Jerymuth. The sons of Musi: Moholi, and Eder, and Jerimoth, three.  
24Hi filii Levi in cognationibus et familiis suis, principes per vices, et numerum capitum singulorum, qui faciebant opera ministerii domus Domini, a viginti annis et supra. These weren the sones of Leuy in her kynredis and meynees, prynces bi whilis, and noumbre of alle heedis, that diden the trauel of the seruyce of the hows of the Lord, fro twenti yeer and aboue. These are the sons of Levi in their kindreds and families, princes by their courses, and the number of every head that did the works of the ministry of the house of the Lord from twenty years old and upward.  
25Dixit enim David: Requiem dedit Dominus Deus Israël populo suo, et habitationem Jerusalem usque in æternum. For Dauid seide, The Lord God of Israel hath youe reste to his puple, and a dwellyng in Jerusalem til in to with outen ende; For David said: The Lord the God of Israel hath given rest to his people, and a habitation in Jerusalem for ever.  
26Nec erit officii Levitarum ut ultra portent tabernaculum, et omnia vasa ejus ad ministrandum. and it schal not be the office of dekenes for to bere more the tabernacle, and alle vessels therof for to mynystre. And it shall not be the office of the Levites to carry any more the tabernacle, and all the vessels for the service thereof.  
27Juxta præcepta quoque David novissima supputabitur numerus filiorum Levi a viginti annis et supra. Also bi the laste comaundementis of Dauid the noumbre of the sones of Leuy schulen be rikened fro twenti yeer and aboue; So according to the last precepts of David, the sons of Levi are to be numbered from twenty years old and upward.  
28Et erunt sub manu filiorum Aaron in cultum domus Domini, in vestibulis, et in exedris, et in loco purificationis, et in sanctuario, et in universis operibus ministerii templi Domini. and thei schulen be vndir the hond of the sones of Aaron in to the worschipe of the hows of the Lord, in porchis, and in chaumbris, and in the place of clensyng, and in the seyntuarie, and in alle werkis of the seruyce of the temple of the Lord. And they are to be under the hand of the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of the Lord, in the porches, and in the chambers, and in the place of purification, and in the sanctuary, and in all the works of the ministry of the temple of the Lord.  
29Sacerdotes autem, super panes propositionis, et ad similæ sacrificium, et ad lagana azyma, et sartaginem, et ad torrendum, et super omne pondus atque mensuram. Forsothe preestis schulen be ouer the looues of proposicioun, and to the sacrifice of flour, and to the pastis sodun in watir, and to the therf looues, and friyng panne, and to hoot flour, and to seenge, and ouer al weiyte and mesure. And the priests have the charge of the leaves of proposition, and of the sacrifice of fine flour, and of the unleavened cakes, and of the fryingpan, and of the roasting, and of every weight and measure.  
30Levitæ vero ut stent mane ad confitendum, et canendum Domino: similiterque ad vesperam, Forsothe the dekenes schulen be, that thei stonde eerli, for to knowleche and synge to the Lord, and lijk maner at euentide, And the Levites are to stand in the morning to give thanks, and to sing praises to the Lord: and in like manner in the evening,  
31tam in oblatione holocaustorum Domini, quam in sabbatis et calendis et solemnitatibus reliquis juxta numerum, et cæremonias uniuscujusque rei, jugiter coram Domino. as wel in the offryng of brent sacrifices of the Lord, as in sabatis, and kalendis, and othere solempnytees, bi the noumbre and cerymonyes of eche thing contynueli bifor the Lord; As well in the oblation of the holocausts of the Lord, as in the sabbaths and in the new moons, and the rest of the solemnities, according to the number and ceremonies prescribed for every thing, continually before the Lord.  
32Et custodiant observationes tabernaculi fœderis, et ritum sanctuarii, et observationem filiorum Aaron fratrum suorum, ut ministrent in domo Domini. and that thei kepe the obseruaunces of the tabernacle of the boond of pees of the Lord, and the custum of the seyntuarie, and the obseruaunce of the sones of Aaron, her britheren, that thei mynystre in the hows of the Lord. And let them keep the observances of the tabernacle of the covenant, and the ceremonies of the sanctuary, and the charge of the sons of Aaron their brethren, that they may minister in the house of the Lord.
