15Anno vigesimo septimo Asa regis Juda, regnavit Zambri septem diebus in Thersa: porro exercitus obsidebat Gebbethon urbem Philisthinorum. In the seuene and twentithe yeer of Aza, kyng of Juda, Zamri regnede seuene daies in Tharsa; forsothe the oost bisegide Gebethon, the citee of Philisteis. In the seven and twentieth year of Asa king of Juda, Zambri reigned seven days in Thersa: now the army was besieging Gebbethon a city of the Philistines. ZIMRI king of Israel. (886 BCE) 1Kgs.16.15-20
16Cumque audisset rebellasse Zambri, et occidisse regem, fecit sibi regem omnis Israël Amri, qui erat princeps militiæ super Israël in die illa in castris. And whanne it hadde herd, that Zamri hadde rebellid, and hadde slayn the kyng, al Israel made Amry kyng to hem, that was prince of the chyualrye, on Israel, in that dai, in the castels. And when they heard that Zambri had rebelled, and slain the king, all Israel made Amri their king, who was general over Israel in the camp that day.  
17Ascendit ergo Amri, et omnis Israël cum eo, de Gebbethon, et obsidebant Thersa. Therfor Amry stiede, and al Israel with hym, fro Gebethon, and bisegide Thersa. And Amri went up, and all Israel with him from Gebbethon, and they besieged Thersa.  
18Videns autem Zambri quod expugnanda esset civitas, ingressus est palatium, et succendit se cum domo regia: et mortuus est Sothely Zamri siy, that the citee schulde be ouercomun, and he entride in to the palis, and brente hym silf with the kyngis hows; And Zambri seeing that the city was about to be taken, went into the palace and burnt himself with the king's house: and he died  
19in peccatis suis quæ peccaverat, faciens malum coram Domino, et ambulans in via Jeroboam, et in peccato ejus, quo fecit peccare Israël. and he was deed in hise synnes whiche he synnede, doynge yuel bifor the Lord, and goynge in the weie of Jeroboam, and in hise synnes, bi whiche he made Israel to do synne. In his sins, which he had sinned, doing evil before the Lord, and walking in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin, wherewith he made Israel to sin.  
20Reliqua autem sermonum Zambri, et insidiarum ejus, et tyrannidis, nonne hæc scripta sunt in libro verborum dierum regum Israël? Sotheli the residue of wordis of Zamri, and of his tresouns, and tyrauntrie, whether these ben not writun in the book of wordis of daies of the kyngis of Israel? But the rest of the acts of Zambri, and of his conspiracy and tyranny, are they not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Israel?
