32Locutus est quoque Salomon tria millia parabolas: et fuerunt carmina ejus quinque et mille. And Salomon spak thre thousynde parablis, and hise songis weren fyue thousynde; Solomon also spoke three thousand parables: and his poems were a thousand and five.  
33Et disputavit super lignis a cedro quæ est in Libano, usque ad hyssopum quæ egreditur de pariete: et disseruit de jumentis, et volucribus, et reptilibus, et piscibus. and he disputide of trees fro a cedre which is in the Lyban, til to the ysope that goith out of the wal; he disputide of werk beestis, and briddis, and crepynge beestis, and fischis. And he treated about trees from the cedar that is in Libanus, unto the hyssop that cometh out of the wall: and he discoursed of beasts, and of fowls, and of creeping things, and of fishes.  
10Expletis autem annis viginti postquam ædificaverat Salomon duas domos, id est, domum Domini, et domum regis Sotheli whanne twenti yeer weren fillid, aftir that Salomon hadde bildid tweyne housis, that is, the hows of the Lord, and the hows of the kyng, while Hiram, And when twenty years were ended after Solomon had built the two houses, that is, the house of the Lord, and the house of the king, Solomon's agreement with King Hyram. 1Kgs.9.10-14 | 2Chr.8.1-2
11(Hiram rege Tyri præbente Salomoni ligna cedrina et abiegna, et aurum juxta omne quod opus habuerat), tunc dedit Salomon Hiram viginti oppida in terra Galilææ. kyng of Tire, yaf to Salomon trees of cedre, and of beech, and gold, bi al thing that he hadde nedeful; thanne Salomon yaf to Hiram twenti citees in the lond of Galile. 11(Hiram the king of Tyre furnishing Solomon with cedar trees and fir trees, and gold according to all he had need of.) then Solomon gave Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.  
12Et egressus est Hiram de Tyro ut videret oppida quæ dederat ei Salomon, et non placuerunt ei. And Hiram yede out of Tyre that he schulde se the citees, whiche Salomon hadde youe to hym, and tho plesiden not hym; And Hiram came out of Tyre, to see the towns which Solomon had given him, and they pleased him not,  
13Et ait: Hæccine sunt civitates quas dedisti mihi, frater? Et appellavit eas terram Chabul, usque in diem hanc. and he seide, Whethir thes ben the citees, whiche thou, brother, hast youe to me? And he clepide tho citees the lond of Chabul, til in to this dai. And he said: Are these the cities which thou hast given me, brother? And he called them the land of Chabul, unto this day.  
14Misit quoque Hiram ad regem Salomonem centum viginti talenta auri. Also Hiram sente to king Salomon sixe score talentis of gold. And Hiram sent to king Solomon a hundred and twenty talents of gold.  
15Hæc est summa expensarum quam obtulit rex Salomon ad ædificandam domum Domini et domum suam, et Mello, et murum Jerusalem, et Heser, et Mageddo, et Gazer. This is the summe of costis, which summe Salomon the kyng yaf to bilde the hows of the Lord, and his house Mello, and the wal of Jerusalem, and Ezer, and Maggeddo, and Gazer. This is the sum of the expenses, which king Solomon offered to build the house of the Lord, and his own house, and Mello, and the wall of Jerusalem, and Heser, and Mageddo, and Gazer. 16Pharao rex Ægypti ascendit, et cepit Gazar, succenditque eam igni, et Chananæum, qui habitabat in civitate, interfecit: et dedit eam in dotem filiæ suæ uxori Salomonis. Farao, kyng of Egipt, stiede, and took Gazer, and brente it bi fier; and he killide Chananei, that dwellide in the citee, and yaf it in to dower to his douytir, the wijf of Salomon. Pharao the king of Egypt came up and took Gazer, and burnt it with fire: and slew the Chanaanite that dwelt in the city, and gave it for a dowry to his daughter, Solomon's wife.  
17Ædificavit ergo Salomon Gazer, et Bethoron inferiorem, Therfor Salomon bildide Gazer, and the lower Bethoron, So Solomon built: Gazer, and Beth-horon the nether,  
18et Balaath, et Palmiram in terra solitudinis. and Balaath, and Palmyra in the lond of wildirnesse; And Baalath, and Palmira in the land of the wilderness.  
19Et omnes vicos qui ad se pertinebant et erant absque muro, munivit, et civitates curruum et civitates equitum, et quodcumque ei placuit ut ædificaret in Jerusalem, et in Libano, et in omni terra potestatissuæ. and he made strong alle the townes, that perteyneden to hym, and weren with out wal, and the citees of chaaris, and the citees of knyytis, and what euer thing pleside hym to bilde in Jerusalem, and in the Liban, and in al the lond of his power. And all the towns that belonged to himself, and were not walled, he fortified, the cities also of the chariots, and the cities of the horsemen, and whatsoever he had a mind to build in Jerusalem, and in Libanus, and in all the land of his dominion.  
20Universum populum qui remanserat de Amorrhæis, et Hethæis, et Pherezæis, et Hevæis, et Jebusæis, qui non sunt de filiis Israël: Salomon made tributaries til to this dai al the puple, that lefte of Ammorreis, Etheis, and Fereseis, and Eueys, and Jebuseys, that ben not of the sones of Israel, All the people that were left of the Amorrhites, and Hethites, and Pherezites, and Hevites, and Jebusites, that are not of the children of Israel:  
21horum filios qui remanserant in terra, quos scilicet non potuerant filii Israël exterminare, fecit Salomon tributarios usque in diem hanc. the sones of these hethen men, that dwelliden in the lond, that is, whiche the sones of Israel myyten not distrye. Their children, that were left in the land, to wit, such as the children of Israel had not been able to destroy, Solomon made tributary unto this day.  
22De filiis autem Israël non constituit Salomon servire quemquam, sed erant viri bellatores, et ministri ejus, et principes, et duces, et præfecti curruum et equorum. Sotheli kyng Salomon ordeynede not ony man of the sones of Israel to serue, but thei weren men werriours, and mynystris of him, and princes, and dukis, and prefectis of his chares and horsis. But of the children of Israel Solomon made not any to be bondmen, but they were men of war, and his servants, and his princes, and captains, and overseers of the chariots and horses.  
23Erant autem principes super omnia opera Salomonis præpositi quingenti quinquaginta, qui habebant subjectum populum, et statutis operibus imperabant. Sotheli fyue hundrid and fifti souereynes weren princes ouer alle the werkis of Salomon, whiche princes hadden the puple suget, and comaundiden to werkis ordeyned. And there were five hundred and fifty chief officers set over all the works of Solomon, and they had people under them, and had charge over the appointed works.  
24Filia autem Pharaonis ascendit de civitate David in domum suam, quam ædificaverat ei Salomon: tunc ædificavit Mello. Sotheli the douyter of Farao stiede fro the citee of Dauid in to hir hows, which hows Salomon hadde bildid to hir; thanne he bildide Mello. And the daughter of Pharao came up out of the city of David to her house, which Solomon had built for her: then did he build Mello.  
25Offerebat quoque Salomon, tribus vicibus per annos singulos, holocausta et pacificas victimas super altare quod ædificaverat Domino, et adolebat thymiama coram Domino: perfectumque est templum. Also Salomon offride in thre tymes bi alle yeeris brent sacrifices and pesible sacrifices, on the auter which he hadde bildid to the Lord; and he brente encense bifor the Lord, and the temple was performed. Solomon also offered three times every year holocausts, and victims of peace offerings upon the altar which he had built to the Lord, and he burnt incense before the Lord: and the temple was finished.  
26Classem quoque fecit rex Salomon in Asiongaber, quæ est juxta Ailath in littore maris Rubri, in terra Idumææ. Also king Salomon made o schip in Asiongaber, which is bisidis Haila, in the brenke of the Reed sea, and in the lond of Idumee. And king Solomon made a fleet in Asiongaber, which is by Ailath on the shore of the Red Sea in the land of Edom.  
27Misitque Hiram in classe illa servos suos viros nauticos et gnaros maris, cum servis Salomonis. And Iram sente in that schip hise seruauntis, schipmen, and kunnynge of the see, with the seruauntis of Salomon; And Hiram sent his servants in the fleet, sailors that had knowledge of the sea, with the servants of Solomon.  
28Qui cum venissent in Ophir, sumptum inde aurum quadringentorum viginti talentorum, detulerunt ad regem Salomonem. and whanne thei hadden come in to Ophir, thei brouyten fro thennus gold of foure hundrid and twenti talentis to kyng Salomon. And they came to Ophir, and they brought from thence to king Solomon four hundred and twenty talents of gold.  
23Magnificatus est ergo rex Salomon super omnes reges terræ divitiis et sapientia. Therfor kyng Salomon was magnified aboue alle kyngis of erthe in richessis and wisdom. 24Et universa terra desiderabat vultum Salomonis, ut audiret sapientiam ejus, quam dederat Deus in corde ejus. And al erthe desiride to se the cheer of Salomon, to here the wisdom of him, which wisdom God hadde youe in his herte. And all the earth desired to see Solomon's face, to hear his wisdom, which God had given in his heart.  
25Et singuli deferebant ei munera, vasa argentea et aurea, vestes et arma bellica, aromata quoque, et equos et mulos per annos singulos. And alle men brouyten yiftis to hym, vessels of gold, and of siluer, clothis, and armeris of batel, and swete smellynge thingis, and horsis, and mulis, bi ech yeer. And every one brought him presents, vessels of silver and of gold, garments and armour, and spices, and horses and mules every year.
