12Tunc ait Salomon:
Dominus dixit ut habitaret in nebula.
Thanne Salomon seide,
The Lord seide, that he wolde dwelle in a cloude.
Then Solomon said:
The Lord said that he would dwell in a cloud.

13Ædificans ædificavi domum in habitaculum tuum:
firmissimum solium tuum in sempiternum.
Y bildynge haue bildid an hows in to thi dwelling place,
in to thi moost stidefast trone with outen ende.
Building I have built a house for thy dwelling,
to be thy most firm throne for ever.

And the kyng turnede his face, and blesside al the chirche in Israel; for al the chirche of Israel stood. And the king turned his face, and blessed all the assembly of Israel: for all the assembly of Israel stood. Solomon's address to the people. 1Kgs.8.14-21 | 2Chr.6.3-11
And Salomon seide, Blessid be the Lord God of Israel, that spak with his mouth to Dauid, my fadir, and performyde in hise hondis, and seide, And Solomon said: Blessed be the Lord the God of Israel, who spoke with his mouth to David my father, and with his own hands hath accomplished it, saying:
16A die qua eduxi populum meum Israël de Ægypto, non elegi civitatem de universis tribubus Israël, ut ædificaretur domus, et esset nomen meum ibi: sed elegi David ut esset super populum meum Israël. Fro the dai in which Y ledde my puple Israel out of Egipt, Y chees not a citee of alle the lynagis of Israel, that an hows schulde be bildid, and my name schulde be there; but Y chees Dauid, that he schulde be ouer my puple Israel. Since the day that I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel, for a house to be built, that my name might be there: but I chose David to be over my people Israel.
17Voluitque David pater meus ædificare domum nomini Domini Dei Israël: And Dauid, my fadir, wolde bilde an hows to the name of the Lord God of Israel. And David my father would have built a house to the name of the Lord the God of Israel:
18et ait Dominus ad David patrem meum: Quod cogitasti in corde tuo ædificare domum nomini meo, bene fecisti, hoc ipsum mente tractans. And the Lord seide to Dauid, my fadir, That thou thouytist in thin herte to bilde an hows to my name, thou didist wel, tretynge this same thing in soule; And the Lord said to David my father: Whereas thou hast thought in thy heart to build a house to my name, thou hast done well in having this same thing in thy mind.
19Verumtamen tu non ædificabis mihi domum, sed filius tuus, qui egredietur de renibus tuis, ipse ædificabit domum nomini meo. netheles thou schalt not bilde an hows to me, but thi sone, that schal go out of thi reynes, he schal bilde an hows to my name. Nevertheless thou shalt not build me a house, but thy son, that shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build a house to my name.
The Lord hath confermyd his word, which he spak; and Y stood for Dauid, my fadir, and Y sat on the trone of Israel, as the Lord spak; and Y haue bildid an hows to the name of the Lord God of Israel. The Lord hath performed his word which he spoke : and I stand in the room of David my father, and sit upon the throne of Israel, as the Lord promised: and have built a house to the name of the Lord the God of Israel.
And Y haue ordeyned there a place of the arke, in which arke the boond of pees of the Lord is, which he smoot with oure fadris, whanne thei yeden out of the lond of Egipt. And I have set there a place for the ark, wherein is the covenant of the Lord, which he made with our fathers, when they came out of the land of Egypt.
