Tunc congregati sunt omnes majores natu Israël cum principibus tribuum, et duces familiarum filiorum Israël, ad regem Salomonem in Jerusalem, ut deferrent arcam fœderis Domini de civitate David, id est,de Sion. Thanne alle the gretter men in birthe in Israel, with the princes of lynagis, and the duykis of meynees of the sones of Israel, weren gaderid to kyng Salomon, in to Jerusalem, that thei schulden bere the arke of boond of pees of the Lord fro the citee of Dauid, that is, fro Syon. Then all the ancients of Israel with the princes of the tribes, and the heads of the families of the children of Israel were assembled to king Solomon in Jerusalem: that they might carry the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of the city of David, that is, out of Sion. The Ark is brought into the temple. 1Kgs.8.1-13 | 2Chr.5.2-6.2
Convenitque ad regem Salomonem universus Israël in mense Ethanim, in solemni die: ipse est mensis septimus. And al Israel cam to gidere in the moneth Bethanym, in the solempne dai; thilke is the seuenthe moneth. And all Israel assembled themselves to king Solomon on the festival day in the month of Ethanim, the same is the seventh month.
Veneruntque cuncti senes de Israël, et tulerunt arcam sacerdotes, And alle the elde men of Israel camen; and the preestis token the arke, And all the ancients of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark,
et portaverunt arcam Domini, et tabernaculum fœderis, et omnia vasa sanctuarii quæ erant in tabernaculo: et ferebant ea sacerdotes et Levitæ. and baren the arke of the Lord, and the tabernacle of boond of pees, and alle vessels of the seyntuarye, that weren in the tabernacle; and the preestis and dekenes baren tho. And carried the ark of the Lord, and the tabernacle of the covenant, and all the vessels of the sanctuary, that were in the tabernacle: and the priests and the Levites carried them.
Rex autem Salomon, et omnis multitudo Israël quæ convenerat ad eum, gradiebatur cum illo ante arcam, et immolabant oves et boves absque æstimatione et numero. Sotheli kyng Salomon, and al the multitude of Israel, that camen togidere to hym, yede with hym bifor the arke; and thei offriden scheep and oxis, with out gessyng and noumbre. And king Solomon, and all the multitude of Israel, that were assembled unto him went with him before the ark, and they sacrificed sheep and oxen that could not be counted or numbered.
Et intulerunt sacerdotes arcam fœderis Domini in locum suum, in oraculum templi, in Sanctum sanctorum, subter alas cherubim. And prestis brouyten the arke of boond of pees of the Lord in to his place, in to Goddis answerynge place of the temple, in to the hooli of hooli thingis, vndur the wengis of cherubyns. And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the Lord into its place, into the oracle of the temple, into the holy of holies under the wings of the cherubims.
Siquidem cherubim expandebant alas super locum arcæ, et protegebant arcam, et vectes ejus desuper. Forsothe cherubyns spredden forth wengis ouer the place of the arke; and hiliden the arke, and the barris therof aboue. For the cherubims spread forth their wings over the place of the ark, and covered the art, and the staves thereof above.
Cumque eminerent vectes, et apparerent summitates eorum foris sanctuarium ante oraculum, non apparebant ultra extrinsecus, qui et fuerunt ibi usque in præsentem diem. And whanne the barris stoden forth, and the hiynesse of tho apperiden with out the seyntuarye, bifor Goddis answerynge place, tho apperyden no ferther with outforth; whiche barris also weren there til in to present day. And whereas the staves stood out, the ends of them were seen without in the sanctuary before the oracle, but were not seen farther out, and there they have been unto this day.
In arca autem non erat aliud nisi duæ tabulæ lapideæ quas posuerat in ea Moyses in Horeb, quando pepigit Dominus fœdus cum filiis Israël, cum egrederentur de terra Ægypti. Forsothe in the arke is noon other thing, no but twei tablis of stoon, whiche tablis Moyses in Oreb hadde put in the ark, whanne the Lord made boond of pees with the sones of Israel, whanne thei yeden out of the loond of Egipt. Now in the ark there was nothing else but the two tables of stone, which Moses put there at Horeb, when the Lord made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.
