Forsothe Absolon, and al the puple of Israel entriden in to Jerusalem, but also Achitofel with hym. But Absalom and all his people came into Jerusalem, and Achitophel was with him. Absalom in Jerusalem. 2Sm.16.15-23
Sotheli whanne Chusi of Arath, the frend of Dauid, hadde come to Absolon, he spak to Absolon, Heil, kyng! heil, kyng! And when Chusai the Arachite, David's friend, was come to Absalom, he said to him: God save thee, O king, God save thee, O king.
To whom Absolon seide, This is thi grace to thi freend; whi yedist thou not with thi freend? And Absalom said to him: Is this thy kindness to thy friend? Why wentest thou not with thy friend?
And Chusi answeride to Absolon, Nay, for Y shal be seruaunt of hym, whom the Lord hath chose, and al this puple, and al Israel; and Y schal dwelle with him. And Chusai answered Absalom: Nay: for I will be his, whom the Lord hath chosen, and all this people, and all Israel, and with him will I abide.
But that Y seie also this, to whom schal Y serue? whethir not to the sone of the kyng? as Y obeiede to thi fadir, so Y schal obeie to thee. Besides this, whom shall I serve? is it not the king's son? as I have served thy father, so will I serve thee also.
Forsothe Absolon seide to Achitofel, Take ye counsel, what we owen to do. And Absalom said to Achitophel: Consult what we are to do.
And Achytofel seide to Absolon, Entre thou to the concubyns of thi fadir, whiche he lefte to kepe the hows; that whanne al Israel herith, that thou hast defoulid thi fadir, the hondis of hem be strengthid with thee. And Achitophel said to Absalom: Go in to the concubines of thy father, whom he hath left to keep the house: that when all Israel shall hear that thou hast disgraced thy father, their hands may be strengthened with thee.
Tetenderunt ergo Absalom tabernaculum in solario, ingressusque est ad concubinas patris sui coram universo Israël. Therfor thei tildeden Absolon a tabernacle in the soler, and he entride to the concubyns of his fadir bifor al Israel. So they spread a tent for Absalom on the top of the house, and he went in to his father's concubines before all Israel.
Sotheli the counsel of Achitofel, which he yaf in tho daies, was as if a man counselide God; so was al the counsel of Achitofel, bothe whanne he was with Dauid, and whanne he was with Absolon. Now the counsel of Achitophel, which he gave in those days, was as if a man should consult God: so was all the counsel of Achitophel, both when he was with David, and when he was with Absalom.
