2 ¹⁸ 'To the angel of the church at Thyatira write:

'"These are the words of the Son of God, whose eyes flame like fire and whose feet gleam like burnished brass:

2 ¹⁹ I know all your ways, your love and faithfulness, your good service and your fortitude; and of late you have done even better than at first. 2 ²⁰ Yet I have this against you: you tolerate that Jezebel, the woman who claims to be a prophetess, who by her teaching lures my servants into fornication and into eating food sacrificed to idols. 2 ²¹ I have given her time to repent, but she refuses to repent of her fornication. 2 ²² So I will throw her on to a bed of pain, One witness reads: into a furnace. and plunge her lovers into terrible suffering, unless they forswear what she is doing; 2 ²³ and her children I will strike dead. This will teach all the churches that I am the searcher of men's hearts and thoughts, and that I will reward each one of you according to his deeds. 2 ²⁴ And now I speak to you others in Thyatira, who do not accept this teaching and have had no experience of what they like to call the deep secrets of Satan; on you I will impose no further burden. 2 ²⁵ Only hold fast to what you have, until I come. 2 ^{26 [ Ps.2.8-9, PsSol.17.23. ]} To him who is victorious, to him who perseveres in doing my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations— 2 ²⁷ that same authority which I received from my Father—and he shall rule them with an iron rod, smashing them to bits like earthenware; 2 ²⁸ and I will give him also the star of dawn. 2 ²⁹ Hear, you who have ears to hear, what the Spirit says to the churches!"
