9 23 Thus it was necessary for the copies of the heavenly things to be purified with these rites, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. 9 24 For Christ has entered, not into a sanctuary made with hands, a copy of the true one, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf. 9 25 Nor was it to offer himself repeatedly, as the high priest enters the Holy Place yearly with blood not his own; 9 26 for then he would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world. But as it is, he has appeared once for all at the end of the age to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. 9 27 And just as it is appointed for men to die once, and after that comes judgment, 9 28 so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.
10 1 For since the law has but a shadow of the good things to come instead of the true form of these realities, it can never, by the same sacrifices which are continually offered year after year, make perfect those who draw near. 10 2 Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered? If the worshipers had once been cleansed, they would no longer have any consciousness of sin. 10 3 But in these sacrifices there is a reminder of sin year after year. 10 4 For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins.
10 5 [ Ps.40.6-8. ] Consequently, when Christ came into the world, he said,
10 11 And every priest stands daily at his service, offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 10 12 [ Ps.110.1. ] But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, 10 13 [ Ps.110.1. ] then to wait until his enemies should be made a stool for his feet. 10 14 For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are sanctified. 10 15 And the Holy Spirit also bears witness to us; for after saying,
