2 1 IF THEN our common life in Christ yields anything to stir the heart, any loving consolation, any sharing of the Spirit, any warmth of affection or compassion, 2 2 fill up my cup of happiness by thinking and feeling alike, with the same love for one another, the same turn of mind, and a common care for unity. 2 3 There must be no room for rivalry and personal vanity among you, but you must humbly reckon others better than yourselves. 2 4 Look to each other's interest and not merely to your own. 2 5 Let your bearing towards one another arise out of your life in Christ Jesus. Or: Have that bearing towards one another which was also found in Christ Jesus. 2 6 For the divine nature was his from the first; yet he did not think to snatch at equality with God, Or: yet he did not prize his equality with God. 2 7 but made himself nothing, assuming the nature of a slave. Bearing the human likeness, 2 8 revealed in human shape, he humbled himself, and in obedience accepted even death— death on a cross. 2 9 Therefore God raised him to the heights and bestowed on him the name above all names, 2 10 [ Is.45.23. ] that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow— in heaven, on earth, and in the depths— 2 11 and every tongue confess, 'Jesus Christ is Lord', to the glory of God the Father.
