22 1 NOW THE FESTIVAL of Unleavened Bread, known as Passover, was approaching, 22 2 and the chief priests and the doctors of the law were trying to devise some means of doing away with him; for they were afraid of the people.

22 3 Then Satan entered into Judas Iscariot, who was one of the Twelve; 22 4 and Judas went to the chief priests and officers of the temple police to discuss ways and means of putting Jesus into their power. 22 5 They were greatly pleased and undertook to pay him a sum of money. 22 6 He agreed, and began to look out for an opportunity to betray him to them without collecting a crowd.
