16 14 The Pharisees, who loved money, heard all this and scoffed at him. 16 15 He said to them, 'You are the people is who impress your fellow-men with your righteousness; but God sees through you; for what sets itself up to be admired by men is detestable in the sight of God.

16 16 'Until John, it was the Law and the prophets: since then, there is the good news of the kingdom of God, and everyone forces his way in.
16 17 'It is easier for heaven and earth to come to an end than for one dot or stroke of the Law to lose its force.

16 18 'A man who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery; and anyone who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery.
