katapi HOME Mark 1:29-34 - Jesus heals many people  Mk.1.29-34 (Capernaum)- Mt.8.14-17, Lk.4.38-41 | NEB Contents | notes

1 29 On leaving the synagogue they went straight to the house of Simon and Andrew; and James and John went with them. 1 30 Simon's mother-in-law was ill in bed with fever. 1 31 They told him about her at once. He came forward, took her by the hand, and helped her to her feet. The fever left her and she waited upon them.

1 32 That evening after sunset they brought to him all who were ill or possessed by devils; 1 33 and the whole town was there, gathered at the door. 1 34 He healed many who suffered from various diseases, and drove out many devils. He would not let the devils speak, because they knew who he was.
