26 1 WHEN JESUS HAD FINISHED this discourse he said to his disciples, 26 2 'You know that in two days' time it will be Passover, and the Son of Man is to be handed over for crucifixion.'

26 3 Then the chief priests and the elders of the nation met in the palace of the High Priest, Caiaphas; 26 4 and there they conferred together on a scheme to have Jesus arrested by some trick and put to death. 26 5 'It must not be during the festival,' they said, 'or there may be rioting among the people.'
