katapi HOME Psalms 3:0-8 - Morning Prayer.  Psalm 3

3 0 A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son.

3 1 O Yahweh, how many are my foes!
Many are rising against me;
3 2 many are saying of me,
there is no help for him in God. Selah

3 3 But you, O Yahweh, are a shield about me,
my glory, and the lifter of my head.

3 4 I cry aloud to Yahweh,
and he answers me from his holy hill. Selah

3 5 I lie down and sleep; I wake again,
for Yahweh sustains me.
3 6 I am not afraid of ten thousands of people
who have set themselves against me round about.

3 7 Arise, O Yahweh! Deliver me, O my God!
For you smite all my enemies on the cheek,
you break the teeth of the wicked.

3 8 Deliverance belongs to Yahweh;
may your blessing be upon your people!
