25 ¹² This is the table of the descendants of Abraham's son Ishmael, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's slave-girl, bore to him. 25 ¹³ vv13-16 . cp 1Chr. 1.29-31 These are the names of the sons of Ishmael named in order of their birth: Nebaioth, Ishmael's eldest son, then Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam, 25 ¹⁴ Mishma, Dumah, Massa, 25 ¹⁵ Hadad, Teman, Jetur, Naphish and Kedemah. 25 ¹⁶ These are the sons of Ishmael, after whom their hamlets and encampments were named, twelve princes according to their tribal groups. 25 ¹⁷ Ishmael had lived for a hundred and thirty-seven years when he breathed his last. So he died and was gathered to his father's kin. 25 ¹⁸ Ishmael's sons inhabited the land from Havilah to Shur, which is east of Egypt on the way to Asshur, having settled to the east of his brothers.
