Moses blesses the people of Israel.  Dt.33.1-29

1THIS THE BLESSING that Moses the man of God pronounced upon the Israelites before his death:

12Of Benjamin he said:

13Of Joseph he said: 18Of Zebulun he said:
    Rejoice, Zebulun, when you sally forth,
    rejoice in your tents, Issachar.
    19They shall summon nations to the mountain,
    there they will offer true sacrifices,
    for they shall suck the abundance of the seas
    and draw out draw out: prob. rdg, Heb obscure the hidden wealth of the sand.
20Of Gad he said:
    Blessed be Gad, in his wide domain;
    he couches like a lion
    tearing an arm or a scalp.
    21He chose the best for himself,
    for to him was allotted a ruler's portion,
    when the chiefs of the people were assembled together.
    He did what the LORD deemed right,
    observing his ordinances for Israel.

22Of Dan he said:

    Dan is a lion's cub
    springing out from Bashan.

23Of Naphtali he said:

    Naphtali is richly favoured
    and full of the blessings of the LORD;
    his patrimony stretches to the sea and southward.
24Of Asher he said:
    Asher is most blest of sons,
    may he be the favourite among Or of his brothers
    and bathe his feet in oil.
    25May your bolts be of iron and bronze,
    and your strength last as long as you live.

    26There is none like the God of Jeshurun
    who rides the heavens to your help,
    riding the clouds in his glory,
    27who humbled the gods of old
    and subdued prob. rdg, Heb under the ancient powers;
    who drove out the enemy before you
    and gave the word to destroy.
    28Israel lives in security,
    the tribes of Jacob by themselves,
    in a land of corn and wine Or new wine
    where the skies drip with dew.
    29Happy are you, people of Israel, peerless, set free;
    the LORD is the shield that guards you,
    the Blessed One is your glorious sword.
    Your enemies come cringing to you,
    and you shall trample their bodies under foot.
