Revised Standard Version Passage New Testament in Greek (UBS.Ed.26)

The same day Sad'ducees came to him, who say that there is no resurrection; and they asked him a question,The Question about the Resurrection Mt.22.23-33 (Jerusalem) | Mk.12.18-27 | Lk.20.27-40Ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ προσῆλθον αὐτῷ Σαδδουκαῖοι, λέγοντες μὴ εἶναι ἀνάστασιν, καὶ ἐπηρώτησαν αὐτὸν
saying, "Teacher, Moses said, 'If a man dies, having no children, his brother must marry the widow, and raise up children for his brother.'- 'If a man dies, having no children Mt.22.24 | Dt.25.5λέγοντες, Διδάσκαλε, Μωϋσῆς εἶπεν, Ἐάν τις ἀποθάνῃ μὴ ἔχων τέκνα, ἐπιγαμβρεύσει ὁ ἀδελφὸς αὐτοῦ τὴν γυναῖκα αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀναστήσει σπέρμα τῷ ἀδελφῷ αὐτοῦ.
Now there were seven brothers among us; the first married, and died, and having no children left his wife to his brother.
So too the second and third, down to the seventh.
After them all, the woman died.
In the resurrection, therefore, to which of the seven will she be wife? For they all had her."
But Jesus answered them, "You are wrong, because you know neither the scriptures nor the power of God.
For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels Other ancient authorities add: of God in heaven.
And as for the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was said to you by God,
'I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'? He is not God of the dead, but of the living."- 'I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Jacob Mt.22.32 | Ex.3.6 | Ex.3.15Ἐγώ εἰμι ὁ θεὸς ἀβραὰμ καὶ ὁ θεὸς ἰσαὰκ καὶ ὁ θεὸς ἰακώβ; οὐκ ἐστιν θεὸς νεκρῶν ἀλλὰ ζώντων.
And when the crowd heard it, they were astonished at his teaching.
