22 While Israel dwelt in that land Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father's concubine; and Israel heard of it.

Now the sons of Jacob were twelve.

JACOB's sons. Gn.35.22-26 | 1Chr.2.1-2וַיְהִי בִּשְׁכֹּן יִשְׂרָאֵל בָּאָרֶץ הַהִוא וַיֵּלֶךְ רְאוּבֵן וַיִּשְׁכַּב אֶת־בִּלְהָה פִּילֶגֶשׁ אָבִיו וַיִּשְׁמַע יִשְׂרָאֵל ף וַיִּהְיוּ בְנֵי־יַעֲקֹב שְׁנֵים עָשָׂר׃
23 The sons of Leah: Reuben (Jacob's first-born), Simeon, Levi, Judah, Is'sachar, and Zeb'ulun. בְּנֵי לֵאָה בְּכֹור יַעֲקֹב רְאוּבֵן וְשִׁמְעֹון וְלֵוִי וִיהוּדָה וְיִשָּׂשכָר וּזְבוּלֻן׃
24 The sons of Rachel: Joseph and Benjamin. בְּנֵי רָחֵל יֹוסֵף וּבִנְיָמִן׃
25 The sons of Bilhah, Rachel's maid: Dan and Naph'tali. וּבְנֵי בִלְהָה שִׁפְחַת רָחֵל דָּן וְנַפְתָּלִי׃
26 The sons of Zilpah, Leah's maid: Gad and Asher. These were the sons of Jacob who were born to him in Paddan-aram. וּבְנֵי זִלְפָּה שִׁפְחַת לֵאָה גָּד וְאָשֵׁר אֵלֶּה בְּנֵי יַעֲקֹב אֲשֶׁר יֻלַּד־לֹו בְּפַדַּן אֲרָם׃
