21THEN THEY TOOK HIM OUT to crucify him. A man called Simon, from Cyrene, the father of Alexander and Rufus, was passing by on his way in from the country, and they pressed him into service to carry his cross.

22They brought him to the place called Golgotha, which means 'Place of a skull'.  καὶ φέρουσιν αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τὸν Γολγοθᾶν τόπον, ὁ ἐστιν μεθερμηνευόμενον Κρανίου Τόπος.
23He was offered drugged wine, but he would not take it.  καὶ ἐδίδουν αὐτῷ ἐσμυρνισμένον οἶνον, ὃς δὲ οὐκ ἐλαβεν.
24Then they fastened him to the cross. They divided his clothes among them, casting lots to decide what each should have. - divided his garments among them .  Mk.15.24 | Ps.22.18καὶ σταυροῦσιν αὐτὸν

καὶ διαμερίζονται τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦ,
βάλλοντες κλῆρον ἐπ' αὐτὰ
τίς τί ἄρῃ.

25The hour of the crucifixion was nine in the morning,  ἦν δὲ ὡρα τρίτη καὶ ἐσταύρωσαν αὐτόν.
26and the inscription giving the charge against him read, 'The king of the Jews.'  καὶ ἦν ἡ ἐπιγραφὴ τῆς αἰτίας αὐτοῦ ἐπιγεγραμμένη,

Ο ΒΑΣΙΛΕΥΣ ΤΩΝ ΙΟΥΔΑΙΩΝ.

27Two bandits were crucified with him, one on his right and the other on his left." Some witnesses add: Thus that text of Scripture came true which says, 'He was reckoned among the criminals.' Καὶ σὺν αὐτῷ σταυροῦσιν δύο λῃστάς, ἑνα ἐκ δεξιῶν καὶ ἑνα ἐξ εὐωνύμων αὐτοῦ.
28Some manuscripts add (v.28): Thus that text of Scripture came true which says, 'He was reckoned among criminals.'
 καὶ ἐπληρώθη ἡ γραφὴ ἡ λέγουσα, καὶ μετὰ ἀνόμων ἐλογίσθη.
29The passers-by hurled abuse at him: 'Aha!' they cried, wagging their heads, 'you would pull the temple down, would you, and build it in three days?- You who would destroy the temple and build it in three days Mk.15.29 | Ps.22.7Καὶ οἱ παραπορευόμενοι ἐβλασφήμουν αὐτὸν κινοῦντες τὰς κεφαλὰς αὐτῶν καὶ λέγοντες, Οὐὰ ὁ καταλύων τὸν ναὸν καὶ οἰκοδομῶν ἐν τρισὶν ἡμέραις,
30Come down from the cross and save yourself!'  σῶσον σεαυτὸν καταβὰς ἀπὸ τοῦ σταυροῦ.
31So too the chief priests and the doctors of the law jested with one another: 'He saved others,' they said, 'but he cannot save himself.  ὁμοίως καὶ οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς ἐμπαίζοντες πρὸς ἀλλήλους μετὰ τῶν γραμματέων ἐλεγον, Ἄλλους ἐσωσεν, ἑαυτὸν οὐ δύναται σῶσαι·
32Let the Messiah, the king of Israel, come down now from the cross. If we see that, we shall believe.' Even those who were crucified with him taunted him.
 ὁ Χριστὸς ὁ βασιλεὺς Ἰσραὴλ καταβάτω νῦν ἀπὸ τοῦ σταυροῦ, ἵνα ἰδωμεν καὶ πιστεύσωμεν. καὶ οἱ συνεσταυρωμένοι σὺν αὐτῷ ὠνείδιζον αὐτόν.
