34 New English Bible (New Testament) Passage Biblia Hebraica

34 1I will bless the LORD continually;
his praise shall be always on my lips.
2In the LORD I will glory;
the humble shall hear and be glad.
3O glorify the LORD with me,
and let us exalt his name together.
4I sought the LORD's help and he answered me;
he set me free from all my terrors.
5Look towards him and shine with joy;
no longer hang your heads in shame.
6Here was a poor wretch who cried to the LORD;
he heard him and saved him from all his troubles.
7The angel of the LORD is on guard
round those who fear him, and rescues them.
8Taste, then, and see that the LORD is good.
Happy the man who finds refuge in him!
9Fear the LORD, all you his holy people;
for those who fear him lack nothing.
10Unbelievers suffer want and go hungry,
but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.
11Come, my children, listen to me:
I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
12Which of you delights in life
and desires a long life to enjoy all good things?
13Then keep your tongue from evil
and your lips from uttering lies;
14turn from evil and do good,
seek peace and pursue it.
15The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous,
and his ears are open to their cries.
16The LORD sets his face against evildoers
to blot out their memory from the earth.
17When men cry for help, the LORD hears them
and sets them free from all their troubles.
18The LORD is close to those whose courage is broken
and he saves those whose spirit is crushed.
19The good man's misfortunes may be many,
the LORD delivers him out of them all.
20He guards every bone of his body,
and not one of them is broken.
21Their own misdeeds are death to the wicked,
and those who hate the righteous are brought to ruin.

22The LORD ransoms the lives of his servants,
and none who seek refuge in him are brought to ruin.
