10 1These are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth; sons were born to them after the flood.Generation - Noah. Gn.10.1-32 | 1Chr.1.5-23וְאֵלֶּה תֹּולְדֹת בְּנֵי־נֹחַ שֵׁם חָם וָיָפֶת וַיִּוָּלְדוּ לָהֶם בָּנִים אַחַר הַמַּבּוּל׃
2The sons of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras. בְּנֵי יֶפֶת גֹּמֶר וּמָגֹוג וּמָדַי וְיָוָן וְתֻבָל וּמֶשֶׁךְ וְתִירָס׃
3The sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah. וּבְנֵי גֹּמֶר אַשְׁכֲּנַז וְרִיפַת וְתֹגַרְמָה׃
4The sons of Javan: Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim. וּבְנֵי יָוָן אֱלִישָׁה וְתַרְשִׁישׁ כִּתִּים וְדֹדָנִים׃
5From these the coastland peoples spread. These are the sons of Japheth in their lands, each with his own language, by their families, in their nations. מֵאֵלֶּה נִפְרְדוּ אִיֵּי הַגֹּויִם בְּאַרְצֹתָם אִישׁ לִלְשֹׁנֹו לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם בְּגֹויֵהֶם׃
6The sons of Ham: Cush, Egypt, Put, and Canaan. וּבְנֵי חָם כּוּשׁ וּמִצְרַיִם וּפוּט וּכְנָעַן׃
7The sons of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteca. The sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan. וּבְנֵי כוּשׁ סְבָא וַחֲוִילָה וְסַבְתָּה וְרַעְמָה וְסַבְתְּכָא וּבְנֵי רַעְמָה שְׁבָא וּדְדָן׃
8Cush became the father of Nimrod; he was the first on earth to be a mighty man. וְכוּשׁ יָלַד אֶת־נִמְרֹד הוּא הֵחֵל לִהְיֹות גִּבֹּר בָּאָרֶץ׃
9He was a mighty hunter before Yahweh; therefore it is said, "Like Nimrod a mighty hunter before Yahweh." הוּא־הָיָה גִבֹּר־צַיִד לִפְנֵי יְהוָה עַל־כֵּן יֵאָמַר כְּנִמְרֹד גִּבֹּור צַיִד לִפְנֵי יְהוָה׃
10The beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, and Accad, all of them in the land of Shinar. וַתְּהִי רֵאשִׁית מַמְלַכְתֹּו בָּבֶל וְאֶרֶךְ וְאַכַּד וְכַלְנֵה בְּאֶרֶץ שִׁנְעָר׃
11From that land he went into Assyria, and built Nineveh, Rehoboth-ir, Calah, and מִן־הָאָרֶץ הַהִוא יָצָא אַשּׁוּר וַיִּבֶן אֶת־נִינְוֵה וְאֶת־רְחֹבֹת עִיר וְאֶת־כָּלַח׃
12Resen between Nineveh and Calah; that is the great city. וְאֶת־רֶסֶן בֵּין נִינְוֵה וּבֵין כָּלַח הִוא הָעִיר הַגְּדֹלָה׃
13Egypt became the father of Ludim, Anamim, Lehabim, Naphtuhim, וּמִצְרַיִם יָלַד אֶת־לוּדִים וְאֶת־עֲנָמִים וְאֶת־לְהָבִים וְאֶת־נַפְתֻּחִים׃
14Pathrusim, Casluhim (whence came the Philistines), and Caphtorim. וְאֶת־פַּתְרֻסִים וְאֶת־כַּסְלֻחִים אֲשֶׁר יָצְאוּ מִשָּׁם פְּלִשְׁתִּים וְאֶת־כַּפְתֹּרִים׃ ס
15Canaan became the father of Sidon his first-born, and Heth, וּכְנַעַן יָלַד אֶת־צִידֹן בְּכֹרֹו וְאֶת־חֵת׃
16and the Jebusites, the Amorites, the Girgashites, וְאֶת־הַיְבוּסִי וְאֶת־הָאֱמֹרִי וְאֵת הַגִּרְגָּשִׁי׃
17the Hivites, the Arkites, the Sinites, וְאֶת־הַחִוִּי וְאֶת־הַעַרְקִי וְאֶת־הַסִּינִי׃
18the Arvadites, the Zemarites, and the Hamathites. Afterward the families of the Canaanites spread abroad. וְאֶת־הָאַרְוָדִי וְאֶת־הַצְּמָרִי וְאֶת־הַחֲמָתִי וְאַחַר נָפֹצוּ מִשְׁפְּחֹות הַכְּנַעֲנִי׃
19And the territory of the Canaanites extended from Sidon, in the direction of Gerar, as far as Gaza, and in the direction of Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, as far as Lasha. וַיְהִי גְּבוּל הַכְּנַעֲנִי מִצִּידֹן בֹּאֲכָה גְרָרָה עַד־עַזָּה בֹּאֲכָה סְדֹמָה וַעֲמֹרָה וְאַדְמָה וּצְבֹיִם עַד־לָשַׁע׃
20These are the sons of Ham, by their families, their languages, their lands, and their nations. אֵלֶּה בְנֵי־חָם לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם לִלְשֹׁנֹתָם בְּאַרְצֹתָם בְּגֹויֵהֶם׃ ס
21To Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the elder brother of Japheth, children were born. וּלְשֵׁם יֻלַּד גַּם־הוּא אֲבִי כָּל־בְּנֵי־עֵבֶר אֲחִי יֶפֶת הַגָּדֹול׃
22The sons of Shem: Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, and Aram. בְּנֵי שֵׁם עֵילָם וְאַשּׁוּר וְאַרְפַּכְשַׁד וְלוּד וַאֲרָם׃
23The sons of Aram: Uz, Hul, Gether, and Mash. וּבְנֵי אֲרָם עוּץ וְחוּל וְגֶתֶר וָמַשׁ׃
24Arpachshad became the father of Shelah; and Shelah became the father of Eber. וְאַרְפַּכְשַׁד יָלַד אֶת־שָׁלַח וְשֶׁלַח יָלַד אֶת־עֵבֶר׃
25To Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided, and his brother's name was Joktan. וּלְעֵבֶר יֻלַּד שְׁנֵי בָנִים שֵׁם הָאֶחָד פֶּלֶג כִּי בְיָמָיו נִפְלְגָה הָאָרֶץ וְשֵׁם אָחִיו יָקְטָן׃
26Joktan became the father of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah, וְיָקְטָן יָלַד אֶת־אַלְמֹודָד וְאֶת־שָׁלֶף וְאֶת־חֲצַרְמָוֶת וְאֶת־יָרַח׃
27Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah, וְאֶת־הֲדֹורָם וְאֶת־אוּזָל וְאֶת־דִּקְלָה׃
28Obal, Abimael, Sheba, וְאֶת־עֹובָל וְאֶת־אֲבִימָאֵל וְאֶת־שְׁבָא׃
29Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab; all these were the sons of Joktan. וְאֶת־אֹופִר וְאֶת־חֲוִילָה וְאֶת־יֹובָב כָּל־אֵלֶּה בְּנֵי יָקְטָן׃
30The territory in which they lived extended from Mesha in the direction of Sephar to the hill country of the east. וַיְהִי מֹושָׁבָם מִמֵּשָׁא בֹּאֲכָה סְפָרָה הַר הַקֶּדֶם׃
31These are the sons of Shem, by their families, their languages, their lands, and their nations. אֵלֶּה בְנֵי־שֵׁם לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם לִלְשֹׁנֹתָם בְּאַרְצֹתָם לְגֹויֵהֶם׃
32These are the families of the sons of Noah, according to their genealogies, in their nations; and from these the nations spread abroad on the earth after the flood. אֵלֶּה מִשְׁפְּחֹת בְּנֵי־נֹחַ לְתֹולְדֹתָם בְּגֹויֵהֶם וּמֵאֵלֶּה נִפְרְדוּ הַגֹּויִם בָּאָרֶץ אַחַר הַמַּבּוּל׃ ף

The katapi NEW STUDY BIBLE is a very light revision of the RSV. The changes are: (1) In places where 'the LORD', 'O LORD' occurs in the RSV, (it represents the tetragrammaton - YHWH - which is in the hebrew text), I have used the name 'Yahweh'.
(2) I have removed the quotation marks and hyphens that were used in so many names in the RSV as an aid to correct pronunciation. This now brings it in line with all other English versions, and makes any word-search more accurate.
(3) I have changed all (I hope!) of the RSV archaic language sections to modern.

Quotations of OT passages by NT authors can in most cases be viewed within their context of the OT passage as a whole, with the quoted text displayed, against a subdued background.
