| 2 1 | Hannah also prayed and said, "My heart exults in Yahweh; | Hannah's song of praise. 1Sm.2.1-10 | וַתִּתְפַּלֵּל חַנָּה וַתֹּאמַר עָלַץ לִבִּי בַּיהוָה רָמָה קַרְנִי בַּיהוָה רָחַב פִּי עַל־אֹויְבַי כִּי שָׂמַחְתִּי בִּישׁוּעָתֶךָ׃ |
| 2 | "There is none holy like Yahweh, there is none besides you; there is no rock like our God. | אֵין־קָדֹושׁ כַּיהוָה כִּי אֵין בִּלְתֶּךָ וְאֵין צוּר כֵּאלֹהֵינוּ׃ | |
| 3 | Talk no more so very proudly, let not arrogance come from your mouth; for Yahweh is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed. | אַל־תַּרְבּוּ תְדַבְּרוּ גְּבֹהָה גְבֹהָה יֵצֵא עָתָק מִפִּיכֶם כִּי אֵל דֵּעֹות יְהוָה כ= וְלֹא ק= וְלֹו נִתְכְּנוּ עֲלִלֹות׃ | |

| 5 | Those who were full have hired themselves out for bread, but those who were hungry have ceased to hunger. The barren has borne seven, but she who has many children is forlorn. | שְׂבֵעִים בַּלֶּחֶם נִשְׂכָּרוּ וּרְעֵבִים חָדֵלּוּ עַד־עֲקָרָה יָלְדָה שִׁבְעָה וְרַבַּת בָּנִים אֻמְלָלָה׃ | |
| 6 | Yahweh kills and brings to life; he brings down to Sheol and raises up. | יְהוָה מֵמִית וּמְחַיֶּה מֹורִיד שְׁאֹול וַיָּעַל׃ | |
| 7 | Yahweh makes poor and makes rich; he brings low, he also exalts. | יְהוָה מֹורִישׁ וּמַעֲשִׁיר מַשְׁפִּיל אַף־מְרֹוםֵם׃ | |
| 8 | He raises up the poor from the dust; he lifts the needy from the ash heap, to make them sit with princes and inherit a seat of honour. For the pillars of the earth are YahwehS, and on them he has set the world. | מֵקִים מֵעָפָר דָּל מֵאַשְׁפֹּת יָרִים אֶבְיֹון לְהֹושִׁיב עִם־נְדִיבִים וְכִסֵּא כָבֹוד יַנְחִלֵם כִּי לַיהוָה מְצֻקֵי אֶרֶץ וַיָּשֶׁת עֲלֵיהֶם תֵּבֵל׃ | |
| 9 | "He will guard the feet of his faithful ones; but the wicked shall be cut off in darkness; for not by might shall a man prevail. | רַגְלֵי כ= חֲסִידֹו ק= חֲסִידָיו יִשְׁמֹר וּרְשָׁעִים בַּחֹשֶׁךְ יִדָּמּוּ כִּי־לֹא בְכֹחַ יִגְבַּר־אִישׁ׃ | |
| 10 | The adversaries of Yahweh shall be broken to pieces; against them he will thunder in heaven. Yahweh will judge the ends of the earth; he will give strength to his king, and exalt the power of his anointed." | יְהוָה יֵחַתּוּ כ= מְרִיבֹו ק= מְרִיבָיו כ= עָלֹו ק= עָלָיו בַּשָּׁמַיִם יַרְעֵם יְהוָה יָדִין אַפְסֵי־אָרֶץ וְיִתֶּן־עֹז לְמַלְכֹּו וְיָרֵם קֶרֶן מְשִׁיחֹו׃ ף | |
