25	Yahweh said to Moses,	Division of the booty. Nu.31.25-54	וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר׃
26	"Take the count of the booty that was taken, both of man and of beast, you and Eleazar the priest and the heads of the fathers' houses of the congregation;		שָׂא אֵת רֹאשׁ מַלְקֹוחַ הַשְּׁבִי בָּאָדָם וּבַבְּהֵמָה אַתָּה וְאֶלְעָזָר הַכֹּהֵן וְרָאשֵׁי אֲבֹות הָעֵדָה׃
27	and divide the booty into two parts, between the warriors who went out to battle and all the congregation.		וְחָצִיתָ אֶת־הַמַּלְקֹוחַ בֵּין תֹּפְשֵׂי הַמִּלְחָמָה הַיֹּצְאִים לַצָּבָא וּבֵין כָּל־הָעֵדָה׃
28	And levy for Yahweh a tribute from the men of war who went out to battle, one out of five hundred, of the persons and of the oxen and of the asses and of the flocks;		וַהֲרֵמֹתָ מֶכֶס לַיהוָה מֵאֵת אַנְשֵׁי הַמִּלְחָמָה הַיֹּצְאִים לַצָּבָא אֶחָד נֶפֶשׁ מֵחֲמֵשׁ הַמֵּאֹות מִן־הָאָדָם וּמִן־הַבָּקָר וּמִן־הַחֲמֹרִים וּמִן־הַצֹּאן׃
29	take it from their half, and give it to Eleazar the priest as an offering to Yahweh.		מִמַּחֲצִיתָם תִּקָּחוּ וְנָתַתָּה לְאֶלְעָזָר הַכֹּהֵן תְּרוּמַת יְהוָה׃
30	And from the people of Israel's half you shall take one drawn out of every fifty, of the persons, of the oxen, of the asses, and of the flocks, of all the cattle, and give them to the Levites who have charge of the tabernacle of Yahweh."		וּמִמַּחֲצִת בְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל תִּקַּח אֶחָד אָחֻז מִן־הַחֲמִשִּׁים מִן־הָאָדָם מִן־הַבָּקָר מִן־הַחֲמֹרִים וּמִן־הַצֹּאן מִכָּל־הַבְּהֵמָה וְנָתַתָּה אֹתָם לַלְוִיִּם שֹׁמְרֵי מִשְׁמֶרֶת מִשְׁכַּן יְהוָה׃
31	And Moses and Eleazar the priest did as Yahweh commanded Moses.		וַיַּעַשׂ מֹשֶׁה וְאֶלְעָזָר הַכֹּהֵן כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוָה אֶת־מֹשֶׁה׃
32	Now the booty remaining of the spoil that the men of war took was: six hundred and seventy-five thousand sheep,		וַיְהִי הַמַּלְקֹוחַ יֶתֶר הַבָּז אֲשֶׁר בָּזְזוּ עַם הַצָּבָא צֹאן שֵׁשׁ־מֵאֹות אֶלֶף וְשִׁבְעִים אֶלֶף וַחֲמֵשֶׁת־אֲלָפִים׃
33	seventy-two thousand cattle,		וּבָקָר שְׁנַיִם וְשִׁבְעִים אָלֶף׃
34	sixty-one thousand asses,		וַחֲמֹרִים אֶחָד וְשִׁשִּׁים אָלֶף׃
35	and thirty-two thousand persons in all, women who had not known man by lying with him.		וְנֶפֶשׁ אָדָם מִן־הַנָּשִׁים אֲשֶׁר לֹא־יָדְעוּ מִשְׁכַּב זָכָר כָּל־נֶפֶשׁ שְׁנַיִם וּשְׁלֹשִׁים אָלֶף׃
36	And the half, the portion of those who had gone out to war, was in number three hundred and thirty-seven thousand five hundred sheep,		וַתְּהִי הַמֶּחֱצָה חֵלֶק הַיֹּצְאִים בַּצָּבָא מִסְפַּר הַצֹּאן שְׁלֹשׁ־מֵאֹות אֶלֶף וּשְׁלֹשִׁים אֶלֶף וְשִׁבְעַת אֲלָפִים וַחֲמֵשׁ מֵאֹות׃
37	and Yahweh's tribute of sheep was six hundred and seventy-five.		וַיְהִי הַמֶּכֶס לַיהוָה מִן־הַצֹּאן שֵׁשׁ מֵאֹות חָמֵשׁ וְשִׁבְעִים׃
38	The cattle were thirty-six thousand, of which Yahweh's tribute was seventy-two.		וְהַבָּקָר שִׁשָּׁה וּשְׁלֹשִׁים אָלֶף וּמִכְסָם לַיהוָה שְׁנַיִם וְשִׁבְעִים׃
39	The asses were thirty thousand five hundred, of which Yahweh's tribute was sixty-one.		וַחֲמֹרִים שְׁלֹשִׁים אֶלֶף וַחֲמֵשׁ מֵאֹות וּמִכְסָם לַיהוָה אֶחָד וְשִׁשִּׁים׃
40	The persons were sixteen thousand, of which Yahweh's tribute was thirty-two persons.		וְנֶפֶשׁ אָדָם שִׁשָּׁה עָשָׂר אָלֶף וּמִכְסָם לַיהוָה שְׁנַיִם וּשְׁלֹשִׁים נָפֶשׁ׃
41	And Moses gave the tribute, which was the offering for Yahweh, to Eleazar the priest, as Yahweh commanded Moses.		וַיִּתֵּן מֹשֶׁה אֶת־מֶכֶס תְּרוּמַת יְהוָה לְאֶלְעָזָר הַכֹּהֵן כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוָה אֶת־מֹשֶׁה׃
42	From the people of Israel's half, which Moses separated from that of the men who had gone to war -		וּמִמַּחֲצִית בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֲשֶׁר חָצָה מֹשֶׁה מִן־הָאֲנָשִׁים הַצֹּבְאִים׃
43	now the congregation's half was three hundred and thirty-seven thousand five hundred sheep,		וַתְּהִי מֶחֱצַת הָעֵדָה מִן־הַצֹּאן שְׁלֹשׁ־מֵאֹות אֶלֶף וּשְׁלֹשִׁים אֶלֶף שִׁבְעַת אֲלָפִים וַחֲמֵשׁ מֵאֹות׃
44	thirty-six thousand cattle,		וּבָקָר שִׁשָּׁה וּשְׁלֹשִׁים אָלֶף׃
45	and thirty thousand five hundred asses,		וַחֲמֹרִים שְׁלֹשִׁים אֶלֶף וַחֲמֵשׁ מֵאֹות׃
46	and sixteen thousand persons -		וְנֶפֶשׁ אָדָם שִׁשָּׁה עָשָׂר אָלֶף׃
47	from the people of Israel's half Moses took one of every fifty, both of persons and of beasts, and gave them to the Levites who had charge of the tabernacle of Yahweh; as Yahweh commanded Moses.		וַיִּקַּח מֹשֶׁה מִמַּחֲצִת בְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶת־הָאָחֻז אֶחָד מִן־הַחֲמִשִּׁים מִן־הָאָדָם וּמִן־הַבְּהֵמָה וַיִּתֵּן אֹתָם לַלְוִיִּם שֹׁמְרֵי מִשְׁמֶרֶת מִשְׁכַּן יְהוָה כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוָה אֶת־מֹשֶׁה׃
48	Then the officers who were over the thousands of the army, the captains of thousands and the captains of hundreds, came near to Moses,		וַיִּקְרְבוּ אֶל־מֹשֶׁה הַפְּקֻדִים אֲשֶׁר לְאַלְפֵי הַצָּבָא שָׂרֵי הָאֲלָפִים וְשָׂרֵי הַמֵּאֹות׃
49	and said to Moses, "Your servants have counted the men of war who are under our command, and there is not a man missing from us.		וַיֹּאמְרוּ אֶל־מֹשֶׁה עֲבָדֶיךָ נָשְׂאוּ אֶת־רֹאשׁ אַנְשֵׁי הַמִּלְחָמָה אֲשֶׁר בְּיָדֵנוּ וְלֹא־נִפְקַד מִמֶּנּוּ אִישׁ׃
50	And we have brought Yahweh's offering, what each man found, articles of gold, armlets and bracelets, signet rings, earrings, and beads, to make atonement for ourselves before Yahweh."		וַנַּקְרֵב אֶת־קָרְבַּן יְהוָה אִישׁ אֲשֶׁר מָצָא כְלִי־זָהָב אֶצְעָדָה וְצָמִיד טַבַּעַת עָגִיל וְכוּמָז לְכַפֵּר עַל־נַפְשֹׁתֵינוּ לִפְנֵי יְהוָה׃
51	And Moses and Eleazar the priest received from them the gold, all wrought articles.		וַיִּקַּח מֹשֶׁה וְאֶלְעָזָר הַכֹּהֵן אֶת־הַזָּהָב מֵאִתָּם כֹּל כְּלִי מַעֲשֶׂה׃
52	And all the gold of the offering that they offered to Yahweh, from the commanders of thousands and the commanders of hundreds, was sixteen thousand seven hundred and fifty shekels.		וַיְהִי כָּל־זְהַב הַתְּרוּמָה אֲשֶׁר הֵרִימוּ לַיהוָה שִׁשָּׁה עָשָׂר אֶלֶף שְׁבַע־מֵאֹות וַחֲמִשִּׁים שָׁקֶל מֵאֵת שָׂרֵי הָאֲלָפִים וּמֵאֵת שָׂרֵי הַמֵּאֹות׃
53	(The men of war had taken booty, every man for himself.)		אַנְשֵׁי הַצָּבָא בָּזְזוּ אִישׁ לֹו׃
54	And Moses and Eleazar the priest received the gold from the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, and brought it into the tent of meeting, as a memorial for the people of Israel before Yahweh.		וַיִּקַּח מֹשֶׁה וְאֶלְעָזָר הַכֹּהֵן אֶת־הַזָּהָב מֵאֵת שָׂרֵי הָאֲלָפִים וְהַמֵּאֹות וַיָּבִאוּ אֹתֹו אֶל־אֹהֶל מֹועֵד זִכָּרֹון לִבְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל לִפְנֵי יְהוָה׃ ף

The katapi NEW STUDY BIBLE is a very light revision of the RSV. The changes are: (1) In places where 'the LORD', 'O LORD' occurs in the RSV, (it represents the tetragrammaton - YHWH - which is in the hebrew text), I have used the name 'Yahweh'.
(2) I have removed the quotation marks and hyphens that were used in so many names in the RSV as an aid to correct pronunciation. This now brings it in line with all other English versions, and makes any word-search more accurate.
(3) I have changed all (I hope!) of the RSV archaic language sections to modern.

Quotations of OT passages by NT authors can in most cases be viewed within their context of the OT passage as a whole, with the quoted text displayed, against a subdued background.
