10	Have we not all one father? Has not one God created us? Why then are we faithless to one another, profaning the covenant of our fathers?	The people's unfaithfulness. Mal.2.10-16	הֲלֹוא אָב אֶחָד לְכֻלָּנוּ הֲלֹוא אֵל אֶחָד בְּרָאָנוּ מַדּוּעַ נִבְגַּד אִישׁ בְּאָחִיו לְחַלֵּל בְּרִית אֲבֹתֵינוּ׃
11	Judah has been faithless, and abomination has been committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah has profaned the sanctuary of Yahweh, which he loves, and has married the daughter of a foreign god.		בָּגְדָה יְהוּדָה וְתֹועֵבָה נֶעֶשְׂתָה בְיִשְׂרָאֵל וּבִירוּשָׁלִָם כִּי חִלֵּל יְהוּדָה קֹדֶשׁ יְהוָה אֲשֶׁר אָהֵב וּבָעַל בַּת־אֵל נֵכָר׃
12	May Yahweh cut off from the tents of Jacob, for the man who does this, any to witness or answer, or to bring an offering to Yahweh of hosts!		יַכְרֵת יְהוָה לָאִישׁ אֲשֶׁר יַעֲשֶׂנָּה עֵר וְעֹנֶה מֵאָהֳלֵי יַעֲקֹב וּמַגִּישׁ מִנְחָה לַיהוָה צְבָאֹות׃ ף
13	And this again you do. You cover Yahweh's altar with tears, with weeping and groaning because he no longer regards the offering or accepts it with favour at your hand.		וְזֹאת שֵׁנִית תַּעֲשׂוּ כַּסֹּות דִּמְעָה אֶת־מִזְבַּח יְהוָה בְּכִי וַאֲנָקָה מֵאֵין עֹוד פְּנֹות אֶל־הַמִּנְחָה וְלָקַחַת רָצֹון מִיֶּדְכֶם׃
14	You ask, "Why does he not?" Because Yahweh was witness to the covenant between you and the wife of your youth, to whom you have been faithless, though she is your companion and your wife by covenant.		וַאֲמַרְתֶּם עַל־מָה עַל כִּי־יְהוָה הֵעִיד בֵּינְךָ וּבֵין אֵשֶׁת נְעוּרֶיךָ אֲשֶׁר אַתָּה בָּגַדְתָּה בָּהּ וְהִיא חֲבֶרְתְּךָ וְאֵשֶׁת בְּרִיתֶךָ׃
15	Has not the one God made and sustained for us the spirit of life? And what does he desire? Godly offspring. So take heed to yourselves, and let none be faithless to the wife of his youth.		וְלֹא־אֶחָד עָשָׂה וּשְׁאָר רוּחַ לֹו וּמָה הָאֶחָד מְבַקֵּשׁ זֶרַע אֱלֹהִים וְנִשְׁמַרְתֶּם בְּרוּחֲכֶם וּבְאֵשֶׁת נְעוּרֶיךָ אַל־יִבְגֹּד׃
16	"For I hate divorce, says Yahweh the God of Israel, and covering one's garment with violence, says Yahweh of hosts. So take heed to yourselves and do not be faithless."		כִּי־שָׂנֵא שַׁלַּח אָמַר יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְכִסָּה חָמָס עַל־לְבוּשֹׁו אָמַר יְהוָה צְבָאֹות וְנִשְׁמַרְתֶּם בְּרוּחֲכֶם וְלֹא תִבְגֹּדוּ׃ ס

The katapi NEW STUDY BIBLE is a very light revision of the RSV. The changes are: (1) In places where 'the LORD', 'O LORD' occurs in the RSV, (it represents the tetragrammaton - YHWH - which is in the hebrew text), I have used the name 'Yahweh'.
(2) I have removed the quotation marks and hyphens that were used in so many names in the RSV as an aid to correct pronunciation. This now brings it in line with all other English versions, and makes any word-search more accurate.
(3) I have changed all (I hope!) of the RSV archaic language sections to modern.
The katapi New Study Bible reference section displays links to parallel passages, and to direct quotations by New Testament authors to Old Testament passages. Quotations of OT passages by NT authors can in most cases be viewed within their context of the OT passage as a whole, with the quoted text displayed, against a subdued background.
