| 12 | Are you not from everlasting, O Yahweh my God, my Holy One? We shall not die. O Yahweh, you have ordained them as a judgment; and you, O Rock, have established them for chastisement. | Habakkuk complains to the LORD again. Hab.1.12-17 | הֲלֹוא אַתָּה מִקֶּדֶם יְהוָה אֱלֹהַי קְדֹשִׁי לֹא נָמוּת יְהוָה לְמִשְׁפָּט שַׂמְתֹּו וְצוּר לְהֹוכִיחַ יְסַדְתֹּו׃ |
| 13 | You who are of purer eyes than to behold evil and can not look on wrong, why do you look on faithless men, and are silent when the wicked swallows up the man more righteous than he? | טְהֹור עֵינַיִם מֵרְאֹות רָע וְהַבִּיט אֶל־עָמָל לֹא תוּכָל לָמָּה תַבִּיט בֹּוגְדִים תַּחֲרִישׁ בְּבַלַּע רָשָׁע צַדִּיק מִמֶּנּוּ׃ | |
| 14 | For you make men like the fish of the sea, like crawling things that have no ruler. | וַתַּעֲשֶׂה אָדָם כִּדְגֵי הַיָּם כְּרֶמֶשׂ לֹא־מֹשֵׁל בֹּו׃ | |
| 15 | He brings all of them up with a hook, he drags them out with his net, he gathers them in his seine; so he rejoices and exults. | כֻּלֹּה בְּחַכָּה הֵעֲלָה יְגֹרֵהוּ בְחֶרְמֹו וְיַאַסְפֵהוּ בְּמִכְמַרְתֹּו עַל־כֵּן יִשְׂמַח וְיָגִיל׃ | |
| 16 | Therefore he sacrifices to his net and burns incense to his seine; for by them he lives in luxury, and his food is rich. | עַל־כֵּן יְזַבֵּחַ לְחֶרְמֹו וִיקַטֵּר לְמִכְמַרְתֹּו כִּי בָהֵמָּה שָׁמֵן חֶלְקֹו וּמַאֲכָלֹו בְּרִאָה׃ | |
| 17 | Is he then to keep on emptying his net, and mercilessly slaying nations for ever? | הַעַל כֵּן יָרִיק חֶרְמֹו וְתָמִיד לַהֲרֹג גֹּויִם לֹא יַחְמֹול׃ ס | |
