| 16 | The city was built as a square, and was as wide as it was long. | 21 | The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate being made from a single pearl. The streets of the city were of pure gold, like translucent glass.

| 22 | I saw no temple in the city; for its temple was the sovereign Lord God and the Lamb. | | Καὶ ναὸν οὐκ εἶδον ἐν αὐτῇ, ὁ γὰρ κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὁ παντοκράτωρ ναὸς αὐτῆς ἐστιν, καὶ τὸ ἀρνίον. |

| 23 | And the city had no need of sun or moon to shine upon it; for the glory of God gave it light, and its lamp was the Lamb | | καὶ ἡ πόλις οὐ χρείαν ἐχει τοῦ ἡλίου οὐδὲ τῆς σελήνης, ἵνα φαίνωσιν αὐτῇ, ἡ γὰρ δόξα τοῦ θεοῦ ἐφώτισεν αὐτήν, καὶ ὁ λύχνος αὐτῆς τὸ ἀρνίον. |

| 24 | By its light shall the nations walk, and the kings of the earth shall bring into it all their splendour. | | καὶ περιπατήσουσιν τὰ ἐθνη διὰ τοῦ φωτὸς αὐτῆς· καὶ οἱ βασιλεῖς τῆς γῆς φέρουσιν τὴν δόξαν αὐτῶν εἰς αὐτήν· |

| 25 | The gates of the city shall never be shut by day-and there will be no night. | | καὶ οἱ πυλῶνες αὐτῆς οὐ μὴ κλεισθῶσιν ἡμέρας, νὺξ γὰρ οὐκ ἐσται ἐκεῖ· |

| 26 | The wealth and splendour of the nations shall be brought into it; | | καὶ οἰσουσιν τὴν δόξαν καὶ τὴν τιμὴν τῶν ἐθνῶν εἰς αὐτήν. |
|
| 27 | but nothing unclean shall enter, nor anyone whose ways are false or foul, but only those who are inscribed in the Lamb's roll of the living.
| | καὶ οὐ μὴ εἰσέλθῃ εἰς αὐτὴν πᾶν κοινὸν καὶ ὁ ποιῶν βδέλυγμα καὶ ψεῦδος, εἰ μὴ οἱ γεγραμμένοι ἐν τῷ βιβλίῳ τῆς ζωῆς τοῦ ἀρνίου. |

| 22 1 | Then he showed me the river of the water of life, sparkling like crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb | | Καὶ ἐδειξέν μοι ποταμὸν ὑδατος ζωῆς λαμπρὸν ὡς κρύσταλλον, ἐκπορευόμενον ἐκ τοῦ θρόνου τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ τοῦ ἀρνίου. |

| 2 | down the middle of the city's street. On either side of the river stood a tree of life, which yields twelve crops of fruit, one for each month of the year. | 3 | and every accursed thing shall disappear. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be there, and his servants shall worship him; | | καὶ πᾶν κατάθεμα οὐκ ἐσται ἐτι. καὶ ὁ θρόνος τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ τοῦ ἀρνίου ἐν αὐτῇ ἐσται, καὶ οἱ δοῦλοι αὐτοῦ λατρεύσουσιν αὐτῷ, |

| 4 | they shall see him face to face, and bear his name on their foreheads. | | καὶ ὀψονται τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ, καὶ τὸ ὀνομα αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τῶν μετώπων αὐτῶν. |

| 5 | There shall be no more night, nor will they need the light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will give them light; and they shall reign for evermore. | | καὶ νὺξ οὐκ ἐσται ἐτι, καὶ οὐκ ἐχουσιν χρείαν φωτὸς λύχνου καὶ φωτὸς ἡλίου, ὅτι κύριος ὁ θεὸς φωτίσει ἐπ' αὐτούς, καὶ βασιλεύσουσιν εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας τῶν αἰώνων. |
