11	Beloved, I beseech you as aliens and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh that wage war against your soul.	Live as Servants of God 1Pe.2.11-17	Ἀγαπητοί, παρακαλῶ ὡς παροίκους καὶ παρεπιδήμους ἀπέχεσθαι τῶν σαρκικῶν ἐπιθυμιῶν, αἱτινες στρατεύονται κατὰ τῆς ψυχῆς·
12	Maintain good conduct among the Gentiles, so that in case they speak against you as wrongdoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.		τὴν ἀναστροφὴν ὑμῶν ἐν τοῖς ἐθνεσιν ἐχοντες καλήν, ἵνα, ἐν ᾧ καταλαλοῦσιν ὑμῶν ὡς κακοποιῶν, ἐκ τῶν καλῶν ἐργων ἐποπτεύοντες δοξάσωσιν τὸν θεὸν ἐν ἡμέρᾳ ἐπισκοπῆς.
13	Be subject for the Lord's sake to every human institution, whether it be to the emperor as supreme,		Ὑποτάγητε πάσῃ ἄνθρωπίνῃ κτίσει διὰ τὸν κύριον· εἰτε βασιλεῖ ὡς ὑπερέχοντι,
14	or to governors as sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to praise those who do right.		εἰτε ἡγεμόσιν ὡς δῖ αὐτοῦ πεμπομένοις εἰς ἐκδίκησιν κακοποιῶν ἐπαινον δὲ ἀγαθοποιῶν·
15	For it is God's will that by doing right you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish men.		ὅτι οὑτως ἐστὶν τὸ θέλημα τοῦ θεοῦ, ἀγαθοποιοῦντας φιμοῦν τὴν τῶν ἀφρόνων ἀνθρώπων ἀγνωσίαν·
16	Live as free men, yet without using your freedom as a pretext for evil; but live as servants of God.		ὡς ἐλεύθεροι, καὶ μὴ ὡς ἐπικάλυμμα ἐχοντες τῆς κακίας τὴν ἐλευθερίαν, ἀλλ' ὡς θεοῦ δοῦλοι.
17	Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the emperor.		πάντας τιμήσατε, τὴν ἀδελφότητα ἀγαπᾶτε, τὸν θεὸν φοβεῖσθε, τὸν βασιλέα τιμᾶτε.

The katapi NEW STUDY BIBLE is a very light revision of the RSV. The changes are: (1) In places where 'the LORD', 'O LORD' occurs in the RSV, (it represents the tetragrammaton - YHWH - which is in the hebrew text), I have used the name 'Yahweh'.
(2) I have removed the quotation marks and hyphens that were used in so many names in the RSV as an aid to correct pronunciation. This now brings it in line with all other English versions, and makes any word-search more accurate.
(3) I have changed all (I hope!) of the RSV archaic language sections to modern.
The katapi New Study Bible reference section displays links to parallel passages, and to direct quotations by New Testament authors to Old Testament passages. Quotations of OT passages by NT authors can in most cases be viewed within their context of the OT passage as a whole, with the quoted text displayed, against a subdued background.
