| 13 | Therefore gird up your minds, be sober, set your hope fully upon the grace that is coming to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. | A Call to Holy Living 1Pe.1.13-25 | Διὸ ἀναζωσάμενοι τὰς ὀσφύας τῆς διανοίας ὑμῶν, νήφοντες, τελείως ἐλπίσατε ἐπὶ τὴν φερομένην ὑμῖν χάριν ἐν ἀποκαλύψει Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ. |
| 14 | As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, | ὡς τέκνα ὑπακοῆς, μὴ συσχηματιζόμενοι ταῖς πρότερον ἐν τῇ ἀγνοίᾳ ὑμῶν ἐπιθυμίαις, | |
| 15 | but as he who called you is holy, be holy yourselves in all your conduct; | ἀλλὰ κατὰ τὸν καλέσαντα ὑμᾶς ἀγιον καὶ αὐτοὶ ἀγιοι ἐν πάσῃ ἀναστροφῇ γενήθητε, | |

| 18 | You know that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your fathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, | εἰδότες ὅτι οὐ φθαρτοῖς, ἀργυρίῳ ἢ χρυσίῳ ἐλυτρώθητε ἐκ τῆς ματαίας ὑμῶν ἀναστροφῆς πατροπαραδότου, | |
| 19 | but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot. | ἀλλὰ τιμίῳ αἱματι ὡς ἀμνοῦ ἀμώμου καὶ ἀσπίλου Χριστοῦ, | |
